My final FPL transfer decisions ahead of Gameweek 16 Wildcard

After an eventful Gameweek 14, in which I almost committed the deadly sin of selling Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), I couldn’t be happier with the end result: a total of 93 points and an overall rank well inside the Top 20K for the first time since Gameweek 10.

Considering the rumours from several sources saying Salah was going to be rested at Selhurst Park, I almost pulled the trigger and sold him for Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) on Saturday morning. However, since I wasn’t 100% convinced by the rumours, I decided to hold fire and hope for a cameo from the Liverpool midfielder at the very least. After all, it would be heartbreaking to sell him ahead of such a nice fixture just to find out the rumours weren’t true.

However, the rumours were very true and he was indeed benched. But Salah doesn’t need many minutes to wreak havoc and after his 16-pointer, I was relieved to have decided to save my transfer. In addition, Ruben Dias (£5.7m), Andrew Robertson (£7.3m), Jack Grealish (£7.8m) and my captain Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m) all delivered nine points or more, which felt great after three red arrows in a row.

I'm going for McCarthy, palace have more goal threat than Fulham so not guna over complicate it and go with my gut. Odds for clean sheet are slightly in favour for Aston Villa though, if you take that into account.

What to do here? 0 FT, .9 ITB

    Mendy
    Dias - Robbo - Dallas
    Salah (C) - KDB - Bruno - Grealish
    DCL - Bam - Brewster

    Steer - Stephens* - Chill* - 3.8

    A) Save + play brewster as my 11th
    B) Chill out for a hit
    C) Upgrade Stephens > Soucek or someone for a hit
    D) Something else for a hit?

I think it just depends whether you think Giroud will start.

If you think he will, then start him. If not, then he's likely to give you a 1-point cameo.

Things that make me laugh (and maybe why I love this website) are the Chinese whispers that become fact:

    1. Coufal's wife had a baby... and ...paternity leave! not playing! NOT PLAYING! take a -4.

    2. Chilwell pictured at Cobham. ("He's fit! I'm gonna TC him!"). Umm... Strangely enough I do believe Cobham is his place of work and where he goes to to start his recovery/rehab. The ability to tap a ball around (or have a photo on social media) is not the same as being available for a full on 90mins. It's quite possibly the start of his recovery/rehab as controlled by the physios.

    YMMV.

Last week there was a lot of "rumours" from sources about Salah being benched that got shot down by a lot of people. I agree that people can act like they 100% know something is going to happen when they shouldn't but I don't mind the stories coming out if they have a genuine source. The two you mention do actually have some source material to them. It wouldn't surprise me if Coufal missed out or if Chilwell played this week.

Well you had Watkins and got 95pts...happy days. You might get 95 pts this week and still have him.

That might seem like an odd thing to say but the fact is the budget fwds aren’t very good this year. You may be in danger of jumping from the pot to the kettle, and back again. Ollie will have two or three games where he looks ok (provided somebody puts it on a plate for him) and then nothing for weeks on end....just like the rest.

I'd imagine so although FFS team news section highlights rotation risk...'Walker's absence increases Joao Cancelo's prospects of a start - although with two games to negotiate in the space of 48 hours, Pep Guardiola may well consider playing a square peg in a round hole at right-back in one of the next two games'.

Yes,took -12 changed whole defense and feel a lot better.

        -12 is absurd.

          Chilwell + James +Lewis + Lamptey + Bowen ➡️ Dias + Cresswell + Regulion + Taylor + Raphinha (-12)

They got me 1 point and wont play probably, think moves are good

What to do here? 1 FT, 0.0 ITB

    Martinez
    Chilwell - James - Coufal
    Salah (C) - Bruno - Son - Zaha - Raphinha
    Kane - DCL

    BPC - Saiss - Brewster - 3.9

Simply sell Chil/James for Dias/Stone/Dier? They could still play, especially Chilwell...
Would like to have KdB and Robbo this week but both would require a -4, not keen.

Chilwell/James out,who would you sell for KDB?

KDB(C) two in a row go 3rd time lucky or go safe with Salah(C)?

If Salah EO is ~120% could take KDB(C) gamble but afraid it will be higher

It's up to you, but Salah EO in the top 10k should be at least 150%.

That scares me,would go safe then if it will be ~150%

Lucky or not is something else but WBA def stats is inferior to NEW. LIV are getting hot whilst MCI have missed their no.9 quite a bit. Wishing Salah to blank-ish to get your approach pays off in this scenario is a risky business. GL!

Yes risky, keep missing (C) so probably KDB to haul now.

        Going safe then Salah(C),cheers

I have that "this is the week for him" feeling. I was considering Wood as well but I've talked myself out of that
