West Ham v Arsenal team news: Nketiah starts, White out, Martinelli recalled

There’s one more Premier League match still to come on Sunday and it sees Arsenal attempt to regain their top-four spot at West Ham United.

Kick-off in east London is at 16:30 BST.

We were expecting plenty of alterations from David Moyes given that this match falls in the middle of a two-legged Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt and while he has made five changes from Thursday, the rotation wasn’t as widespread as perhaps we initially thought.

Lukasz Fabianski returns in goal in place of Alphonse Areola as expected, while Vladimir Coufal, Ryan Fredericks, Mark Noble and Said Benrahma start instead of Ben Johnson, the suspended Craig Dawson, Tomas Soucek and Michail Antonio.

Kurt Zouma, who made a shock early return from injury in midweek, starts his second match in less than 72 hours at the heart of the Hammers’ defence.

West Ham aren’t the only team dealing with upheaval at centre-half.

Arsenal are missing the influential Ben White today, with the stopper not risked because of a tight hamstring.

Cedric Soares and Emile Smith Rowe also drop out, as Takehiro Tomiyasu, Rob Holding and Gabriel Martinelli come in for the Gunners.

Eddie Nketiah gets the nod up front for the fourth match in a row, meanwhile.

GAMEWEEK 35 LINE-UPS

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tavares, Xhaka, Elneny, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah.

Subs: Leno, Lacazette, Smith Rowe, Cedric, Pepe, Sambi Lokonga, Oulad M’hand, Swanson, Kirk.

Captain Son to the rescue this GW. The (C) choice needs to be thought out. Salah and de Bruyne were both rotation risks with Champions League midweek.

My model, for what that's worth, has Schmeichel 12.2, Sa 8.8, for delta of 3.4 pts, over GW36 and GW38. RMT has Schmeichel 11.5, 9.5 for a delta of only 2.

Sa has Chelsea away, City at home, and Liverpool away in those 2 GW's. Oooof.
Schmeichel has Everton, Norwich, and Southampton all at home, so I would say he has a reasonably good shot at at least one CS as Sa's chances are about as close to nil as one could imagine. Sa will get plenty of chances for save pts I suppose.

I'd venture that my model will be closer to the end result (I typically find the RMT algorithm to be pretty suspect, which is why I developed mine in the first place), but with a 3.4 pts projected gap and a pretty high margin of error over a two GW sample, I'd say go with your gut because it's pretty much a coin toss.

Also for what it's worth, my one transfer this week is Pope to Schmeichel. Good luck, whatever you decide.

I think you could reasonably expect Foster to outscore Dubravka by 4+ this GW, but probably not for 3 GW's (Dubravka averaging 3.7 PPM, Foster 2.9), so in the end, probably not worth it

My team is pretty dire - a mix of bad luck and bad decisions but that’s FF for you.

    Sa
    Rudiger Matip Cash
    Salah Kulu Maddison Raf Saka
    Weg Kane
    Subs- Dub Schlar Raphinha Kilman
    BB /TC

Thinking BB is best choice but need to take at least -4 but could be -12 if I really cleared out the dross.
    Kilman, Adams ➡️ Richarlison, Mings

Following week is TC and another couple of changes with Zaha coming in for definite.

Kane + Martinelli + Mount to Nketiah + KDB + Foden for a -4 good moves?

It would give me team below for DGW36. I’m FHing in 37 so I will get at least Son in then as he’s killing me atm.

    Foster
    Trent - Robbo - James - Cancelo
    Salah (c) - Kulu - Saka - KDB - Foden
    Nketiah

    Bench: Dubravka; White, Broja, 4.5
