Aston Villa v Liverpool team news: Salah benched, Robertson out

Double Gameweek 36 continues this evening and there is plenty of interest in both sides from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective.

Aston Villa v Liverpool gets underway at Villa Park at 20:00 BST.

Mohamed Salah finds himself among the substitutes for the visitors, while Andrew Robertson misses out completely.

Salah is the most-captained player of Gameweek 36 both overall and within the top 10,000, with 84.46% of the leading managers handing him the armband:

The premium pair are among five players who drop out of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI from Saturday’s draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Also making way are Ibrahima Konate, Jordan Henderson and Thiago, with Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota taking their places.

Roberto Firmino makes his return as a substitute after six matches out with a foot injury.

Steven Gerrard, meanwhile, makes two changes from the 3-1 win at Burnley, including a recall for Philippe Coutinho against his former club.

Marvelous Nakamba also comes into the starting XI, with Calum Chambers and Emiliano Buendia dropping to the bench.

    Glad to see Firmino on the bench! Considering him for FH37 - think he'll be working back to match fitness between now and then, and playing him that game also allows a rest for one of Mane/DiazSalah/Jota ahead of Champs League final.

        Neither normally, but we'll see how he gets on from the bench tonight and if he features at the weekend. Frees up a space in midfield on my FH too as I would take him over Salah for a differential gamble!

      Arteta said White should be available for Thursday, Tuchel said whatever happened with Alonso happened and was finished after HT the other day and is done with

      Arteta presser tomorrow, iirc he said White had a chance for Spurs as he was back on grass over the weekend.

      Chelsea has said the Tuchel/Alonso bust up isn't what it was made out to be.

      Doubt many expected him to be benched, but in fairness, in current form, he wasn’t the best pick.

      Good to see those scared to waver from Salah (c) being punished in recent weeks and the likes of Son(c) last week, being rewarded for being brave.

    Totally done my boots this week. Had sold Salah, had KdB in last week who obviously was benched. Got itchy feet and swapped back at 12.30 Saturday to Salah for a hit! Couldn’t live with not having Salah v Spurs and it ruining my weekend. I’m such a fool it’s all played out exactly as I thought it might!

    Only silver lining is I got Richarlison in a week early for Werner.
