£4.0m FPL defender Dunne makes first Premier League start in Tarkowski absence

The last of four Premier League matches to take place on Sunday is the late kick-off at the King Power Stadium, with Burnley the visitors to Leicester.

Play gets underway at 19:00 BST.

Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) is the most-owned player on show in this game, with almost one in four Fantasy Premier League managers owning the Leicester City striker.

He is part of an unchanged starting XI, with James Maddison (£7.0m) again having to be content with a place on the bench.

After blanking in Gameweek 1, Burnley finally get their 2020/21 league campaign off and running.

As was the case at the end of last season, the Clarets are down to the bare bones.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.5m) picked up an injury in midweek, joining Ashley Barnes (£6.0m), Ben Mee (£5.0m) and Jack Cork (£5.0m) on the sidelines.

James Tarkowski (£5.5m) has also failed to recover from a “bruised toe”, so budget FPL defender Jimmy Dunne (£4.0m) is handed his first-ever Premier League start.

Robbie Brady (£5.0m), rather than an ‘out of position’ Erik Pieters (£4.5m), gets the nod in Gudmundsson’s absence.

Nick Pope (£5.5m), the leading FPL points-scorer among goalkeepers last season, is between the posts and is the only Burnley asset who boasts a double-digit ownership.

No goalkeeper kept more clean sheets away from home than Pope (seven) in 2019/20, although six of them came against clubs who finished in the bottom half.

Vardy registered 17 attacking returns at home last season, which no other FPL forward could top.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Castagne, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Justin, Mendy, Ayoze Pérez, Tielemans, Praet, Barnes, Vardy.

Burnley XI: Pope, Bardsley, Long, Dunne, Taylor, Brady, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Wood, Rodríguez.

Podence is a headache for sure. Feel like I want to see more of him, but wildcarding this week. Feels like he could be a gem and worth taking the chance.

Would have thought he's be under threat from Kovacic.

Though if he was nailed he's probably be decent value given the way penalties are this season.

I saved ft last week also which is kind of turning me off hitting the WC but not sure that that is wise or good logic.

Very limited involvement, but Liverpool had 70% possession at one point. Chelsea sat back, and were undone by a Henderson ball during one of the few times they pressed. Werner the liveliest of the Chelsea attack.

Could well be a team issue. I still fancy him to come good, but on the evidence of today and last week, only once everyone's fit and the back line is more solid.

Better than the first game. Some nice touches, provided an offside assist for Werner. But still not up to the speed of the game (although a game against Liverpool doesn't really say much because they play at a completely different level and speed compared to the rest of the PL). I'm not too interested in keeping and ultimately want rid because Chelsea on the whole don't look settled.

I ended up caving btw. WC active. My team is a bit too weak. The double Southampton defense is just too poor, and I would like to be aggressive here with price changes. I missed DCL rise but that's a small price to pay. None of the other risers from yesterday I would want anyway.

Linked. I'm still working on drafts. Likely I won't do a full RMWCT. Just weighing options. Structure is gonna be important.

It's super tempting to have very cheap defenders because of how many goals there have been so far.

      2. Twisted Saltergater
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

Cheers Camzy. I can see so many people wildcarding tonight that there might not even be any price changes!

I've effectively pulled the trigger too. I was planning to yesterday, but when your 4.5m midfielder gets sent off, Wilson and ASM blank at home, and Davies looks like being second choice next week, then you know it's time.

Quite exciting to look at the fixtures for the next 8 weeks or so and plan the attack.
