Team Reveals

Fantasy Football Scout’s best FPL team reveals ahead of Gameweek 1 deadline

As Fantasy Premier League managers search for the best players and best combination of assets for Gameweek 1 of the 2020/21 season, we have collected our Team Reveals all in one place.

The clock is ticking down and everyone in the FPL community is desperate for some answers. Thankfully we have them in abundance.

Fantasy Football Scout will be running exclusive weekly Team Reveals on the site throughout the season (which you can ACCESS HERE), but as it’s the last day before the Gameweek 1 deadline we are publishing a bumper edition.

We wanted to do something special, by sharing insights from a whole team of leading managers together in one place. Welcome to the best Gameweek 1 Team Reveals…

1. Lateriser12

Three-time top 200 finisher and India’s reigning champion, Lateriser12 is going without Salah, but how has he spread the funds? Premium Members can find out!

2. Simon March

Former FPL winner and four-time top 7k finisher Simon March is also going without Salah. Premium Members can find out why!

3. Darren Wiles

Currently sat third in the FFS Career Hall of Fame, Darren Wiles is going light up-front this season, but which mid-price forwards have taken his fancy?

4. Az

Co-host of the Scoutcast and FPL Black Box, Az has gone for a 4-3-3 formation in light of Blank Gameweek 1’s awkward nature.

5. Andy

With six top 20k finishes to his name, Andy Mears, our video manager, is eyeing up a Chelsea double-up for the start of 2020/21.

6. Zophar666

Recorded before Ziyech’s pre-season injury, this team reveal video from a seven-time top 10k finisher reveals a Chelsea double-up combined with lavish spending elsewhere.

7. Gianni Butticè

Author of Fantasy Premier League: Unlocking the Secrets to a Top 1% Finish, Gianni is going for the bold approach of a triple-up on Arsenal this season.

8. Karam

Karam has gone for the rather bold approach of tripling-up on Liverpool… in defence!

9. Sam Bonfeld

Fresh from a 3k-finish in 2019/20, Sam has somehow managed to get FOUR players priced £10.5m or higher into her team.

10. David Munday

Fantasy Football Scout editor David is toying with the inclusion of Harry Kane this season.

11. Neale Rigg

Fantasy Football Scout’s deputy editor Neale has considered going with a 4-4-2 formation to accommodate investment in Manchester United from the start.

12. Stephen Harrap

Meanwhile, the second-placed FFS Career Hall of Famer, Stephen Harrap has opted for a decidedly puzzling line-up (see what we did there?), choosing to semi-reveal his intended starting squad in cryptic crossword style.
The first person to correctly identify the squad in the comments will earn a Premium Membership (and our eternal admiration!)

GKs:

DJ could start a really hollow thought, and not finish, to get into him. (8)

He’s that cute! (6)

Defenders:

Is that the news of his arrival I hear? (6)

Thanks to Algeria’s opening man. (3)

He’s got the fish despite not ever angling. (7)

A spider’s home brew could be missing him? (8)

Sounds like he’s not going to pass, but I won’t give him an F! (6)

Midfielders:

He has, alas, a broken heart. (5)

He’s part of the direction to a religious king. (6)

Own a stats language on the top of zooming him. (7)

Two snakes, beginning outside, are around me, man. (8)

He likes a bite out of a sandwich between his two apples. (4)

Strikers:

He is a clown, or mistaken with a grand premier. (5)

They say he needs plates to go from left to wright. (6)

He performs headlessly; a cat painting half a funeral. (4-2-7)

Jorginho is very unlikely to play much once Kovacic is back after GW1. So my money is on Werner.

    B) 4.5 bench forward + Havertz

Ings and bench mid (which would be Bissouma because I'm 90% sure he will start). Other choice I'd go for Lewis. Newcastle's fixtures are kinder in 1+2, and will start (whereas Vinagre is only about 75%)

He pretty much is. With Chilwell out, Azpi should cover LB.

Ah haha. I was wondering if a downgrade for the 1.0 (which I’d probably bank) was worth it.

Final tinkering. I keep going back and forth... to Salah, or not to Salah.

    Team a)
    Ramsdale, Steer
    Robertson, Davies, KWP, Justin, Buur
    Salah, Auba, Alli, Soucek, Bissouma
    Werner Ings Wilson
    0 itb

    Team b)
    Ramsdale, McCarthy
    TAA, Davies, KWP, Justin, Buur
    Auba, Havertz, Alli, Pereira, Bissouma
    Werner Ings Wilson
    0.5 itb

    So it comes down:
    a) Salah, Alli, Soucek, Robbo, Steer
    b) Son, Havertz, Pereira, TAA, McCarthy

With b I have 0.5 itb to upgrade Ings to Martial GW2, and then Salah to KDB GW3. With a) I would have to take a 4 point hit to do both during GW2, or risk Martial going up in price.

    TIA

I had Ings from the start last year and I got rid of the useless bugger around week six as he had not returned adequately if at all. We all know how that ended for me. My stubbornness refused to allow him back in.

Ings started off at 6m last year. You couldget lucky with a 6m striker. I personally see more valuein defence. VVD scored 180pts lastyearand he is 6.5. If Gomez can stay fithe should get very close to thatat 5.5. All relative. I dont have Mitrovic but he is the one 6m striker I fear most. Idont know why that is...

Surely Castagne being a right back means Justins place in the team is for one or two games?

Justin has always been a bit of a punty pick on the basis he will be a placeholder while Ricardo is out injured. I started with him but have shifted him out because it's slightly too risky and, honestly, I don't really want that Leicester back line without Chilwell and massive fixture congestion

Unless the question is who is the most hilariously overpriced FPL player of all time then the answer is never Firmino.

I like Wilson but he might not start, even Havertez is a slight risk. Then Saka as well is another

I'd try be safer in a few of those spots as Martial has a blank. Mitrovic seems the most obvious

mate just replied to your other post. Let me know what you recon. I'm going No Salah and sticking. Want to captain Auba and want Martial ready for week 2. Willing to have Havertz over Salah too.

DCL and ASM probably better than Saka and Wilson - will look again at defence

Discussion on the Wolves forum about Marcal possibly starting ahead of Saiss lol. I guess it's unlikely he'll start GW1 but I might end up opting for Coady.

Might have to play it safe as well. It's all becoming one big mind game

Vinagre and Saiss will prob both start but better to be safe than sorry I guess!
