Allsvenskan Fantasy Ones To Watch GW15

The transfer market has been busy and many managers have activated their WC. I’ve selected four players who are likely to deliver points in GW15. As is usually the case, I’ve gone for a couple of under-the-radar picks.

Jean Carlos (4.7)

Varbergs BoIS FC may have kept only 3 clean sheets this season, but the Brazilian left back is very different from his teammates from a fantasy football perspective. He’s produced 4 offensive bonus points in the last three games and he’s shown he’s capable of delivering even against the big sides, having assisted goals against the likes of Malmö and Hammarby. He’s created 6 chances in his last three games and offers value through and through. Next up is Örebro, a side that has found a new life after resigning Besara (8.7)but Jean Carlos has kept two back-to-back clean sheets at home and he can reward managers with both attacking and defensive returns. He’s owned by merely 7.7% of managers.

Elliot Käck (6.1)

Djurgårdens have sold Witry and they didn’t sign a replacement, but they have enough quality to maintain their defensive resilience. Käck had a very slow start to the season from a fantasy football point of view, but the underlying numbers show his potential for GW15. He’s created 9 chances in his last 4 games, having put in 21 crosses during the same period. He faces a Mjallby side in the next two games, a side that has scored only 2 goals in their last 4 home games. They haven’t found a suitable replacement for Ogbu yet, and, with Witry gone, he may have more offensive responsibilities given his crossing ability. Despite being one of the 5 highest scoring defenders this season, he’s owned by only 11.3% of managers.

Jonathan Ring (7.5)

The former Djurgårdens midfielder seems to have rediscovered his magic this season, as he’s about to equal his best season in terms of assists. Ring is relishing his role as an important player for Rydström’s side. He’s delivered 4 attacking returns in his last 7 matches. The underlying stats suggest he’s likely to score soon. Coming up is a tricky fixture versus Halmstads, but if Kalmar are to score, Ring is likely to be involved. He’s registered 10 shots in his last 5 games and more points are on the horizon as 2 of his 5 next games are against Östersunds and Degerfors, sides that are struggling defensively.

Daleho Irandust (8.9)

The highly-rated Häcken midfielder has only one year left in his contract at BK Häcken and chances are he will leave Allsvenskan at the end of the season, so he will want to leave his mark and help Häcken get a decent position. He’s created 4 chances in 3 games and he started the last game vs Östersunds having scored one goal assisted by Jeremjeff (9.4). Häcken is a very different offensive unit with Irandust in the side, as he’s the main source of creativity. He’s played only 183 minutes this season and yet he’s scored 2 goals and delivered one assist. He’s struggled with injuries in the past but as long as he’s fit, he should be taken into consideration. He faces a Degerfors side that has conceded 16 goals in their last 5 games. He sits in just 1.3% of registered squads, so if you’re looking for a punt, he can be the right man. A word of warning: he’s on 2 yellow cards already.

A benching dilemma: Ludwigsson, Jeahze and Joel Nilsson are all fighting for two starting spots in my team. Currently, Ludwigsson is on the bench (and Amoo starts). This is a bit weird with so much money on the bench…

According to the official fantasy site my gameweek rank is currently 2nd overall!

On 69 points currently 🙂 if I hadn't taken the (C) off Colak when I saw he wasn't starting I'd be 6 better off too, went with Berman in the end.

It’s been a while, but the IB is coming to a close. I am not sure about who to captain in the upcoming GW.

There are plenty of Captain options this gameweek for sure.

The Scout (Meltens) has picked out Oliver Berg of Kalmar as his armband choice this gameweek.

      https://allsvenskan.se/fantasy/scout-picks-gw28

I've got Berg but I'm not that keen on his away form even if it is away to Orebro.

For what it's worth I'm going to captain Adegbenro with VC on Colak who I've just transferred in.

      Good luck!

Cheers! Getting Berg would mean I have to transfer out Ludvigsson, who has a good fixture. I could captain Colak or Eriksson.

I have Eriksson as well but of the two I would go for Colak, well rested after his one match ban, at home and in with a shout of the golden boot if he can bang a couple of goals in. He's three goals behind Adegbenro who I fancy to score well this week so there's certainly some personal incentive there for Colak. Just my feel on it, Erikson is more consistent with only two 2 point matches to Colak's ten 2 point matches but you could argue that Colak is a bit more explosive with a few more games with more than one goal involvement than Eriksson. And at this stage of the season, unless you're in the top 20 overall, I tend to punt and hope for the best!

Yeah, Eriksson is the steady, low ceiling pick. Colak makes sense, but as a forward he is relying more on returns in comparison to mids like Eriksson who have a safety net in the form of bonus points and cs point. At this stage of the season I am trying not to risk it too much.

            Appreciate the feedback! Good luck!

Thanks for the GW 29 Scout Picks Petter:

    https://allsvenskan.se/fantasy/scout-picks-gw29

Armband on Walemark (C) and VC on Sylisufaj of IKS who I was sorely tempted to captain. For a 4.5m forward his returns of 26 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in his last three matches is quite incredible especially as he's only averaged 65 minutes per game in those three matches. Maybe he's turning on the style looking for a permanent move to IKS at the end of the season, what do you think of him Petter?

    1. General Nuisance

Walemark probably for me too, but Gothenburg players are also appealing. Norrköping too have a nice fixture away at Degerfors.
Thinking of ditching Ludwingsson and use one FT for one player from these teams.

All good moves, I'm rolling my transfer so I have two frees for the final gameweek and can punt on a few players who are chasing something.

Yeah, I need to burn one transfer, and Halmstad away is not that appealing.

Having two FT:s could be an advantage in the final round.

Yeah, with it being so tight at the top of the table there will be enough meaningful games to take some risks in GW 30 and generally speaking the final gameweek in most leagues produces a bumper amount of goals so targetting attackers chasing the title or a European spot is where I'll be looking. Be good to finish the season on a high and I'm 14 points off where I'd like to finish.

            Good luck for 29.

I agree. Small margins at the top, meaning getting differentials that delivers could be a huge factor.

              Good luck for 29!

Sorry I haven’t been active on the forum here lately, been very busy but it’s nice to see you’re still around!

Sylisufaj looks very good and the stats are encouraging as well, I wouldn’t cap personally given lack of minutes and no bonus but he’s a good pick I reckon 🙂

Decided to put the armband on Joel Nilsson for GW29 — really like the defender captaincies in Allsvenskan as opposed to FPL. Ack, as I type this, I have gotten my second penalty miss today (Magnus Eriksson, now Colak). Blergh.

This is my first season of Allsvenskan — has been great fun! Thanks to Petter and everyone posting Information and tips to help us out. I do have a question — in FPL, top 10K is a benchmark that many managers strive to achieve. Is there a benchmark in Allsvenskan that managers are shooting for? Perhaps top 100, given that there are only about 39,000 players as opposed to 8 million? I am currently just under 3K. Cheers!

Hi Jammer, as a rough rule of thumb, in all the fantasy football games I play I aim to finish in the top 1% so OR 390 or better in Allsvenskan, inside top 80,000 in FPL. That's just me personally and if I can manage that I reckon I've had a good season.

Cheers mate, happy to hear it!
I'd say a good finish in Allsvenskan Fantasy can't quite be judged in terms of absolute numbers of players in it, rather by the number of hardcore managers that continuously finish high up. Most of those aim for a top 1k finish as an equivalent to the classic top 10k FPL finish.

The manager base is small but devoted! 🙂

Managed to hold my second WC all the way to GW30!

Second half of the season has been fun - had nothing to lose but also didn't have to change my team drastically to climb the rankings. In the first 19 GWs I only found myself in the top 10k once, but 11 green arrows in the last 13 as it stands have helped me to around 5.5k. Wålemark the driving force, got him in as soon as I saw Irandust was leaving. Matthews, Kouakou and Wahlqvist also helped me out.

Nowhere near last season's final rank of 366, hopefully some points on Monday will set me up for a top 5k finish to avoid this being my worst Allsvenskan season. And of course another final day title decider would be nice.

Elfsborg-AIK was a fun watch, let's see if the latter do it again on the final day. Wildcard team:

    Eriksson
    Nilsson, E Larsson, Papa, Otieno
    Chilufya, Nalic, Eriksson, Wålemark
    Colak (K), Edvardsen

    Whiteman; Björk, Ondrejka, Ouattara

Apologies to Käck but Chilufya's my only season keeper. Could afford more nailed bench options but Ondrejka is one I can see doing well if he gets more playing time, want to be able to say I got there early. Good luck all!

Hi Petter, had two free transfers so out went Larsson and Sylisufaj and in come Sandberg and Stefanelli.

I've got Colak, Adegbenro, Amoo, Eriksson, Walemark, Birmancevic but I'm going to captain Stefanelli.

Sitting at OR 769 just now, was hoping to get into the top 395 (1%) but that's not likely to happen now.

Good luck mate and thanks for all the Scout picks.

Yeah I'm very happy considering I don't see any matches or read any match reports, I base my Captaincy and transfers solely on your Scout picks and stats (form). Whichever big-hitter I have that's at home and is on form gets the armband usually.

Interestingly I play the Eliteserien game as well and base my decisions on their Scout picks and form without eatching any games and I'm currently OR 872 in that game with two GWs left and the 'Rich Uncle' Chip left to play in the final gameweek.

Maybe I should apply these basic principles to my FPL game instead of spending hour upon hour watching, reading, studying the stats etc!

Thanks for the scout picks throughout the season Meltens! Like others I’ve held on to my attack attack chip to play in the last gameweek. Currently I have Colak, Adegbenro and Edvardsen. Is it worth moving any of them on for Stefanelli? I know Edvardsen was flagged at some point but that seems to have come off now. I have two free transfers and will use one to move J Larsson probably on to Strand, leaving one remaining.

    Allsvenskan Big Thanks.

First of all big thanks to Meltens (Petter) for all the Scout picks and continued contributions throughout the season, they were a huge help, especially all of the pre-season work.

And thanks to all those that joined in my Irish Times Koh Samui leagues, the competition was close and again very helpful for me. We had 43 in the league whereas before I played in a league of one. Samui is a small island.

Congratulations to Eytexi FF (James) who won both the Koh Samui Classic League and the Koh Samui H2H League, he ended up on an OR of 42 which was brilliant closely followed by FFS’s Geoff (OR 87). The top eight in the Koh Samui league all finished in the top 1K. I ended up 4th in that league with an OR of 616 which I thought was pretty decent and something to target next season.

Eytexi I’ll have a beer on the beach this afternoon in your honour and there will always be a cold one for you should you ever drift past this part of the world.

Cheers all and hope to see you again next year.

      Hi Johnny!

Thanks as always for the kind words 🙂
It was great fun to be in the Samui Leagues, kudos on the rank and beating me comfortably haha. Unfortunately I'm on a run of two really bad season's that coincided suspiciously well with creating more official content and becoming a dad 😉 Not making excuses by any means, been making some pretty poor calls for my own team but it's been a great time even without the results!

Hopefully the Scout Picks have been better though 🙂
Well played Eytexi and Geoff, amazing ranks!

Haha yeah with the amount of football he's been subject to since birth he is either going to love it or hate it, no in-between 😀

Lately I have still been enjoying FPL more because of the wild swings, a hit is far more likely to pay off there which suits my style better. Allsvenskan is a lot about the slow grind and making gradual improvements. I did spike Selmani, Stefanelli, Bertilsson points in GW30 but big time fail with Bahoui cap hehe. Would have been some face saved with a Selmani cap but just getting him in was very nice 🙂

Slightly worried about Bilva being my Oliver Berg blindspot but we'll see in the coming weeks. Never liked the stats of Berg but he just kept performing.

Know what you mean, I have three City already (cancelo, dias and foden) and have a few fires to put out (Toney, McCarthy, maybe Alonso) so I think I'll just swerve Bilva. I think with City, you make your choices and stick with them.

Sitting at OR 68,050 in FPL just now with Saka to play so at this stage of the season I'm okay with that.
