Who are the best Burnley players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Fantasy Premier League managers are considering Burnley players for Double Gameweek 24.

The Clarets face two favourable fixtures against Crystal Palace (away) and Fulham (home) but are they worthy of a mass investment?

How many Burnley assets are too many and which ones should we own? That’s what we’re here to help you with.

After running a data dive on the recent 1-1 draw with Brighton, we have analysed the full capabilities of Sean Dyche’s men at both ends of the pitch in Double Gameweek 24.

THE FORM

Having started 2020/21 in uncharacteristically lethargic spirits, Burnley have embarked on a solid, if unspectacular run, to steer themselves away from the danger zone of late.

They collected 17 of their 23 points over the last 12 matches which included morale-boosting wins at Arsenal (Gameweek 12), home victories over Wolves (Gameweek 14), Sheffield United (Gameweek 16) and Aston Villa (Gameweek 20).

And, of course, their hard work at Anfield in Double Gameweek 19 helped Dyche’s men become the first visiting team to win a Premier League match there since April 2017.

Still, even though the points are flowing more freely these days, one common theme has underpinned the Clarets’ matches this season: lack of goals.

Despite sitting one place above the bottom three, only eight Premier League clubs have conceded fewer times than Burnley this season.

Double Gameweek 24 teams: Fulham - best FPL players, form, fixtures and XXX

Intriguingly, their total of 29 goals shipped is level with Liverpool while second-placed Manchester United (30) and tenth-placed Leeds (38) have both been breached more times than Dyche’s men this season.

The reason for Burnley’s poor performance in the league table despite these hardly relegation-form defensive numbers is, of course, their troubles in front of goal.

After 23 Gameweeks, no team has scored fewer goals than the Clarets (14). Sheffield United have 15 strikes from one extra match, meaning both clubs sit bottom of the league for 0.6 goals per game.

The formbook has not seen much improvement in this area, despite Burnley’s increased number of points.

Over the last 12 matches, their total of nine goals is the second-lowest in the division behind only Fulham (six).

But continuing with their theme, only Manchester City (three), Arsenal (nine) and Leicester (10) have a better defensive record during that time.

Come one Brighton. Win that second half and get a tasty DGW in 26!

Soucek to Gundogan still a no-brainer even with the suspension revoked and Gundogan likely off pens?

I’ll definitely be making the move. Will be sweating for his tasty home fixture though. Poor fixtures after that though.

Extra time in Everton vs Spurs would be beneficial to Man City with Pep resting half his team tonight

If Everton lose, I assume they won’t get a dgw in 26. Would you still transfer DCL in? I’m think no because of fixtures.

It’s harder if you’ve no WC.

    Pope*
    Dias* - Cancelo* - Mee*
    Bruno - Salah - Gundo* - Neto
    DCL* - Bamford - Antonio

    McCarthy - Coufal - Son - Mitchell

Could make this bench boostable team with a -8 hit. Worth it, or stick to the WC25 BB26 tactic? The -8 for context (all three outgoing players will deliver zero this week):

    Forster > Pope
    Reguilon > Mee
    Bernardo > Mitchell

6 DGWs looks good to me. Sterling differential.
I'm not sure you'll get away with playing 2 captain's though!

IF Antonio is fit, I'd consider playing him over Saka.

Hi....Just got wildcard and TC left and pretty set on saving wildcard for gw30 to clean up after the blanks.

2fts and will bring in lowton Bamford and raphinha this week and next. Plus a hit to get kane (tc) for dgw26.

Think I'd then have 10 x dgws for 26 plus Bamford. And also 3 Leeds and coufal who play bgw29. Makes sense??? Thanks

    Martinez pope
    Cancelo dias chilwell coufal dallas
    Salah Bruno grealish gundog soucek
    Dcl antonio Watkins

    Thanks

How has Brewster managed not to score there, lad must be cursed.

I'm a Bristol City fan and we are awful - Sheffield United will take a while to get back to the prem if this is their best side.

Same dilemma. Would be via one of the city defenders as I own sterling already.
Gut feel says no but fixtures after this week for WHU get a bit ugly.

If you want instant return, maybe not. Medium term surely yes
