The FA have this afternoon confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match ban for violent conduct following an altercation with Tyrone Mings during Manchester United’s weekend draw against Bournemouth.

Today’s news is set to have a major effect on the Fantasy Premier League transfer market as we look for alternatives to the 34.9% owned Red Devils frontman.

Ibrahimovic will miss the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final match against Chelsea, in addition to United’s next two Premier League fixtures against Middlesbrough and West Brom, before returning to contention in time for the Gameweek 31 home encounter with Everton on Tuesday, April 4.

Devoid of a Gameweek 28 fixture as a result of that Chelsea encounter, the Swede – who has scored just once in his last five league appearances – was already the number one asset for transfers out since the weekend deadline passed.

Over 34,000 former Ibrahimmovic owners have made the move to Harry Kane – Spurs may also without a league match this weekend but they then face Southampton and Burnley while the Swede spends his enforced time on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, 31,000+ have swapped him out for Romelu Lukaku as Everton host West Brom this weekend in the first of four favourable home fixtures in six, while Swansea’s Fernando Llorente – with five goals in six – has been an automatic replacement for over 14,000 FPL managers ahead of a weekend trip to Hull.

Arguably, the lack of viable options up top for a four-match Gameweek 28 slate may somewhat limit the exodus over the next few days, yet with the likes of Diego Costa facing Stoke and Palace over Gameweek 29-30, we can expect the transfers out to intensify next week once all the big guns are back in contention.

Nonetheless, as one of just three sides with two fixtures still to be scheduled – along with Arsenal and Southampton – there’s no doubt that the Swede still has a major part to play later in the season once the double Gameweeks are finally scheduled.

          You want to keep Ibra for 3 weeks or can't find a good forward replacement?
          Minimum would be A.

          Not much point holding Ibra with the 3 match ban, probably best to cash in on him now. Can always buy back later

    On a scale Gundogan to Capoue...

    How much of an fpl legend will Amat become if, thrust into action GW28 due to a last minute injury, bags a goal, cs and 3 bonus for a 15 point special?

      I doubt one minute would be enough to collect 3 bonus even with a goal, wouldn't get clean sheet points either so it's not realistic

      Doubt it - said he was happy at Ars and signed a new contract. I reckon a new manager might see a few of them out though including Ozil. (hardly working hard enough this season)

      - New manager would mean rough changes at Ars with/without same players - great squad! Not making their potential though.

      - Manager ... Players? I'm a great fan of Wenger, but they should have won it last season when the competition was weak and they had the squad.

      Tough one as rise could be due to wild cards and then won't be awarded. 9 is good amount IMO;
      Phillips is a problem that King could solve and King may rise tonite. If Philly doesn't play you get a zero so King only needs an assist to get you in the positive

      Hughes looking to park the bus tomorrow:

      "I'm sure we can be an irritant and cause Man City and Chelsea problems in the next two games. It may be that we look at shaping up to be a little bit more frustrating. I've always backed my teams to go there and have a go because I feel we've got good talent that can test any team in the Premier League. But sometimes if you're not quite there and everybody is not quite playing to their maximum you can get caught out. It's just where I see us at the moment."

      Stoke have scored just one goal in their eight Premier League visits to the Etihad Stadium, in a 1-0 win in August 2014.
      The Potters have lost their other seven Premier League matches away at Manchester City by an aggregate score of 19-0.

      Let us hope for the latter.

      Not sure on some of those stats:

      They're decent at home v Stoke as you say though

    Is Aguero and Stanislas to Llorente and Mane (-4) decent? Still unsure as to whether to get rid of Kun but would mean I can get Mane

      Yes it's decent. I'd like to keep Kun longer myself but he ruins the rest of my team plans.

        Yeah, that is always the issue. Especially as I spent on defence since he last left my team

    So, Ibra to Llorente this week, then Kane in 29?

    Can Mane(c) do better than Lukaku (c)?

    25 points behind top in my ML. Go for differentials?

      Could work out, but don't do it just to catch ML, 25 is nothing

        We both own Lukaku and Mane, So probably it won't make much of a difference

    any UCL players around? 🙂

    What looks best for my FT?

    A) Mertens --> Dybala
    B) Ronaldo/Aguero --> Aubameyang/Messi
    C) Nasri --> ?

    Coleman and Tom Carroll in for Martins Indi and Joe Allen for -8 hit?
    Is it worth it in your opinion?

    For GW29.
    Jaku (De Gea)
    Clyne - Coleman - Baines (Yoshida, Gibson)
    Fletcher - Siggy - Phillips (Sterling, Pedro)
    Llorente (Ibra, Aguero)
    1FT 0.3 ITB

    Thinking about:
    a) Sterling/Ibra -> Firmino/Lukaku, go?

    Will potentially only have 9 players (if Phillips doesn't play).
