Wait and see what MU show up against Porto tomorrow and make your decision. If it's more of the same from the last 2 matches(specially against Spurs), play Konsa.

Roll or defender transfer to bench ESR this GW. Fulham fixtures from 8 onwards are pretty decent

I would roll. I know ESR is not going to score this week but Fulham's fixtures aren't too bad afterwards

We have exactly the same starting front 7. Bench is different and so is defence (Pope, Saliba, Konaté and Robinson). I am looking at doing Pope to Raya, Robinson to somebody else and ESR to McNeil or Semenyo, probably in that order. Not sure if that helps you at all?

Depends what Spurs and Brighton turn up and the ref. Brighton are good when they get a bit of rhythm, pass the ball around and take some chances. Don't seem fond of robust opposition who can bully them.

If there was a non-playing 4.0 mid (anyone remember Shane Ferguson?) this season, would you buy him?

I think I definitely would. 0.5m right now would help my team quite a lot. It's easy to justify Rogers as an 8th attacker if it's only 0.5m more than the minimum. But 1m more? Would be interesting to see.

I don't think that changes anything. With 5 subs, unless a player is injured, they are most likely coming on. Bench jam is so rare nowadays because of this.

            • 11 Years

Good managers rarely get bench jam, they get their 11 out through being informed.

Yeah, maybe I'm just looking at my choices this GW as an example. If we didn't think Diaz starts then I have a choice of Diaz to Foden or Johnson, bench Diaz for Rogers or play Diaz. I think I would feel more pushed into a transfer if I only had a token cheap 8th attacker.

True. But I like using transfers so I'd pick the option of Diaz > Foden or Johnson even if I had an 8th attacker I think.

I'm quite happy to live with a non playing 4.5 forward and have playable defenders (who can always make up an 11 unlike mids and forwards). For one thing it helps me avoid looking at the lower end strikers that I never seem to get right.

Would certainly consider him, particularly if VDB remains playing.

You so rarely get to the 3rd sub & money is tight this year.

Dibling at 4.5 was a no brainer for me on WC.

        Not for me.

Much prefer having a reasonable bench option, particularly now we can roll up to 5 transfers. That way you can carry an injured player for a couple of weeks. Plus benchjam - for instance 2 weeks ago I had ESR's points off the bench for Jota's blank.

And there are several good cheap options who rotate nicely, no need to carry a non-playing mid or forward.

I see a lot of well respected CCs advocate 2 Man C defenders and Haaland but of course they fall into the Foden-Blocking trap.
