Double Gameweek 22 match between Burnley and Leicester postponed

Burnley and Leicester City will now only have a ‘single’ Gameweek at best after the Premier League confirmed on Friday that Saturday’s match between the two clubs has been postponed.

This time it was the Clarets who submitted a postponement application due to a number of injuries and Covid-19 cases within their first-team squad.

Sean Dyche’s side are, of course, also scheduled to be in action next Tuesday against Watford, so it remains to be seen whether the situation at Turf Moor has improved sufficiently for that fixture to go ahead.

Leicester’s one and only Gameweek 22 match is now at home to Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday.

This latest postponement means that Burnley and Leicester now each have four outstanding league fixtures to rearrange, with the Foxes’ Gameweek 27 match against Chelsea now needing to be rescheduled due to the Blues qualifying for the EFL Cup final on the same weekend.

Kinda lost now. Any help much appreciated:

    Lloris
    TAA, Cancelo, Dias, Coufal, Cash
    Salah, Jota, Foden, Bowen, Gray
    Watkins, Antonio, Broja

    Broja, Cash, **Salah**

Just Broja to Dennis? Honestly, just do nothing at this point and save ft?

Yeah, was considering that move until the Burnley covid. Not sure how great Newcastle away even is with the place bouncing, critical game and a few new recruits

    My team is

    Ramsdale
    TAA Reg Alonso Cancelo
    Jota Bowen Son Gray
    Ronaldo Watkins

    Steele Lowton Foden Scarlett

Provided that pressers confirm that Ronnie's injury isnt anything major and is likely to play vs Brentford, I may just do Son to KDB with my FT and captain KDB. I think hes going to haul vs Chelsea

That's a left field one. Why KDB over Bruno?

      1. mrelpea
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 2 months ago

Mainly due to KDB looking like he's back to beast form. Even Pep said that he looks close to being back to best, where as Bruno hasn't looked that great for while. The only thing that could swing it back into Bruno's favour is if Ronnie is confirmed out for both DGW games as Bruno would be back on pens

Tuchel has a good record against City. They have been really tight games.

Triple Chelsea defence for me on a FH - King capper

That's a brave one, but I'd rather go triple Chelsea defense than United defense, that's for sure. I'd check pressers for any hints about the Watford Burnley match being postponed given Burnley's injuries etc That's coming up on Tuesday already

Agreed, they are normally tight affairs, but Chelsea's defense isn't quite what it was last season, which gives me hope. Also, I read that Christensen has tested positive for covid, so won't play this game. That only leaves them with Rudi, Alonso, Azpi, Silva and Sarr as recognised defenders. i know that Pulisic can step in as wing-back etc but not ideal preparation for an important match

Morning all. Bit unsure who to put in. Son + Salah out but to who? Get Kane in? 2FT + 0m ITB. Stuck on midfield options. Cheers.

    DDG
    Reguillon - Lamptey - TAA
    Maddison - Salah - Jota - Son - Bowen
    Antonio - King

    (Foster) - Cancelo - Broja - Livra

Start King (obviously not bringing in Dennis now for a hit)..

    Or

    Start Gallagher.

Knowing the risks associated with Watford Burnley, that would make Gallagher a better option surely, even if King has Newcastle?

Deadline is way before potential cancellation.

    Help please.

So the premier league allowing Burnley to have their game postponed because they dont have enough 1st team players?

At what point do the premier league just turn around and say well you will have to utilise the reserve/youth team players and just get on with it!?

All they are doing is creating a massive fixture pile up problem that is snowballing with every postponement. Its an utter farce.

Something will have to change. It should be based on age. If you have 15 players over 21 then play.

100% agreed. Injuries shouldn't come into this at all. It should be that only players that have a confirmed (by a third party) PCR test count towards the numbers that are taken into account.

I'd take a gamble and start Foster, if he doesn't play either of the 2 games, Guaita will come in as auto sub for you.

You'd be unlucky if Foster doesn't start but then comes on as a sub.

Don;t know what to do here:

    Ramsdale
    Cancelo TAA Davies
    Jota Maddison Foden Bowen
    King Ronaldo (c) Watkins

    Foster Livra James Smith-Rowe

I've got one FT and £3.9 in the bank. Will Foden & Ronaldo play is it worth shipping them out for Kane and Mount? Any other ideas - Livra James need to go at some point too...

Of course we can't be sure of pretty much anything at this point, but is United actually likely to have their double or Villa/Brentford seem to be in problems too? I really didn't want Bruno in my team, but better him than keeping Salah for nothing I reckon
