Alisson returns for Liverpool as Klopp starts Salah, Mané, Firmino and Jota

Liverpool have been handed a much-needed boost at the back for their Gameweek 6 meeting with Sheffield United.

With Virgil van Dijk‘s (£6.4m) long-term injury still fresh in Jurgen Klopp’s mind, he welcomes back first-choice goalkeeper Alisson (£5.9m) from his shoulder problem.

It is a first start since Gameweek 3 for the Brazilian, Liverpool giving up nine goals in two matches during his absence.

That development is sure to be music to the ears of Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m) and Andrew Robertson (£7.1m) owners, who sit in 35.6% and 19% of team respectively.

However, there is arguably even more exciting news further up the pitch for Liverpool, as this week’s most captained player worldwide Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) could well be handed a centre-forward role.

Diogo Jota (£6.3m) has been welcomed into the starting line-up for a rare foray into a 4-2-3-1 formation, which also features Roberto Firmino (£9.3m) and Sadio Mané (£12.0m).

It has been some time since we have seen Klopp shape his troops in this way, but the last time a fourth attacking midfielder was added to the team, Firmino was handed a number 10 role behind Salah.

Meanwhile, interest in Sheffield United assets continues to wane, with Rhian Brewster (£4.5m) the only player owned by more than 7% for Gameweek 6.

He starts against his former club, paired with Oli McBurnie (£5.7m) up-front.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Robertson, Gomez, Fabinho, Alexander-Arnold; J Henderson, Wijnaldum; Mané, Firmino, D Jota; Salah.

Sheffield United XI: Ramsdale; Ampadu, Egan, Basham; Stevens, Osborn, Berge, Lundstram, Baldock; Brewster, McBurnie.

Did any neutrals watch the Chelsea game? Want to have non-biased opinions on how we (chelsea) played? Do you all think Frank is the right man?

I think Frank and Ole are the problems with both sides. Chelsea have a good squad but the wing manager. United have half a good squad with the wrong manager. Noddy couldn’t inspire anyone. Everton are better than both sides.

Frank is the right man. If Mendy was not injured that is 4 more pts against Southampton and WBA and top 3

both teams seemed cautious, can’t really judge...Man Utd probably looked more dangerous at times...solid defending all around

Boring, both setup not to lose which was always gonna end up being a bore draw. I personally don't rate Lampard at all, with the money he's spent you should be smashing the league.

Well organised defensively but that came at the cost of any attacking threat. For me, we showed far too much respect to a very average Utd team.

He parked a bus against a bus. Should’ve had a penalty which would have opened it up. Very conservative given the players.

United fan but impartial. Thought Chelsea played with the handbrake on. Lack creativity. Ziyech could solve that. Werner and Havertz still look like strangers in that team.

Lampard should be judged at the end of the season.

Mendy is the story of the game. With Kepa in goal, MU wins 4-0 today.

Chelsea had an ok game. The play of Chilwell and Reece James was not as good as expected

The Refs denied a clear PK on Azpilicueta. Maguire did a Sumo wrests take down.

0-0 was the least likely outcome in a crazy action packed game

I did Son > Zaha gw4 before the injury fiasco. I got Son back immediately in GW5 for kdb but keep Zaha. Happy that he's ticking along, think he's better option than Barnes or Grealish because of position and penalty. People say it was Fulham today.. but last week it was Brighton and he still got attacking return plus bonus.

He'd be great alternative to Chilwell with savings ...
      Probably par with crossing too

Watched the whole thing and the main takeaway for me is that Chelsea defence looks way more solid with Mendy and Chillwell in particular looks a great option. Also think that Pulisic might be a better shout over Werner (assuming he doesn't get pens) once he gets a few more games under his belt.

How were Chelsea defensively? Went against Chilwell because of how poor they were but now have 3 CS in a row

      They were fairly solid.

I really liked em. Manu didn't really do much mind you but I reckon Silva bedding in + Mendy will make em solid enough. Chillwell as attacking as you can be in this type of game.

13/1 on a Sheffield United win - widest we've seen this season?

Read about 1000000 tweets and comments essentially begging God for TAA attacking return

Gua**a has cost me 10-12 points last few games. What to do with that piece of compost?
