Is now the time to give up on the premium strikers – we’re looking at you Harry – and throw our cash at a “power five” midfield?

It’s a big question that requires a crack team to answer.

Unfortunately, we only have the ScoutCast crew available, though we did manage to pull off a big loan signing to help us out.

Jay Eggersdorf – the current “live” Hall of Fame number one joins Jonty, Andy and Az as we take on the big topic of the day.

In the middle of another stunning season – Jay reveals his strategy behind his recent move to shed Kane on the back of another impressive points tally.

Then on 44 minutes, Jay’s phone is almost drained of life. Tickled by the on-camera events that follow, Jonty and Az struggle to hold it together to discuss the recruitment of Paul Pogba and the merits of West Ham investment before we look ahead to Gameweek 19.

It’s an intense 90-minutes, with the frivolity of this “festive” ScoutCast limited to silly jumpers and hats. Though we each get the opportunity to reveal our Christmas wish.

Just one wafer-thin hat-trick please Harry.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How long until Kane bangs a hatty?

Despite Burnley’s amazing form is this the GW when they get a reality check from Spurs?

1ft, 4.5m in reserve. Currently looking at getting Adrian in for Ryan to further boost my bank balance. Full team:

    Ryan | Elliot
    Christensen | Kiko | Tarkowski | Mariappa | Dunk
    Hazard | Salah (vc) | Sterling (c) | Richarlison | Loftus-Cheek
    Lacazette | Firmino | Austin

So the question is, where should I invest my surplus cash over this festive season?

You're struggling to get 3 defenders out this gw so changing one of the Watford boys should be your priority. Jones or Smalling looks the best bet. Or Otamendi for the goal threat

I feel captaining Kane this week is too much on the side of Risk vs reward. I believe any return from him without being captain and saving a transfer will go a long way to a green arrow for anyone inside the top 500k.

In saying that I am very tempted by Aguero considering sterling is my only city coverage

I kneejerkedly threw Kane out for Lukaku after last week. Wish I hadn't. While I wouldn't captain him I definitely expect him to pick up point against a decimated Burnley defence

Tarkowski/ward isn't a massive loss in my opinion. Hope im wrong but they are a defensive 11 not 4 and anyone half decent can step in and do the job Dyche is looking for.

KDB for Hazard is another transfer im mulling over but feel again any Hazard points v everton is massive in the battle over the next 4 games vs KDB

What's the best under 4.3 option?

    A Chilwell (lei)
    B Klavan (liv)
    C Bardsley (bur)

Chilwell , very attacking and Puel seems to like him so he'll get plenty of games

    Morata -> Jesus for -4?
Other options up front are Kane and DCL. Got no offensive city cover

        Humbug!

Nobody knows who he starts this week, he may well start both again. Nobody ever knows who Pep starts.

You really should be aiming for two of Sterling, KdB, Sane or Silva. Take a -8 to get a city mid in.

Cheers. -8 is a lot though.. But fixtures are good

I'm going to have to get Sane over KdB for the sake of the rest of my team. I think over the course of the season they'll be mighty close and some better defenders will compensate. I hope.

Ok I'm starting to catch on now...
So, if you have kept or captained Kane:
BUR are going to get battered, get a reality check, only have 2 defenders available and one of em is blind in one eye! etc etc...
And, if you have sold Kane:
0-0 simples, Pope haul, Kane blank, etc etc...
    Reality:
Kane is still the best striker in the league who can score v any team!
    Spurs have been poor!
Burnley have been great and are solid as a rock!
    Prediction:
    0-1

    A quick question please?

    A) Otamendi, sterling and David Silva (assuming playing) keeping Kane.

    B) KDB, Sterling and Silva - will need to downgrade Kane.

    Many thanks.
