Game is totally broken yes? "Full" and daily versions? Half the players who should have scored haven't?

Not broken, just slow to update. First game so should be a bit quicker after subsequent games.

Cool, so can use 1 transfer to drop Kane to cheapo, that locks Kane pts but gives funds to use the other transfer to the take cheapo mid up to Kev?

Hmmm, 100% not cheating, just can't quite believe this is possible. To be clear, I haven't got Kane! The mechanic is interesting tho.

Finally something to think about. The FPL game has gone in opposite direction making it simple and accessible as poss, which is understandable, if stale.

That said, guessing they just messed up this game!

Cheating probs too stronger word. Taking advantage of the game developers ineptitude maybe.

End of the day, there is no prize for winning it etc so why not just play it with a straight bat?

It's not really that good. If you drop Kane you lose his points. But it allows you to take another shot on a premium. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. You can only have 11 scoring players for the week.

You keep kane points it’s the budget players who points you don’t get.

Later rounds when you got more transfers are going to be a mess at the moment you only really getting 1 extra premium points but as the game goes into later rounds and you got more transfers it’s going to be a disaster.

Sounds like if Kane is locked his pts remain, you don't have to put him on the bench to put Kev on, just bench your worst scoring players, not necessarily either of Kane/ Kev (using that example).

Fair play, I was thinking the opposite - struggled signing up on a FIFA website, but may as well enjoy the interesting part.

It's going to get a bit mad when WCs, R16, available transfers increase.

I built my team do this. I did mention here pre-deadline. I’m not sure why more people weren’t planning for this. It says in the rules you can do your two transfers and unlocked for unlocked will be immediate points and locked players points are kept. For all the flaws of this game this was a viable strategy if you read the rules. It shows if a couple of content creators don’t pick it up the masses won’t notice.

The rules on paper say you can do this and did the whole time. The fact so few people clocked it shows how community led these games are and how few read the rules (as bad as they are) and make their own strategy. If FFS or Andy had picked on this nobody would be surprised now

Feel I'm out the loop with this flaw in the WCFF.

the example is the KDB and Kane transfer. During the GW is it you can use the 2 FT's (not wait until the GW has finished) and score points from the player you've transferred out and the player you bring in?

    1. gart888
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 2 months ago

      Yup.

After Kane plays you transfer him for a cheap forward that has already played. Kane's points are locked into your lineup
Then (before KDB plays) you transfer a cheap midfielder out and bring KDB in using the money you got from the Kane transfer. And because KDB isn't locked yet, you get to play him.

      Total clown show.

        That is not correct.
From the rules: "However, you are able to sub out a locked player from your lineup for an unlocked player on your bench. If you do this, you will lose the points for the subbed out player from your team score (this deduction will be applied when the next fixture in the Matchday commences). You will receive the points for your subbed in player when they begin playing in the Matchday."

Think most of their international matches are played in the MCG, Perth, Adelaide, Stadium Australia, Dockland stadium and such. And I think the plan also was to use these grounds, expand some of their smaller grounds and may be build one stadium. And as you say, I find them a sports mad country during my visits there. Think the atmosphere would've been a lot more electric over there.

The short of it is Qatar only got the WC because they bribed FIFA officials better than other host bids. I think that’s a good enough reason tk have not awarded it.

The long of it … Awarding Qatar the WC when at the time they had one stadium, knowing full well the new stadiums and infrastructure would be constructed using indentured immigrant labor where their treatment would be terrible was a decision FIFA made.

            That was inexcusable.

That they awarded this WC so early such that the leadership at the time could collect additional bribes before cycling out was gross.

They awarded a WC to a place where the climate would be dangerous to play in the middle of summer - and it’s reasonable to expect they knew it would be moved to winter, thus interrupting players and leagues dramatically.

Also the whole ‘never qualifying for the WC’ thing too.

“…bribed fifa officials better than other host bids”

Welcome to the way of the world. This is nothing new, not the first and not the last.

Russia and China before Qatar and the USA to host the next.

              All bribed up for sure.

Only highlighting the points you like, and that too is inaccurate. World Cup in Russia was played in summer and didn't disrupt the league season all across Europe. And when has China hosted a World Cup?

                Yep. Doesn’t make it right.
Hence all the other issues too.

And it’s possible for multiple things to be bad at once!

And thinking one thing is bad doesn’t mean someone thinks another thing is good by default!

Not just bribing FIFA officials.....also leaning heavily on prime ministers and leaders to influence votes in their favour.

Thailand and France were noted in the FIFA uncovered doc as receiving favourable gas and energy deals if their FIFA rep voted for Qatar's bid. These FIFA members were pretty much coerced by their government into voting for Qatar.

The whole saga is quite vomit inducing.

Hope Qatar get absolutely battered by Senegal and Netherlands in their next games and leave in disgrace

Lol. These type of posts amuse me.

How do you think the US, Russia and China all got their respective World Cup and Olympic bids accepted?

By being fare and honest? Lol

On an extra note, seeing as half the US population is anti LGBT and only today a gunman murdered 5 in a Colorado GAY bar, I wonder if the likes of Joe Lycett will shred another 10k nearer the time? 🙂

Would you blame Australia for cheating if they had gotten this WC? FIFA is corrupted, that is no news. But shouldn't we at least try to make this world to be a better place, instead of pure disgrace.

US, Russia and China are all large, highly populated countries with the infrastructure in place to hold a sporting event of such scale. US and Russia at least have qualified previously....even getting as far as the semi finals of past tournaments.

Qatar was never ever a good or reasonable choice to hold a summer World Cup which had to get moved to the winter months because of the high temperatures. Never qualified or even been close to qualifying. Small (albeit incredibly wealthy) country in the desert completely unsuitable to holding a world cup where close to a million people attend. Not even enough accommodation to host fans.

Politics and money completely dominated that decision. I'm aware this is par for the course for most things but there is absolutely zero sense and zero sporting merit behind the decision to award the World Cup to Qatar. It's a tournament for the incredibly wealthy and feels more disconnected from the people than any other sporting event I can remember.

You do realise England was also noted in the report for breaking anti-collusion rules and was cited for offering Thailand a friendly match in return for it's vote. There's no one clean in this mess.

Basically, if you do this when on WC u'll have a budget over 200m, don't think that was a part of the design...

Figured why I couldn't sub player and only see Captain. In 2 different browsers player profile cut off and no scroll arrow on player pop up so had to reduce browser view to 80% or less on either. What a joke
