FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Cup – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football managers may well be cursing the impact of the FA Cup on their seasons, but we’re hoping that our 16th Fantasy Football Scout Cup can help add some welcome cheer.

This Fantasy Premier League Cup competition will take place over the over the run-in, a period beset by blanks and chips. To add a further twist and to prevent teams entered specifically for this tournament, we are ruling that all entered teams must have been registered for FPL in Gameweek 1.

Once again there are £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi and our new reigning champion, TH14.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup Competition Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 29, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 30.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 5, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.
To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The list is here.

Please note that only teams that have been registered with FPL for Gameweek 1 will be eligible for the competition.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after March 5 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

The competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29
Round 1 – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 5.

Prizes

Overall prizes
The prizes for the cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

People who have already used their WC. What's your plans? How many players you using for BGW 31? Cheers.

So 9, fair enough. Problem would be getting the rubbish out the team for DGW 34 and BGW 35 though.

Should be able to field 10 with 4 of them being my bench players and no hits. Means I’m not dead ending my main team for 1 GW. Then make some agressive transfers after GW31 to get some DGW players. Then FH GW35 as originally planned

Will BB if the fixtures fall nicely or can get some DGW players into to my bench (won’t go out of my way for this though)

Cheers for the share. Yeah I'm looking at the same approach - 10 is very healthy number imo. Look's like most people who have already WC'd are gonna have to take this aggressive approach with transfers after BGW 31.

Luckily I had GW31 in mind when I used my WC. Brought in likes of Wilson and VVD over players like Aywe and Jones etc

I’m going for 11. Then I’m using my FH in DGW34, then I will have 11 for blank 35 and bench boost DGW37 (I have no TC left either).

What you mean so many people knew there was a chance of him starting on the bench he was flagged as injured for crying out loud. it was clearly a massive risk like only noobs would TC Kane when hes a doubt. Here's another angle from the Aguero incident https://twitter.com/twitter/statuses/965722503200083974

Clearly Aguero looks calm at first
Clearly gets assaulted / insulted by a fan touching him
Clearly lauch a reverse falcon punch rather than trying to move/push him away

provocation isn't accepted as a defence normally.
Might not be fair but that's the rules.
Both clubs will get fined for fan behaviour.
Aguero probably charged then we see how the appeals process takes over.

That's a completely constructed quote. Finding the match conference is easy. It takes you 4 minutes to watch it.

    Current bench is

McCarthy (bur) Deulofeu (EVE) Bauer (lei) Bardsley (SOU)

Thinking of getting a gw31 player for Bards -4 and playing BB. no other chips so BB is not a factor for dgw's

    What do you think?

    1. Limited & Mediocre Mana…
      • 8 Years

I don't understand what you're trying to achieve. Throwing away 4 points for no reason and using BB in a week of much lower expected value than a normal GW, let alone DGW.

      1. Limited & Mediocre Mana…
        • 8 Years
        6 years, 2 months ago

Also are you telling me that you have 11 other players for 31? Just sticking the BGW players on the bench doesn't actually mean the BB is doing anything if your starting 11 aren't even playing

      2. Wild Rover
        • 13 Years
        6 years, 2 months ago

No, I'm talking about playing BB THIS week. With a decent def (Liverpool for instance) who also has the benefit of a game in 31 it looks like a fair shout for this week. Atm I have 6 gw 31 players

Ahhh ok I'm with you. I'd still never advocate for a non DGW BB but it's up to you.

Looking at this weeks fixtures, I can't see how playing BB in a dgw would be any better. As I have no other chips all transfers after 31 will be for dgw players.

Personally leave him. Purely for GW31.
Nice side 10 of mine there.
I was getting Dacoure rather than him.
Look at keeper slots if I were you

Keepers are an issue for sure, Elliot more than Pope
Who would you get instead of Elliot?

Could it be a City players conspiracy?
They want to rest from the crazy schedule.

Now they can go: "Hey, we can rest during FA Cup round while those guys toil and sweat! Haha!"

    A) Otamendi, Naughton, Mahrez
    B) Kenny/Ogbonna, Dawson, Eriksen

Kenny + Lingard > VVD + Shaqiri? I dont think Kenny will be lucky enough to play GW31. Preparing for GW31, will FH GW35

    Pope Elliot
    Otamendi Jones Ogbonna Duffy Kenny
    Salah Sterling Son Walcott Lingard
    Kane Firmino Quaner

    2FT 2.3itb

Plan to get 8/9 for GW31

Great moves, but maybe if you get info on Coleman, sell Ogbonna,if Coleman has injury

    How are these lads looking?

    0FT £0.6itb

    DDG
    Alonso, VVD, Fernandez
Salah (C), Sterling (V), Hazard, Shaq
    Kane, Firmino, Ayew

    (Elliot) (Mili, Tomkins, Duffy)

Hopefully don't need a hit this week. Injuries aside, planning to do:
    Elliot > Pickford/ Lossl and/or Ayew > Niasse over GW29/30

    What do you think?

  21. LC1

    Pope Elliott
    Otamendi Jones Dunk Chilwell Gomez
    Lingard Salah Son Sterling Shaqiri
    Kane Kun Quaner

    0.5 ITB and 1 FT

Need to load up the players for GW31 and I currently only have two players for.....

Having a non-playing Gomez in defence is killing me as I want to do Jones & Kun to VVD & Firm.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated!

    Thank you in advance!

Just do Jones to VVD, Kun could easily score against arsenal so no worth a hit

      My team right now

      Pope
      Jones Mee Mariappa
      Ibe Sterling Son Salah (C)
      Aguero Kane Vardy (VC)

      Subs: Elliot,Dunk, Carroll & Ogbonna

Personally I'd really want him to show something first. Not sure if he's only going to play yet. Add the blank in there and no thanks.

He's back and will be looking to go in the summer window therefore I can see him performing great till the end of the season sort of like a self motivation from himself

Got a warm reception from the crowd last Saturday Vs Sheffield even Puel has said the saga is behind them for now no doubt he will be performing and playing his best from now till the end of the season for that Man City move
