How to use teams’ specific weaknesses to pick the right FPL assets

Despite selling Jamie Vardy (£10.3m) for a hit on Friday, Gameweek 12 turned out to be a pretty good one for me.

After taking my second minus four of the season to accommodate Mohamed Salah (£12.3m), I returned a total of 70 points and as a result, now sit 202,736th overall, with my Wildcard still intact.

So, as focus turns to Gameweek 13, I’m going to have a look at where teams have been conceding most of their chances from this season, in the hope of identifying one or two transfer targets for the Christmas period. 

I’ll then have a closer look at some of the players who stood out, and also discuss plans going forward.

WHERE TEAMS CONCEDE THE MOST CHANCES FROM

Using data from the Premium Members Area, I’ve had a look at where each team is most susceptible to conceding chances. This is something I like to keep track of during the season, in an attempt to find out which fantasy options can exploit those weaknesses.

    City defence worth it? Dias at 5.6 safest but surely the likes of James, Cresswell and Dier plus money in the bank can keep up or outscored.

    Stones in anyway nailed? Surely Laporte is back in sooner rather than later. A nailed Stones at 4.8 would be nice.

      I brought in Dias 2 GW purely for fixtures and it looks like they've shored up the defense a bit in the last month. Lots of CS in all comps for them. Lots still have Cancelo I bet but going to only play 50-75% of the games I bet with Pep. Stones looks in good form and should start again tomorrow alongside Dias.

        Yeah they certainly have the fixtures. Dias and Walker seem the most nailed but just not sure on price. Just can't see massive scores from Dias

        My thoughts too. Dias, Laporte, Stones, Ake and Garcia for two spots. Dias seems the most nailed but will surely get rested. The likes of Cresswell plus his stats and 0.4 cheaper seems a better shout

    Bruno = stays
    Kane = stays
    Son = stays
    KDB and Salah are rotated based on fixtures, form and captaincy, since they are the most expensive.

    There, cracked the code.

    When fixtures warranty will have them both, especially till GW 16 when KDB goes.

    Salah goes after GW 19 or on GW19.

    KDB comes back GW18 if possible or GW if not.

    23rd might risk it with neither and so on

        Hauls doesn't matter that much against 40EO%. 100EO% + is the biggest worry when you don't have a heavy hitter

      It's all fine until 1/2 of your other players gets injured/suspended or out of form and ypu have to take hits to replace those.

      I just feel rotating between premiums every 1/2 weeks makes no sense. Premiums will do good in most weeks. Just have the 3/4 which you believe in and keep them for the long term until they go out of form/injured/suspended.

        It is every 4 or 5 fixtures.

        Let me ask you this

        Which will bring me more points? Chasing captains and fixtures for heavy hitters or upgrading Mitchel to Lewis or so? Swapping Soucek to Cabalero based on fixtures maybe?

        I fell into that trap in the past when I hated to see red flags in my team and sold them for a hit.

        Now I dont care about my third or second sub being meh. I had Antonio who was injured on my bench for 5 GWs and have 8 green arrows in a row.

        Every fpl strategy has to take into account the value of a free transfer. You get only 34 through the year

      I thought about Salah to KDB for -4 but not convinced. Even if KDB gets 12... Minus the 4 and what ever Salah gets (2-8) there's not much in it. Unless KDB gets 18+ the I will be gutted.

      I'd consider it if a makeweight for an upgrade in midfield. Ings also a good option, but not great fixtures (though I'd back him to score against arsenal)
