We’re left punctured and deflated like that old plastic ball you used to kick over the fence into the neighbour’s garden.

That neighbour is Pep Guardiola, who appears to take great pleasure in putting his big teamsheet tinkering garden fork through our bouncy double Gameweek dreams.

Recorded in the dying stages of Manchester City’s non-event clash against a stubborn Stoke, Jonty, Andy and myself are left rather flat during this episode of the ScoutCast.

Even the most imaginative accountant couldn’t hide the fact that, after transfer hits aplenty and having witnessed Messrs Kane, Costa, Hazard and Lukaku grab hauls, all three of us depart Gameweek 27 in the red.

Gathering ourselves after that disappointment, and steered by your questions, we nonetheless press on to offer our latest musings on the minefield of blanks presented by Gameweek 28, while checking in on Sanchez’ fading star and third striker options.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, pastry and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Has anyone ever done an analysis of Granville's appearances on the ScoutCast compared to colour of his arrow the previous GW?

A green arrow increases the chance of him appearing by 28%.

This is looking at data from the last 3 seasons (taking into account the show not clashing with a Labour Party conference and a margin of error of 3%).

Finally ditching Amat - but should I get in Coleman or Mawson?

The Everton man seems the obvious choice, but as I also own Baines and Alonso, I'd then need to ship a defender out (likely Baines, for a hit) down the line, whereas Mawson could simply stay in place.

Mawson it is then. Colemans got to do really well if it means he's up against a -4....

In the same position as you. It has been terrible not owning Coleman and he looked great against Spurs too. I'm getting him in and then Baines can become a Spurs def

with a budget of 25m who are your top 3 picks for the remainder of the season??

    Robles

    Mane or Coutinho+1.3M?

    Mane:
    + explosive
    + consistent
    + in form
    - expensive
    - most owned liverpool mid

    Coutinho+1.3m:
+leads mids for attempts, for attempts in the box and for attempts on target over the last 4 gws
    +also top for chances created
    +on all dead balls
+probably a differential excluding the ghost teams
    +spare cash to reinvest
    -not in form
    -never guaranteed 90 min

    Thoughts?

Not looking good guys, 5 starters including no defenders with a team of

    Robles

    Alonso, Walker, Holgate, Kingsley, Wilson

    Mane, Morrisson, Siggy, Sterling, Allen,

    Kun, Lukaku, Kane

Kun > Llorente before prices change then perhaps Holgate > Coleman for a -4?

This might be the only week we get to clear out the deadwood and those who we just don't want by using hits wisely, because many will be very light this week and fear hits.

You're considering the -12? Could it be an oppertunity to clear all the subs for starters? Perhaps Kun, Holgate, Allen, Kingsley > Llorente, Coleman, Mawson and a mid priced mid?

I've already done -4 Ibra and Kun to Lukaku and Llorente. Considering -8 more Holgate and Sane to Coleman and Lanzini and would still have 6.6m itb

              Lukaku Llorente

Bench: Grant Valdes Alonso Holebas Zaha Kane

Yeah, that's partly why I'm not sure... whether Coutinho is getting back to his best and going to start getting the points

He has cry, SUN, WBA after gw 28. His fall from what looked like 8 points to 1 last gw was quite depressing I guess.

The Kun fail last night coupled with a blank gameweek coming up are the reasons it's quiet I suppose.

maybe 1 of the 3 pool players will score double figures, maybe youll pick the right one, maybe theyll lose to burnley. its all a risk im not going to take a hit on something so uncertain.

True but its a guaranteed two points compred to 0. I think I want to keep Sanchez, his somewhat low owenership could be huge in a couple week. Eriksen is tempting leaves me with no Spurs but I am doing Aguero to Kane this weekend

    2. aguero + sane + sterling + PVA to carroll + Coutinho + king + Coleman (-12 hit)

Holgate, Kingsley, Allen, Kun > Coleman, Mawson, Llorente & 10.5 ITB for final mid but I'm thinking keep it there for later upgrades and get King/Lanzini?

Haven't seen much Swans recently, does Olssok look better going forward? Lanzini for his fixtures or why? Had Antonio and I feel it's hard to get a West Ham midfielder who's consistent.

Possibly. Ayew might be ready for a start soon too. I'm more worried that Antonio might be shuffled further back to accommodate others. Victim of his versatility.

Think he'll be up top in a 4-4-2 but same players, Feg benched imho w/Ayew impact sub.
