Fixtures

Double Gameweek 22 confirmed for eight teams

The revised fixture list for Double Gameweek 22 was announced by the Premier League on Thursday morning, with eight top-flight sides playing twice.

Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford are the clubs who have two fixtures in the upcoming Gameweek.

There is a caveat: this proposed schedule is subject to change should any FA Cup third-round matches involving these teams or their second Double Gameweek 22 opponents be postponed this weekend. In the event of that happening, the outstanding cup ties would be played in this free midweek instead.

GAMEWEEK 22 DOUBLES

  • Brentford: Liverpool (a), Man Utd (h)
  • Brighton: Crystal Palace (h), Chelsea (h)
  • Burnley: Leicester (h), Watford (h)
  • Chelsea: Manchester City (a), Brighton (a)
  • Leicester: Burnley (a), Spurs (h)
  • Man Utd: Aston Villa (a), Brentford (a)
  • Spurs: Arsenal (h), Leicester (a)
  • Watford: Newcastle (a), Burnley (a)

There is a real mixed bag of ‘doubles’ here, with Brentford’s two games unappealing and Chelsea and Spurs having far from straightforward tests.

The best pairings are arguably those of Watford and Burnley, although which players from these two clubs beyond Emmanuel Dennis (£6.1m) and/or Joshua King (£5.8m) represent attractive targets is another question.

Liverpool, West Ham United and even Everton, whose players some of us would have loaded up on ahead of Double Gameweek 21, have very decent ‘single’ Gameweeks, meanwhile, so as ever a balancing act would seem to be the way to go.

DATES AND TIMES OF THE ADDITIONAL FIXTURES

Tuesday 18 January

19:30 Burnley v Watford
20:00 Brighton v Chelsea

Wednesday 19 January

19:30 Leicester v Spurs
20:00 Brentford v Man Utd

Possible -8 for Salah, Gallagher, Gelhardt to Maddison, Cork and Ronaldo, and play the Bench Boost chip.

More likely just do Salah > Maddison

Locadia > Dennis with the FT probably. Which one for the hit?

    A) Dawson > Reggy
    B) Martinelli > Maddison

I feel like the DGW hasn't changed my plans too much but it has thrown a mini-spanner in my plans... 1FT & 7.8M ITB!

    DDG
    Trent (c), Cancelo, Johnson, Keane
    Son, Bernardo, Bowen, Gray
    Dennis, Antonio

    Steele, Mahrez, Gelhardt, Rudiger

Initially I was thinking about losing Mahrez and Rudiger for Robbo and someone like Jota or Maddison (no idea why Maddison after I've stopped and thought about it today). With Chelsea's defensive woes I think City could obliterate them in a show of "here's why we're the champions" and have been debating KDB for a few weeks (easy to switch to Salah upon his return).

I'm still happy with Bowen & Antonio 4th highest scoring team in the PL this year against the 3rd highest conceding team (Leeds). Cancelo/Bernardo already discussed. Gray.... It's Norwich. Dennis double. TAA speaks for himself and DDG has a DGW. (Would probably bench Johnson and Keane for the incoming Robbo & KDB.

    Thoughts/suggestions/what haven't I thought of?

Arguably on fixtures it's Manchester United and Burnley with the best looking double ups.

Then you consider form and where you want your transfers to go.

Still points to FH but speculative, as ever!

Yeah, potentially but Watford are rocky too.

          Could easily lose both.

As you say they do tend to score as well.

Real relegation shoot out for them and Newcastle mid season.

Even though people can plan I'm still not hitting any transfers or even a free hit until after the FA Cup 3rd round games complete.

So there's more info but still a wait and see situation.

Are people really going to free hit and not select Antonio and Bowen against Leeds at home ?

And if you will have them do you really need to free hit seeing as that’s already 2 slots + Taa, jota, cancelo taken up in your free hit team

    1. Mr. O'Connell

Looking at my team I think I have some "decent" DGWers already from the better teams.

Ronaldo, Son, Maddison, King, Davies, DDG, Alonso

Add to that the 5 you mentioned and it probably looks like the FH isn't worth it for me.

No way for me. One FT can get me

      DDG*/Bach*
      TAA Reggie* Cancelo
      Son*, Mount*, Bowen, Jota
      Dennis* Antonio Kane*/Ronaldo*

      Gray (NOR) Tierney, Livramento

Livramento to a dgw def (5.4m) -4 mean benching Cancelo, so unlikely to bother with that

The dgw teams could end up with a single gw and the sgw teams blanking.

Imagine if dgw22 becomes navigating bgw22!?

In that scenario it's chaos bur waiting until the FA Cup 3rd round concludes, or not as may be, on Monday is critical before any transfers.

I have 6 DGW players and will take -4 to do Salah > Ronaldo (C) and leave it at that I think.

Got Son, De Gea, Alonso, King, Reguilon… aside from Ronaldo there not really anyone that scares me enough to warrant FH.

Also will okay Bowen, Antonio and probably Raphinha, and bench Cancelo.

No for me. I'll have 3 DGW'ers (Sanchez, Rudiger and probably Son) and I'm good with it. No particularly exciting doubles with teams out of form (United), injuries (Leicester) and tricky 2nd fixtures (Spurs/Chelsea). Pot luck with the rest (Brentford, Watford, Burnley). I'll save mine for the inevitable scramble in the final quarter of the season.

I for one am happy with hose fixtures. if they were really nice fixtures, everyone would doing the same.

With those fixtures I can most probably play my FH and make decent gains whilst others will completely ignore some of the doubles. Brighton, Burnley & Watford give us some decent differentials

Liverpool & West ham can't be ignored as their single fixtures are too good. Otherwise the rest can be made up with teams that have a dgw.

The double week fixtures dont really change my thinking. 6 doublers, 3 players (TAA, Jota and Bowen) who have a single game have a great fixtures so wont be transfered out or even benched. The other 2 Cancelo and Foden I wont be selling either as they have great fixtures after the double. Wont be using a chip and in actual fact I may even roll the transfer as I dont see an obvious move.

Kind of similar spot to me (post on next page). Can consider FH, but my SGW players all have great fixtures (2x WHU, 2x EVE, 2xLIV, Cancelo). Unsure what to do with FT, or roll which feels crazy in a DGW.

    How's it going everyone?

Like plenty of others, I'm weighing up whether to Free Hit or not.

Even if I was to FH, I think I'd still leave it pretty late in case there are more postponements.

I currently only have 4 DGW players and I have Salah, so I'm tempted to FH at this stage.

    What do you reckon?

    1FT 0.1ITB
    DDG**
    TAA Cancelo Rudiger** Johnson
    Son** Jota Bowen
    King** Antonio Edouard

    Steele Gundogan Livramento (Salah)

    Thanks!

I went without Dennis on WC last week.. what a mistake that was, would you go Antonio to Dennis and upgrade Johnson to BB? Thanks all

      B easily.

Bernardo is an odd pick but now that you still have, he's worth holding onto because GW23-25 are strong for City.

    RMT tool:
Current team: 76 points, around 80 with 1ft.
Potential FH team: 102 points (kept TAA and Jota in starting XI)
Gain around 20 points. Worth it or just go with Bowen+Antonio and DCL Gray that have good fixtures in SGW?
