Suspensions

Which FPL players are nearing a two-match ban?

Our Suspension Tightrope article takes a look at the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who are nearing a two-match ban for the accumulation of 10 yellow cards.

There are currently no players suspended in the English top flight, with Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) serving the second match of a two-game ban on Friday – but the Mexican and Wolverhampton Wanderers now blank in Gameweek 33 anyway.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF A PLAYER GETS 10 YELLOW CARDS?

Dennis sent off as Watford collapse in FPL Double Gameweek 23 opener 2

Any Fantasy asset who collects 10 cautions in the Premier League before their team has completed 32 fixtures will serve a two-match ban in the same competition.

Punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

PLAYERS ON 8/9 YELLOW CARDS

Gameweek 32 was a big weekend on the suspension front as many FPL assets are now free of the threat of a two-match ban.

In fact, there are now only five players who are at risk of suspension.

Two of them are on Burnley’s books. Semi-popular bench fodder option Josh Brownhill (£4.3m) will need to get through the Clarets’ next two matches without a booking to avoid being slapped with a two-game ban, while James Tarkowski (£4.9m) only needs to dodge two cautions in as many matches to avoid the same fate.

Tyrone Mings (£5.0m), Scott McTominay (£5.4m) and Yves Bissouma (£4.4m) are also on the precipice, although McTominay is currently injured anyway.

The likes of Conor Gallagher (£6.1m) and Matthew Cash (£5.3m), plus everyone bar Tarkowski on eight yellow cards, can no longer be banned for two matches as a result of yellow card accumulation.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

For Bissouma, Tarkowski, Brownhill and McTominay, the cut-off point is Gameweek 33.

Mings will be in the clear after Gameweek 34:

TeamMatches played32nd league fixture
 AVL31GW34
BHA31GW33 (first fixture of the double)
MUN31GW33 (first fixture of the double)
BUR30GW33 (second fixture of the double)

Keep your eyes peeled on our Suspension Tightrope widget on our home page over the coming weeks, as we’ll be updating that after every Gameweek to keep you informed on the latest disciplinary developments.

Any decent DGW players for captain?
Leicester seem to be too rotation friendly
Arsenal seem to have fallen off the rails. no Partey = no party
Newcastle too risky with wood 2 goals in 16
    Burnley struggling for goals
    Southampton on the beach

Bruno Fernandes is the best captain imo.

We've seen what he can do back in GW22. He's nailed and has NOR as one of his doubles.

      None IMO

Bruno's Case - Man u got ruined by Liv in the previous fixture and they scored a meager 1 goal against norwich. Their form has yet to improve and somehow has gotten worse over time.

i would prefer to (c) a single GWer instead tbh

agree 100%.. Bruno has a SGW basically.. and given the form he and UTd are in, I wouldnt count on it

Advice appreciated chaps, little lost after a bad week. 2 FT, 1M ITB, only BB left which am saving for DGW36.

    Pope*
    Robertson, Cancelo, James, White*
    Salah, Havertz, Kulusevski, Saka*
    Kane, Broja*

    (Foster, Doherty**, Ramsey**, Watkins**)

Thinking Salah & Ramsey -> Son & Maddison. Then Doherty, Watkins, Foster & Broja -> Matip, Pukki, Schmeichel & Cucho leading up to DGW26 (and White -> Laporte if City double in 36 rather than 37).

    Cheers.

    A)
    Ramsdale

    Kulu, Salah, Madds, Saka
    Kane, Broja, Weg

    B)
    Dubravka,

    Kane, ASM

This is set up for 33- put myself in a bit of a bench dilemma. How does team look and is bench correct? Or play Broja ahead of anyone (Justin my .4% owned differential)

    * double week players - not many but most players in team have good single

    Schmeichel*

    Thoughts? 0.9 ITB

    Ramsdale
    TAA Robbo Targett White
    Saka Kulu Salah Maddison
    Kane Nacho

    Sanchez Mateta Ait Nouri Ramsey

Not sure where to go with moves for this week, 2 bench players with no game so maybe cover one of them? Son could do some serious damage to me if he hauls again as well.

    1 FT & 1.5m

Absolutely disastrous last 4 gameweeks. Gone from 10k to 25k.

    Salah Saka** Kulusevski Maddison©**
    Kane Weghorst** Broja**

My fifth mid is Jacob Ramsey but he blanks so should I use my FT to take him out (for a mid that costs 6.8 or less).

I am considering BB this gw then WC 34 for the run in. Therefore is Salah -> Bruno a good option and this would allow me to upgrade my Ramsey replacement

Playing BB this week and have 2FT's plus willing to take a hit to get hopefully 15 starters. What do you think of these moves or would you suggest anyone else?
    Raphinha > Maddison
    Coutinho > Foden
    Doherty > Laporte

    0.3 flex in the budget

    Gives me:
    Ramsdale
    TAA / Cancelo / Laporte
    Salah / Foden / Saka / Kulusevski / Maddison
    Kane / Wood

    Dubravka / Schar / White / Broja

Nice plan. I'd be tempted for Barnes over Foden due to the double (and Foden not retuning much these days).

I'd say consider a DGW defender over Laporte but as long term, that makes sense for you.

yeah Barnes could be a nice pick instead of Maddison although I'm not sure I want to double up on Leicester mids. Can't seem to stretch to De Bruyne (unless I did Dewsbury Hall & 4.3 defender as my other transfers) but i appreciate Foden is a gamble
