Scoutcast Episode 363 – Everton on the radar as Kane joins the injury list

Joe and Seb are joined by Ted to look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Gameweek 21.

This latest Scoutcast episode proved a rollercoaster for Joe, Seb and their guest Ted, from TedTalks FPL, taking place during Thursday night’s eventful clash between Tottenham and Liverpool.

With Son Heung-min (£9.8m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) goals ruled out, a haul for Sadio Mane (£11.8m) and an injury, possibly for weeks, to Harry Kane (£11.3m), there was plenty for our trio to mull over.

As the only Mane owner of the three, Joe struggled to contain his excitement in particular.

But where now for the Gameweek 21 captaincy, especially as Kane had been penciled in by many FPL managers to receive the armband ahead of Spurs encounter with Brighton?

Everton’s returning assets could be the answer. Dominic Calvert Lewin (£7.6m), Lucas Digne (£6.0) and James Rodriguez (£7.7m) are among Toffees stars to return from injury ahead of a kind run of games.

Ted’s already tripled up on Carlo Ancelotti’s troops and Joe and Seb are keen to invest too.

A key factor in Ted’s bold move has been his analysis from his statistical graphs over recent matches. Armed with a quintet of graphical delights he takes the Scoutcast team through his latest thoughts on chance creation to clean sheet probability.

His charts also help him to pick a differential, following some recent successes for the show, thanks to West Ham and Manchester City’s low owned gems.

Seb has some intriguing thoughts on attacking defenders, especially with new management and tactics at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the crew reveal their transfers and fresh captaincy thoughts ahead Gameweek 21 as well as consider the latest high-fliers on the fixture ticker.

    I really don't see all the love for DCL? Everton next 7 GW are really mediocre in my opinion. What does he have to show for the last 6 GWs?

      He also has 2 games in hand which means DGWs are on the way (could be 24, 26). This is why.

        MUN is not an easy fixture and take a look at Fulham's numbers in the past games vs quite difficult opponents like MUN, Spurs, Chelsea.

      Honestly I’m thinking of the same but I’m just not sure on who else I’d replace Kane with. Watkins? Laca? Maybe even Richarlison.

      It's been a lack of service with hamez and digne injured, leading to defensive tactical tweaks to make up for their loss.
      He's played well, he always plays well even when he's not getting many chances. With service he'll score goals. Digne and hamez have got their sharpness back and will create

      Well, people are taking hits to bring him in for Bamford, Kane etc. In the current environment, I don't see why you are possibly wasting a transfer on a player that has shown that he will get maximum 6 points per game.

      I would rather give Bamford a new chance, wait for Kane news, and have 1 or 2 FT going forward.

      But yeah, thats me.

    I have the donkey that is martial...already on - 4, is it worth another - 4 to get rid... It'll probably need to be for DCL likely (can't have Watkins as already have 3 villa, other front 2 are Adams and Antonio)... Alternative is firmino... Or another?

    Playing 3-5-2 bench Bamford
    B- Bamford > Watkins
    Playing 3-4-3 and no Gundo
    So get watkins or Gundo

    Am I the only one not really sold on DCL? Need to replace Kane but Everton just look very lacking in attack recently.

    Not sure who the better options are though, maybe Watkins or Laca?

      Neither - Salah was hugging the touchline and not playing closer to Firminho inside. Also I don't think he was that great last night. DCL could be a good punt against a poor Newcastle but I don't like the cap on the early KO.

    Mane was great yesterday but I don't really trust Liverpool. I also think that Salah is a better pick for long term. So my options are:

    A) Mane + Brewster -> Gundo + DCL (and bench Wilson)
    B) Burn ft and play Mane + Wilson

    A is better, right?

    So, with 7.5mil in the bank already, I think I'm going to keep Kane benched for the time being and prioritise getting Salah in as someone I trust captaining.

    Unfortunately that means I have to sell one of Soucek, Gundogan and Saka on the back of a double figure haul...

    Any thoughts?
