Fantasy Football Scout’s free-to-play Sorare Academy tournament is now open

Sponsored by Sorare

Welcome to the Sorare Academy! This is a new, free-to-play game developed in partnership between Fantasy Football Scout and Sorare.

Our goal is to make getting started on your Sorare journey easier, faster and more fun than ever before.

Let’s quickly explain the basics of the game and get you straight into the beta test of our free-to-play league experience so you can check it out for yourself.

Once settled in and ready, we can help you understand the deeper aspects of the game.

The Essentials

Sorare is about building a squad of players and competing against other managers. Imagine running a Fantasy Football team where you own the player cards for real! And you can trade directly with other managers to build your dream team.

Many of the world’s biggest clubs like Liverpool, AC Milan and Juventus officially licence Sorare player cards; you can’t find the genuine articles anywhere else. And more and more clubs are joining Sorare each month.

Sorare cards exist on the “blockchain” (more on that later). In practice, this means that when you add a player card to your collection, you become the certified owner of one of their very few official cards in existence.

Such scarcity means they have real-world value as managers strive to build their Fantasy squads. And elite, world-class players are very collectible in their own right. How much could an official one-of-a-kind Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland card be worth in years to come?

Each week you’ll pick your best team and enter the tournaments. And, if successful, you can win more cards to strengthen your squad and increase team value season after season.

Join Ignition – our free-to-play Sorare experience! And get your first free Limited edition card too.

To make trying out Sorare as easy as possible, we have created a unique free-to-play league experience.

You can select a team right now and enter it into the next tournament. It’s a chance to have some fun and get a feel for how the game works. And if you place near the top, you could win your first real cards and begin building a collection.

  • Go here and get straight into building your team. There are some pointers to help you choose on that page.
  • We will then guide you to the main Sorare website where you can create an account, personalise your club, and get your first free player cards for your collection too.
  • That’s it! Your team will be entered in the next Sorare Academy Ignition tournament and you can keep track of how your team are doing by logging in.

And, by joining through the Academy, you’ll qualify for a free Limited card if and when you pick up your fifth Limited card at auction. The auction is where you buy directly from the game, rather than from other managers.

Sorare rewards us for sending you their way at no cost to you, which is how we can afford to run the Academy.

For now, you might want to just enjoy Ignition and have some fun. Whenever you are ready, you can move on to our next guides to get a deeper understanding of the game.

We hope you enjoy competing in Ignition and getting started on your Sorare journey!

The UK government is planning to relax quarantine rules for red-list players ahead of the next international break. This would free Premier League players up to play World Cup qualifiers next month. [the athletic]

In a bit of a pickle, do I bench Bamford? Or take a -4 to transfer him out for someone else.

      Sanchez
      Trent - Rudiger - Livra
      Salah - Jota - Torres - Gray
      Bamf - Antonio - CR7

Bench: Steele - Sissoko - Marcal - Williams

would happily keep if Bielsa gave a time frame on recovery, but nothing. I might just take the hit for Sarr, those next 2 for Watford look good enough to justify the -4 imo

Think there should be an article on the following system issues:

Played GW4 WC to 3-4-3 structure with the plan to swap Ronaldo for Lukaku GW7/8 and go with 2 premiums.

I don't think this is the optimal system anymore due to:

      - Greenwood/Jota/Torres and a complete lack of other viable 7-11.5m mids
      - 3rd striker spot (with Ronaldo or Lukaku + Antonio) is now destroyed by injuries and even when DCL comes back his fixtures will turn

That leaves us with the following options:
      A) switching to 4-4-2 (with 2 premiums) and going heavy at the back with cancelo/alonso/dias/rudiger etc. Will take a few transfers to get there

      B) keeping 3-4-3/4-3-3 and getting Lukaku as the replacement for Bamford, but means it is extremely hard to then get city/Chelsea defs at the back and Ronaldo's fixtures are awful

      C) Keeping 3-4-3/4-3-3 and replacing Bamford with ASM/Armstrong, enabling us to load up at the back like option A but with one less transfer and a budget striker rather than a budget mid

Be interested to hear opinions on this

        • 11 Years

There are videos discussing it. At the moment the dearth of exciting mids in conjunction with the Big 3 conceding just one goal each does suggest 4 at the back and 3 premiums. However, if a couple of mids find a bit of form and the Big clubs start letting in a goal-a-game, you're scunnered.
My thinking is keep to 2 premiums and stay flexible to catch the changes.

i agree with the difficulty of the mid/upper price mids.
Basically between 7.5 - 12.0 is a big hole of nothingness at the moment.
5.5 - 6.5 seems where the value is, but then is there better value at that price in defense (or forwards too?)

i do think the decision to do 2x or 3x big hitters really dictates a lot
assuming a 3x big hitter strategy includes 2 at the front.

        i haven't WC'd and i just moved from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 (Bruno > Ronaldo swap).
i can see myself downgrading my 3rd forward (Jimenez) to a 6-6.5 and then using that to upgrade my defense, giving the option of 4-4-2 or 3-4-3 (or 4-3-3) depending on fixtures.

i really like the fluidity of this season so far.

A question to all, are Ronaldo's fixtures really as red as the ticker would suggest?

i have decided not - that they are all pretty good. but that's my opinion.
other than Chelsea or Man City I'm not stressed about too many teams with MU.

Maybe add Liverpool to that list too.

I think these teams may play into Uniteds hands. I think if the question was, are these teams red for Man United - Ronaldo, I'd have said yes, avoid.

          "It's Ronaldo!"
But seriously, those 3 games against the Big 3 are red.
The defences of Everton, Spuds though - nah.

To be honest with you, I'm pretty much of the opinion that he's a set and forget.

The guy is pretty much fixture proof, so not sure I'm going to even bother shippi g him out for the 'red' fixtures. Guy can literally haul against anyone.

I enjoy the community on here, and there is some excellent content put out (the scoutcast videos etc.) but promoting clear scam companies like this Sorare nonsense is really troubling. Wasn't this site trying to flog Football index last year which subsequently collapsed leaving players out of pocket.

Avoid like the plague is my advice to anyone tempted.

i agree in principle - especially with gambling.

i will say this "game" seems pretty similar to a lot of cell phone games where you collect things and compete virtually. they use micro-transactions linked credit cards rather than blockchain - so they seem more "real" sometimes. i think the ownership portion of this is kind of irrelevant to the game itself.

I'm not advocating for this game specifically - but do think it is different in some key ways than the Football Index - which was gambling straight up.
This seems more akin to Magic / collection-based games.

All of ASM's points have come at St. James'. His next 2 fixtures are away.

Um no he has an assist against United. Did u expect him to get a return in all 5 matches?

No, I'm just wondering if he's not worth the punt for the next 2, i.e. possibly not the best replacement for Bam.

I don't really trust Newcastle so I don't have him but I don't think being away has anything to do with him scoring or not.

Kinda stuck at the moment. Awaiting further reports to see how long he's out for. If it's one or two games, I think I'll park him and let Duffy and Livramento carry the can. It also depends on the state of Raphinha.
So at the moment it looks like wait until Saturday afternoon, and quite probably do nothing.

Start Coufal (Lee) or Liv (WOL)
I fancy Coufal more for attacking returns, but Liv more for a clean sheet...

      Save FT?

      Sanchez
      TAA Shaw Livramento
      Salah Bruno Sarr Gray Odegaard
      Ronaldo(C) Antonio

      Steele Ayling Tsimikas Scarlett

Right, someone, anyone tell me what would be a good move here as I am lost.. I have already used my FT, which in hindsight wasn't a great idea (hindsight is great isn't it), I've got 0.8m in the bank and 0FT, Bamford is definitely out.. do I bench him for Sissoko/Marcal or Williams..

or take a -4 to bring in someone else?

      Sanchez
      Trent - Rudiger - Livra
      Salah - Jota - Torres - Gray
      Bamf - Antonio - CR7

Bench: Steele - Sissoko - Marcal - Williams

      Good to go? No ft

      Sánchez
      TAA Semedo Rüdiger
      Salah Traoré Gallagher Jota Sissoko
      Antonio Ronaldo(c)

      Steele Bamford Jansson Williams

Feel like I have no idea what to do at the moment

      Sanchez (Foster)
      TAA Marcal White (Livramento *Amartey)
      Salah Jota Greenwood Benrahma (Brownhill)
      CR7 *Bamford Antonio
      *** = Problem players

0.9 itb, 1 FT. Any ideas? Originally I decided to save the transfer. Now I'm not sure if I should remove Bamford because if he's back next week I may still want him depending on the plan to bring Lukaku in (if it's CR7-->Luk), and I can just play 4 defenders this week.
