The exoneration of the 96 that died has been conveniently shaped into a blanket exoneration of Liverpool fans on that day. The Hillsborough campaign blamed everyone - the police, the stewards, the ground, the local authorities - but never once acknowledged the culpability of the mass of Liverpool fans that DELIBERATELY arrived late at the gate with the intention of creating a crush in order to bunk in for free and then piled into the terraces, causing the carnage at the front. That kind of behaviour was very common in those days and Liverpool fans were master exponents of it, many used to boast of never having paid to get into a game in their life.

The 96 that died were innocent victims and none of the authorities involved were blameless but they were also, in part, innocent victims of fellow Liverpool supporters.
