The 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season is almost upon us, with Arsenal visiting Crystal Palace in tonight’s big kick-off.

As a result, the questions on team drafts, specific players, captaincy picks and differentials are coming thick and fast in the comments section, so we’ve asked five-time top 1k finisher and Scout’s Deputy Editor, Tom Freeman, to answer some of your conundrums over the next 60 minutes.

He’ll be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up.

If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

As ever, you can chip in with your own opinions on the raft of RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, feel free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

      For me, not to start the season. He should do well against Everton, but Spurs looks like a 1-pointer.

      If you like him, I’d go with Trippier, keep $1 mil in the bank, and switch after GW2.

          Think this is the longest my draft has sticked since I made my team, but here goes:

          Ward (Iversen)
          TAA Perisic Walker Trippier (Neco)
          Salah KDB Kulu Aaronson (Andreas)
          Jesus Vardy (Archer)

          Plan is Kulu -> Foden GW2 -> Saka GW3 if no other pressing matters. Good to go?

            Looking good. Love the KDB inclusion and gives you options for Son/sterling if needed.
            Kulu would be my doubt but if shipping after GW1 then you GTG

              Cheers! Yeah he was first on my team and got a good feeling about him. Gives me the option of KDB -> Sterling and Vardy -> Haaland/Kane as well.

                I've got Son for the same reason - will likely move him to KDB in coming weeks. Good to have that flexibility for the high priced midfielders

            Planning on doing a similar start with Kulu and end up with Saka by gw3 (see post below)

            KDB and Vardy is certainly different from many combinations seen on here. Hope it pays off for you.

            Really not a fan of the double 4.0 keepers. Maybe find 0.5 to fix that?

              Yeah it's my biggest concern. Really want Sanchez/Ward combo, but it would mean sacrificing Perisic for Doherty f.x, or Trippier for Dalot.

          Think I'm now set with my team structure. Final decision to be made - which is the best way forward:

          A - Kulu and Haaland (Kulu becomes Saka/Foden/Mahrez in gw2 with Saka ready for gw3)
          B - Saka and Kane (Kane becomes Haaland in gw2)
          C - Saka and Haaland (no transfers booked ahead)

          B and C will mean going with triple Arsenal attack from the start

          TAA Robbo Cancelo Trippier
          Salah ****** Martinelli Bailey
          ***** Jesus

          Usual fodder on bench and 0.5itb
