Not saying I’m going to do it but this wildcard team looks good:

    Ward
    TAA | Cancelo | Trippier | Saliba
    KDB | Saka | Kulu
    Haaland | Darwin | Mitrovic

    Iversen | Andreas | Patterson | Colback

Patterson could be out next week. WC last week scorers always looks good but usually a waste

In this case though? Kulu proved how important he is and kept going from where he left off. Mitro scored two against arguably the best team in the league. Darwin surely starts given his impact off the bench in successive games. Saliba looks a no brainer at his price and with his bonus potential.

I gambled on Darwin. Mitrovic was flop last time Fulham got promoted. Kulu must be competing with Richarlison at some stage and not scoring goal like that every week. I have Martinelli and Jesus. What's to say Saka triple up not the go with upcoming fixtures. If Arsenal scoring goals def less likely for bonus

One match a season does not make etc

But, Kulu really does look sharp. Hard to see how Richarlison comes in. Wilson also looked very good - Bruno G going to gift him goals.

I tinkered & tinkered with 2 striker formations & Darwin placeholders but only really settled on my team once I decided to go for Haaland, Darwin & Jesus.

Haven't seen the Chelsea game yet but maybe I should have stuck with my first instinct to be wary of them. James was a last min replacement for Perisic - but it was nearly Digne so thankful for that at least!

Planned to roll but I'm really happy with the team overall & don't really see myself needing 2 FTs for anything major in GW3 so I'll mull over Mount - Kulu/Diaz(/Foden?) during the week

Chelsea was horrible. How are they having problem defending when they already have 8 defenders on the field.

Oh nice idea. I was quite unhappy with Trip yesterday. He gave me the CS points but was awful in attack. I really want to see the next Villa game. For some reason I thought they might be one of the better defences in the league considering the nice backline they have.

But If I wanted CS points Walker is the best 5m defender for that. :/ I don't mind the points. Just like to see good performances since performances will translate into points.

Oh you watched a lot yesterday! Havent seen Newcastle either but noticed Trippier ranks top of all players for touches in opponents half & second for crosses. And picked up bonus pt without G/A so not too shabby

Yup :). Wanted to scout a little. The stats are not showing the entire picture. He couldn't get simple passes right. Same with James. He was horrible. Tuchel was so annoyed with him that he might change his corner taker. For some reason FPL needs to change their system. It's like a very different game to what actually transpires. For example in the Arsenal game, Andersen from Palace was the best player on the field but got nothing in FPL points. Their system for points giving might need to be tweaked. James gets 2 bonus for doing absolutely nothing is shocking.

Not that I could even pretend to explain the bonus system, but you'll get a feel for it soon - tends to go to the same players over & over. James & Trippier will be thereabouts even when not at their best

Lol yeah. I read their rules section on their website. Points for their BPS system for random crosses etc. Mo had a horrible game and still ended up with all the points 🙂

Can't understand the hate on James' performance. Didn't put a foot wrong defensively and didn't give the ball away carelessly. Created at least three chances which ended in shots on target. Yes he whipped in a lot of balls which came to nothing but that's the volume you want to see and just takes one or two of those to fall for a haul. Bizarre negativity imo.

Quite clearly for selfish reasons isnt it. Many on here dont own him, and want others to sell him for the price fall

His overall game was ok but his set piece delivery was shocking.

Took like 12 corners and none found their target. Such a waste, wouldn’t be surprised to see him lose them in future.

For some reason my score 49(2 more to play) seems like a low score. I guess it feels low since last season I got 105 as GW 1 score.

    1. The Knights Template

You can always look back on gw1 score last season - I guess. Even though it’s a poor score relatively speaking, and reflects poorly on you as a manager, I still have faith you can turn it around. No improvement by Sept though and you’re gone.

To be fair though a lot of those players that were talked about a lot pre season failed in GW1 at least. At least so far. Bailey, Neto, Jesus,Kane and so on.

    TAA - Robbo - Cancelo - Perisic - Trippier
    Salah - Saka - Bailey
    Haaland - Jesus

Only have Jesus of those but definitely holding. In your position I would roll since it would handy to have 2 FTs to change Bailey after Everton. Give him that game at least. Palace at home should be a CS for Robbo & Jesus has dreamy fixtures to come

Thanks - makes sense. Kulu has Chelsea away anyway and so can easily wait until GW3 to bring him in when fixtures turn. We'll also know if Perisic starts against Chelsea and so he could be a downgrade option.

It sets the tone though, tis a psychological game and a poor gw1 score is very hard to come back from. Best play a chip early days as a confidence-building measure.

No, relatively speaking I've had a decent first week so far but I'm always guilty of chasing last week's points. Darwin looked great though, despite trying the same backheel at least twice! (One of them went in of course)

When, not if, the TAA haul comes you will reflect on this post and wish it scrubbed from the recorde. Digital archeologists a thousand years hence will giggle at this and it will be displayed in a museum next to Dante’s Divine Comedy.

        Mark my words.

We'll be ripping up the Liverpool squad.

Plenty of defensive options at Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs and Manchester City.

        Gw3 rebellion.

Trent and Robbo will score points but Nunez could be a FPL points machine and Diaz is so slick. They could tear it up.

Even if Lpool defence underperforms, I feel like Trent and Rob are sort of like wingers. they will perform better than all the mid options available. But that's just my opinion. If you have Matip and Van Dijk though then there are a lot more options from other teams.

Agree, I only have TAA and Salah so plenty of room for Noonan or Diaz. Both of whom I like very much. I took a punt on Sterling, who will be easy enough to downgrade if he doesn’t pull his socks up soon.

Hmm let's see. They've got some pretty solid looking home games but if they're not keeping CS v Palace/Bournemouth then maybe we reevaluate placing their defence on the same sort of level as City

I don't think Haaland can be contained. KDB gives out too many dangerous balls for him to tap in one. A goal a game for Haaland wouldn't even be impressive.
