Comparing Kane, Son and potential replacements as I plan for Spurs’ fixture swing

Fantasy Premier League managers need to start making a plan for their Tottenham Hotspur assets as their incoming fixture-swing approaches.

Leading the way with their 71 points each, Harry Kane (£11.0m) and Son Heung-min (£9.6m) have been the catalysts for success during the first seven Gameweeks but that may not be true for much longer.

Many of us will be relying on Jose Mourinho’s men yet again this weekend as they travel to face an out-of-form West Bromwich Albion side – but we cannot allow ourselves to get too attached.

From Gameweek 9 it will be a case of form versus fixtures as we see Spurs run into Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in four of the five matches between Gameweeks 10 and 13.  Even though owning both Kane and Son has been almost essential in the early weeks of the season, I definitely think it is time we seriously examine the merits of keeping the pair beyond Gameweek 8.

Any Mat Ryan owners here? What are we thinking? I've already used a transfer this week and dont want to take a -4, there seems to be a small chance still he may return? Similar to ancelotti and pickford, he was dropped 1 game to provoke a response and seems will be back this gw. Not sure about Potter and ryan though..

Issue is.. Ryan is 1 of the only 4.5m GK options out there, Dont fancy McCarthy as saints fixtures look a bit tougher. And thats it, or I upgrade to Martinez which is likely my plan, but would probably rather not need a xfer for GK and save .3 to use elsewhere, for example Son> Rashford next GW! Feels like a rubbish GK selection this year. Or you have to look at 5m+ which I try and avoid..

Current squad. Getting there slowly without using the wildcard

    McCarthy 4m
    TAA Justin Saiss B.Davies 4m
    Salah Son JWP Podence Reed
    Kane Adams DCL

1ft this week with 4m itb.
Who should I be shipping out this week as priority and who should I be bringing in as their replacement??
Obviously Saiss B.Davies Podence and JWP are the obvious ones but which??? Cheers..

    2 FT ... 0.4 in Bank
    What's the Best Option..
    1. Take Bowen for Foden (Save 1 FT)
    2. Take Zaha for Foden and Chelsea defender for Alexander Arnold (Liverpool)..

Ok - here is my situation. I am grateful for any feedback on this.

Martinez and Robbo to go as both teams ship too many goals.

    Considering:
    GK: Mendy or Leno.
Would do Patricio if the fixtures were better.

D: No one stands out - looking at Ait Nouri and Dias, as Cancelo will be prone to Pep rotation I fear.

I want a set and forget keeper. Got Chilwell, Lamptey, KWP and Kilman. So no more Chelsea.

    Got 2FT.

I think both are worth keeping. But if you must!

Leno - Arsenal looks solid at the back and you have an extra spot for a Chelsea attacker or defender for a potential triple up.

      Defender - I don't know

        Thanks!

I just think Villa's defense will not hold, I don't find it realistic that they are completely transformed from last year imo.

The money freed up from selling Robbo will come handy.

    Hi All,

some advice would be more than welcome.

    OUT - Robbo and Alzate

    Robbo for ??
    A) Cresswell
    B) chilwell
    C) coufal
    D) Zouma

    Alzate for ??

    A) If getting coufal means upto 5.9 mid
    B) if cresswell then 53 mid

save money for son to KDB Week 10
with spurs fixture turning to a more differcult and city going the other way

    OR
    other option is
Coufal and Ziyech (but not sure ziyech playing time would be over the next 5-6 games ??

I'd argue Chilwell is a better captaincy than any Chelsea attacker. If Sheffield Utd keep things tight as we know they can then Chilwell has a CS to fall back on. With set-pieces and attacking from the left he's arguably as likely as Ziyech to grab an attacking return. Pulisic isn't confirmed fit and Werner might be rested.

      I’m going Zaha I think

He is cheaper and any transfers now need to seriously plan for the GW10 fixture swing. The cash saved makes it much easier to do Son -> KDB in GW10.

Ziyech is flavour of the week as great fixture and big haul last week

Pul and Havertz are out. Ziyech will play 90 mins and CFC have great fixtures in nest 2 weeks.
Personaly, best option is Werner, mby even Abraham. But Ziyech is dicent too

I only saw 3 min highlights of the Chelsea game so can't talk eye test, but Ziyech's stats in that game weren't that good

I’m sticking with puli. Sounds like he will play but wait for frank at 1.30

I assumed he was definitely out or a cameo off bench at best. Hopefully good news and I'm wrong

Just done the Soucek vs Foden comparison in the members area and it's changed my mind to benching Soucek. Feels like IF Foden starts he has a far better chance of returning, even given the fixtures...

People need to forget about the Liverpool defence of the last 3 years. That back 5 isn’t playing this weekend.

Simon March wrote an article the other day on the Endowment Effect and I think it perfectly applies in this context. Every team is scoring against Liverpool right now, and next up is Man City.

Yep completely agree. It's taken me all week to break the fear of the FDR rating, but now I almost wish I had premium City!

I’m tempted to do Jimenez to Jesus but it may well be a week too soon.

I play Fantasy CL and it's baffling watching Liverpool rack up the clean sheets. I mean who on earth expected them to keep a clean sheet away to Atalanta? Everyone waxing lyrical about Jota but Zapata had about 5 clear cut chances and nothing was going in. There's always the fear that they bring this form into the PL. I'd say that's more important than historical reasons.

Zapata had 5 clear cut chances, so what form exactly? Sounds like he was the reason Atalanta didn’t score 🙂

First -12 of the season, third consecutive red arrow expected. Rob + Havertz + Pereira + Jimenez out Zouma + Ziyech + Auba + Adams in. No point taking the FH since i wanted those players out. Will probably captain Auba or Ziyech hoping for a haul to get back the points immediately.

    McCarthy
    Dier Justin Zouma
    Ziyech(vc) Son KDB Auba(c)
    Kane Adams Mitro

    GL people!

It’s way too early in the season to be going this wild / desperate.

      Take a deep breath.

Minus 12 before an IB seems madness

Auba captain over Son or Kane is madness.

I like your transfers in, though.

Auba in, on the back of a lucky penalty, is crazy. Even ignoring the -12

    Best defender to replace TAA.
    A) Chilwell
    B) Lamptey
    C) Coufall
    D) Cresswell

Starting 3 defenders are lamprey, Cresswell and Mitchell. The are all 75%ers.

Anyone know fitness status of them?

From what I can find Cresswell is fit. After CP performance last week I could see Mitchell starting if he's fit

PVA likely to start even if Mitchell is fit, unfortunately
