Salah returns to Klopp’s starting XI and carries captaincy hopes of millions

The penultimate fixture of Gameweek 15 sees Liverpool defend their 66-match unbeaten league run at home against a West Bromwich Albion side led by the last manager to taste success at Anfield.

Sam Allardyce, whose Crystal Palace side were victorious on Merseyside in April 2017, takes charge of the Baggies for the second time today.

Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

The headline team news sees the most-captained player of Gameweek 15, Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) return to the Liverpool starting line-up after his benching last weekend.

The Egyptian was transferred in by over 500,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Saturday’s deadline, swelling his ownership figure to over 45%.

Around 2.4 million FPL bosses handed him the armband for this fixture, with just over 100,000 of us using their Triple Captain chip on FPL’s most expensive asset.

Curtis Jones (£4.4m) is also recalled to the Reds’ team, with the benched Takumi Minamino (£6.0m) and the absent Naby Keita (£5.2m) making way.

Keita misses out with a “fitness issue”.

Allardyce’s only change from the 3-0 home defeat by Aston Villa is an enforced one.

Callum Robinson (£5.4m) returns in place of Jake Livermore (£4.7m), who is suspended.

Matheus Pereira (£5.6m) is available again after serving his own three-match ban and is among the substitutes.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Fabinho, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Robertson, Jones, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

West Brom XI: Johnstone, Furlong, Gibbs, Ajayi, Robinson, Phillips, Diangana, Gallagher, Sawyers, O’Shea, Grant.

    Martinez
    Dallas - KWP - Coufal - Robertson
    Salah - Son - Bruno - Raphinha
    Bamford - Kane

    Johnstone - Adams - Soucek - Stones

Would you take a -8 between now and GW19 to get this BB team?

Very pleasantly surprised to find Matip didn’t lose his 3 bps despite the early substitution! Mane 2 as well. Add in my Leeds trio from earlier and I’ve had a good day...on Spurs to hide behind the couch for now.

I’m struggling to reconcile his 31 BPS considering less than 60 played and no clean sheet.

So just a heads up it could change, don’t want to be a spoilsport...

Unless they’ve rounded the minute up for BPS purposes but not for actual defensive returns

Has to be one of RVPs many hauls. Thinking the one where he scored of a 40yrd pass from Rooney.

Milner assisting a Sakho goal in a DGW to put me on about 134 points with a bench boost.

Being ranked 35th after DGW 24 two seasons ago is up there but it was hard to enjoy at the time.

Also Aguero and Sanchez scoring 20 and 25 in the same DGW, when I had Aguero (TC) - FFS went crazy 🙂

True favourite stupid moment was a Sunday evening and spurs were playing. On the phone with friend in head to head league.

He needed 2 points to win and son got an assist. Game over until I joke well he could still get sent off.

      5 mins later...

Totally unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but so funny at the time

      It is.

      Ligue Un = monopoly (PSG)
Bundesliga = duopoly (Bayern and Dortmund)
La Liga = triopoly (Real, Atletico, Barcelona)

Don't even go to Netherlands, Portugal, Russia etc. which are weak leagues.

PL is the one league which is competitive compared to those above.

Ligue Un - Arsenal would win Ligue Un and basically run away with it

BayernLiga - Everton would be a lock for 2nd place, champions league every year

La Liga - everybody below the La Liga top-6 would be relegated in EPL

As a Salah(c), while it is disappointing he blanked, the play for me was to protect against the downside risk of him hauling and me not having him (c). Have seen a lot of people's seasons get derailed by a poor Christmas run (effectively GW15 - GW17 for us this season).

Next week is a more interesting GW for the (c) because there is no standout fixture and a number of viable options.
