After assessing the Defence and Midfield numbers over the last four matches, we turn our attentions to up front this evening. A number of double Gameweek options arrive under analysis, including Everton, City and Newcastle’s main men, whilst we also compare Arsenal and United’s strikers and doff our cap to Tottenham’s man of the moment after a series of scintillating displays.

honestly I don't think selling Alderweireld is overly silly..Spurs need to win games and that means scoring goals and cleansheets are worthless without 3 points..

Stoke has to defend more than attacking since Butland wouldn't be able to help them as much as he could

    Thoughts...

    GW32 WC
    Robles, Elliot
    Bellerin, Cresswell, Simpson, Rojo, Sakho
    Mahrez, Payet, Ozil, Sanchez, Lennon
    Aguero, Lukaku, Rashford
    3.2M ITB

GW32 - Play Elliot (Nor A); Lennon or Rashford to join Rojo/Sakho on bench

GW33 - play 3 x Everton DGW; Lukaku TC (unless form looks off); Save FT

GW34 - Lennon to Firmino/Coutinho/Lallana (OR Rashford to Martial if L'pool mids stink); Play BB. Save 1FT

GW35 - 2 FTs to play 11 - likely Cresswell to one of Azpi/PVA/Janmaat/Spurs and Lukaku or Rashford to playing attacker I can afford

GW36-37 use 2 FTs to add wk37 DGWers - likely to get to 9/10 DGWers - perhaps Aguero for Lukaku or Costa. Monitor Mahrez form for Lanzini/Antonio

DGW34 - if Lennon performs greatly in DGW33 and say one of LIV mids doesn't stink, would you still drop Lennon?

Probably would lean towards the LIV mid (likely Coutinho if Sturridge is fit):

        - Gives me another for GW35.
        - In 34 L'pool has BOU away, Everton has SOU at home... and EVE visits Anfield - so slight advantage on fixures to LIV, IMHO.
        - EVE will have just come off DGW33 and readying for cup game... so reckon Lennon rotation risk will be higher

Prefer Lennon over Bolasie on current form but like Bolasie's GW33.... mmmm.
Plan is to do Lennon > Coutinho for GW34

re Rashford, Total enabler and risky punt but see some points next few GWs. I could do Deeney who is 5.2 (and still have enough for Coutinho move). Good suggestion will think about it some more

I'm still not entirely sure when I'm WCing, but am tempted by a fun punt with my 2 FT this week..

    Robles - Butland
Toby - Williams - Simpson - Ward - Van Dijk
    Siggy - Payet - Eriksen - Ozil - Mahrez
    Kane - Aguero - Vardy

    2 FT, 1.6m avail

tempted by Butland + Eriksen > Elliott + Sanchez and then figure out my bench dilemma (maybe Vardy)..or maybe Toby out instead of the Butland move..hmmm

Need some WC help. Hoping to save a ft next week, and have 2 available for the blank coming up.
TC Lukaku in 33, then Bench boost in 34. And planning to bring in another Arsenal or ManU player for GW34. Currently on:

    Mignolet, Robles
    Bellerin, Jags, Rojo, Janmaat, Dawson
    Mahrez, Payet, Bolasie, Ozil, Firminho
    Lukaku, Aguero, Mitrovic

Herrera was off the pitch and since he hasn't missed one, there isn't any reason to think he's lost first choice.

I would THINK that since Rashford has almost single-handedly kept our top 4 dreams alive, that he would start the rest of the season.

                  But LVG is incompetent.

Rooney has been in poor form for years and has no argument for an XI spot in either United or England NT. LVG is just weak.

With season coming to an end need to take some chances. Don't have place for Martial, my first choice, so Mata who is on most set pieces i think.

Mata is quite frustrating as he is capable of both 15-pointers and 2-pointers. Just very inconsistent.

Hey guys how does this look for GW34-35? WC36.

    Hart
    Bellerin Smalling Clyne
    Sanchez Payet Bolasie Mahrez
    Aguero Lukaku Kane

    Elliot Alli Simpson Williams

Thoughts appreciated on this WC33 draft

    Robles - Elliot
    Bellerin - Rojo - Gabriel - Sakho - Cresswell
    Payet - Sanchez - Barkley - Bolasie - Coutinho
    Aguero - Lukaku - Mitrovic

4 DGWers for GW33, full set of 15 for GW34, one hit necessary for GW35. 1 million leftover.

Rojo and Gabriel are risky. Bolasie and Barkley are punty, but 4 games in 2 weeks. Like Mitrovic.

Bolasie/Barkley/Rojo are the 3 that will likely leave my squad by GW35 anyways. They're just there for the plum fixtures. I see little reason for those teams to rotate much.

Remember people: Martial is likely NOT on penalties as Herrera was off the pitch.

he had a good run recently then got injured before Pool 2nd leg..

also Rooney could feasibly also be ahead of Martial

it seems though that recently Rashford is more likely to be central at any given moment than Martial..also that's quite a price differential

            1. KingNidge
              • 10 Years
              9 years, 8 months ago

Yep that's true although Martial looks just as threatening coming in off the left.

The price difference is huge but would worry me IF Rashford time was managed a little more with Rooneys return then where do you turn in that price bracket

true, it's a trade-off..ideally (heh) Rooney is back before GW33 and we see them play together

Chance Flanagan might get LB spot? Could be a bargain.

    1. Kurtinho
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 8 months ago

Very much possible. He's not registered for Europa League, so Moreno will likely start thise matches. Flanno could nail down that spot in the league. I'd say there would always be that looming risk, however.

He'll defo play once a week but no way in hell he'll play twice a week after just coming back from a 20month lay off. Avoid.

Sakho much more guaranteed gametime at only 0.3m dearer

I'm at 90% sure he'll start all the remaining PL matches.
He will play either LB or RB, while Clyne and Moreno will be rotated for Europa league.
I've WC him in my team for sure.
