After an eleven-week marathon, sleepingmaster lifted the coveted Paddy Power Cup V after a 81 – 60 victory over Funkyav. He adds his name to the growing list of former champions, which now reads… donnellyc, Jonty, Gooner dave, Ninja_Fit_Saints and sleepingmaster.

His 21-point annihilation of finalist Funkyav, came courtesy of an inspired 30-point captain’s haul from Gareth Bale. Also helping was the other nine bonus points, two goals, two assists, and clean sheet from the rest of his squad. Despite owning Bale and accruing an impressive four clean sheets, Funkyav was let down by the rest of his attacking outfit, including a rare poor return from captain Robin van Persie.

Sleepingmaster finishes the tournament in a healthy and slightly modest 36,691st overall, pockets the top prize, and will return in Gameweek 29 to defend his crown.

Here is a breakdown of all the winners from the Paddy Power Cup V…

  • Winner: sleepingmaster – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up: Funkyav – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place: ChickenDevil – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

I’m sure you’ll all join me in congratulating our three prize winners for their fine efforts.

Finally, thank you to everyone who submitted an entry for the competition, and to SUPERIOR BEING, Mark and Ed for helping me out behinds the scenes to make the competition possible.

Finally, a reminder to all our Members that registration to the Members Paddy Power Cup is still open, with Gameweek 24 acting as the qualifying round. Members must enter their username and FPL id’s to be included in the qualifying.

    Guys, I have no idea what to do.

    Up front I have RVP, Welbeck and Dzeko. I am tempted to do Welbeck -> Ba and Dzeko to Cisse... but does it make sense?

    It will allow me to do Lindegaard to Krul later on without selling Vermaelen and Kompany
    And here is my question:
    Cisse or Zamora? or someone else for Dzeko?
    Or leave Dzeko and sell Verm or Kompany to get Krul later?
    Thanks!

            Gerrard is in the same boat as Ferdinand, if he's fit he plays, but he's never fit, or at least not for the last year.

            When the look at the options, here aren't many. Who are the regulars, who stay fit. Hart, Barry, Rooney, Cole. Even Barry isn't a shoe in if Gerrard is fit.

            The good thing about Hart is he has no obvious contenders for his position and also he speaks well, isn't controversial etc..

    Hmmm, the obvious..
    a) Enrique -> Kompany
    or
    b) Sturridge -> Ba

    or both for a 4 point hit?

    But what I really want to do is Sturridge -> Djeko, which will give me Silva, Agueo & Djeko. The rest of my team is as generic as everyone else’s!

    I figure we play this game(!) for fun and what really gets the juices flowing on a saturday night is gamble that pays off, rather than a banker that everyone else has, so I’m edging towards tripling up on Citeh attack.

    Any thoughts?

    FIRST post on my WC team after spending the last 5hrs roughly chopping and changing to fit in Aguero..

    Sorenson - Ruddy
    Richards - Simpson - Caulkner - Figueroa - Kelly
    Silva - Moses - Sessegnon - Dempsey - Bale
    Ba - Rvp - Aguero

    0.0 in bank.. Appreciate any thoughts, thanks a million>!??

      This has got to be as challenging as any RMT ever posted here.

      The bottles give you 440ml of beer per euro.

      The cans give you 480ml of beer per euro.

      In these tough economic times, I would go for the cans.

        Maybe Ba as well. He was on 62% when I last looked last night but had had 44% transfers in yesterday. If it's gone at the same rate today, he'll be over 100%.

        I've bought him in tonight in case.

          they could have been 4-0 up after 20 mins against bolton,, their passing was fine it was their finishing that was woeful. as long as they are creating chances they will be fine.

    Is Walters playing deeper nowadays? I see Crouch + Jones were the forwards last time out.
    Is this a permanent change?

      I don't think it's permanent. Pulis probably put Jones there so he could be a force in the air like Ameobi was against United.

        2 free transfers, how should I get Ba in this team:

        Sorensen,
        Richards, Williamson, Caulker,
        Silva, Bale, Valencia, Dempsey, McClean,
        RVP, Aguero.
        Subs: Vorm, Fletcher, BAE, Senderos.(0.2 bank)

        Who should I downgrade to be able to do Fletcher->Ba?:

        A) Richards-> ShawX or some other defender for 5.3 or less

        B) BAE-> Evans/ Santon/ Taiwo.

        I know Citeh have better fixtures than Spurs, but Richards has been so sh*te off late while BAE continues to get attacking returns here and there. So what should I do?
