GoalScorer Challenge

Win a Scout Premium Membership with GoalScorer Challenge

Fantasy Football Scout have once again teamed up with the popular GoalScorer Challenge (GSC) competition this season.

We will be giving away a Premium Membership to the best manager every month to go with the game’s £500 top prize for the campaign’s overall winner.

If you have not played before, GoalScorer Challenge is a very simple and free game.

Every week, you pick one player from the Premier League who you think is most likely to score. The more goals that man racks up, the more points you get. But pick wisely, as you can only select each player once per season.

GoalScorer Challenge (@GoalscorerC) | Twitter

There are three types of Gameweek:

Premier League – most weekends there will be a full round of league fixtures which will all be included. If there is a full round of matches during midweek (for example over the Christmas period) these will be counted as a separate Gameweek.

International – during international breaks, you still have to pick a Premier League player, but instead for their country. There are 10 international Gameweeks this season.

Cup – on FA Cup weekends, you are again limited to players playing for Premier League teams. The EFL Cup final will also be included as it will take place alongside a regular round of Premier League matches.

GSC is free to play and it only takes a minute to enter each week. You can create mini-leagues and play against your friends, too.

Full details, rules and entry can be FOUND HERE.

    RMT:

    Ederson (Steele)
Shaw, Tsimikas, TAA (Ayling & Veltman rotate if Robbo okay)
    Bruno, Jota, Mahrez, Barnes (Raph)
    Antonio, Maupay, Ings

Morning, do you think Dele Alli will be a starter this season? I know it's risky given I'm doing a no transfers set and forget league, and I know there's good alternatives at £6-£6.5m price point, but I'm so tempted by him. Cheers

People posting saying final decision to make today 4 days before the season starts. How is this even possible?! The few days before the season usually has me tinkering away on solid picks and yet somehow I will end up with shite like Kante and Dwight Gayle at 6.29pm under the pressure of deadline

    1. TheTinman
      • 8 Years
      2 years, 8 months ago

Preach. I had a pretty solid team for about 2 weeks now, with one or two places in contention.

Yesterday I changed about 5 players and when I slept on it and looked at my team I almost laughed, I'd just totally ripped it up haha. Got to be really careful not to over tinker!

How crazy, i pretty much just drafted this, except Barnes over Greenwood to fit in a 4.5m def on the bench. Very strong. I am going with that, or Bamford/Brownhill over Jota/Obafemi.

        • 7 Years

The whole point of this draft is to fit Jota and Greenwood in, it makes sense to start with them with those fixtures, teams are unknown at the start so may as well target the better teams

Salah, Bruno, Son, ESR // Raphinha
    Antonio, Ings // Obafemi

Leaves me with 1itb so i can do some patches. Also tried to make sure that the price point for all positions makes them easy to swap. I really want Son, but might have to wait a few gw to get him unfortunately

    Sanchez - Guita
    TAA - Cancelo - Shaw - Coufal - Anderson
    Salah - Bruno - Raphinha - Bissouma - Gilmour

        I'll share.

Shaw has missed 120 matches during his Utd time due to 15 injuries, so I would say he's injury prone.

In 9 seasons, he's only hit double digits in two of them. I'll be generous and calculate his average point tally for the seasons he'll played more than 1000 minutes. It's 84.

Manchester United scored from 7 sets pieces last year, comparatively to City (13), Chelsea (12) and Liverpool (12). Which tells me they aren't great at it.

The upside is: they will no doubt be defensively stronger with Varane. But in my opinion, Shaw isn't worth the 5.5 price tag. You call it points-only bollock, in my eyes it's all that matters at the end of the day. The alternative is right here with AWB, a much more stable performer over the last few seasons.

Kudos for entertaining an attention seeking poster 😆 i know i wouldnt have

The correct answer is (1) Shaw wasnt worth 5m last season; and (2) neither did he.

He’s definitely had injury problems - but the broken leg was a fairly freak/black swan type incident so let’s not penalise him for that, and Mourinho had a very well known vendetta against him during his time at Utd (the whole ‘Shaw has to play with my brain shite) which obviously held him back & really knocked his confidence

In terms of looking at points only - it’s so, so misleading when it comes to Shaw & AWB

AWB was absolutely blessed to get 7 attacking returns from 3 XGi - he had a 110+% overperformance whereas Shaw was very unlucky to get 6 attacking returns from 7 XGi - and could easily go to 10 attacking returns with a bit of overperformance & staying fit

Out of those two there’s just no competition when it comes to likelihood of getting attacking returns, Shaw absolutely wipes the floor with AWB

And in relation to every other defender in the game he is utterly elite in terms of minutes per XGi

Only TAA (who is 2.0 more expensive) and Cancelo (who is 0.5 more expensive and won’t play every game) can beat him on minutes per XGi, he beats Chilwell, Robertson, Dallas, James, Digne - you name the defender, he beats them on MPXGi

To say he’s a laughable pick with laughable ownership is very, very silly & he is at very high risk of destroying non-owners - and if Varane tightens up the defence that’s another improvement in output

          5.5 is an absolute gift
