Sky Sports Focus

Our attention now turns to the Sky Sports game, as we check in with last weekend’s action before preparing you for a bumper upcoming round of matches that could play a significant part in the overall standings.

We’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before detailing the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 35 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

FixtureMoTM

Watford vs BurnleyWill Hughes

Chelsea vs West HamJoe Hart
Bournemouth vs Crystal PalaceLuka Milivojevic
West Brom vs SwanseaChris Brunt
Leicester vs NewcastleJamaal Lascelles
Man City vs Man UnitedPaul Pogba
Arsenal vs SouthamptonDanny Welbeck
Stoke vs SpursChristian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen was at it again, earning his second MoTM award in as many weeks. The Dane has amassed 34 points over that period and is now the fourth highest-scoring midfielder overall.

Paul Pogba’s brace also caught our eye ahead of the Double Gameweek. The Frenchman has shown us glimpses of his Fantasy potential with several double-figure hauls this season and now looks a valid and cheaper alternative to team-mates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

Gameweek 35 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at any player to earn 50 points or more in bonus for the season.

Notes

I moved up one whole place, so I guess I have to count that as a victory. Overall, It was a low-scoring week across the board, but I had hoped for more given my use of three transfers.

Speaking of which, I’m pretty happy with them, as of the trio I sold, Ben Davies and Roberto Firmino didn’t start, while Theo Walcott blanked.

The incoming Pascal Gross got me two points and was only denied an assist when Jonas Lossl was deemed to have scored an own goal, while Harry Kane’s ghost goal meant he also went close to a decent return. Thankfully, Wilfried Zaha carried the rest with a ten-point return.

My big decision this week is who to bring in at the expense of Gabriel Jesus.

I need a player from the red side of Manchester for captaincy reasons moving forward, and there is a case to be made for all three of my potential suitors: Lukaku, Sanchez and Pogba.

I currently see the Belgian striker as the safest pick, but given my desire to break into the top 100, I’m strongly considering the other two as altenatives.

Sanchez has been very good in his last two matches and is owned by the fewest people. He’s also the most expensive and therefore unobtainable for most in one transfer. All of these reasons are currently pushing me in his direction.

Captain Plan

Sat 14th April – Mohamed Salah
Sun 15th April – Romelu Lukaku/Alexis Sanchez/Paul Pogba
Mon 16th April – None
Tues 17th April – Harry Kane
Weds 18th April – Romelu Lukaku/Alexis Sanchez/Paul Pogba
Thurs 19th April – Andreas Christensen

    need to save 0.9

    A) Son > Lingard
    B) GroB > Cook

    Thanks

    Bottomed!

Right, I'm completely stuck and would really appreciate your wisdom!

1FT which will be Auba > Kane. I need funds though and have decided to sacrifice Mahrez (have Vardy). The problem is I was considering switching to Lingard but I already have DDG, Bailly, and Lukaku. So,

    A) Auba + Mahrez >>> Kane + 7.4m MID (-4)
    B) Auba + Mahrez + Bailly > Kane, Liangard, Vert? (-8)

Thank you again for any help you can offer me!

    1FT, 0.4 in the bank.
Anything worth doing here? Considering Christensen > Smalling.

    De Gea / Ryan
    Christensen / Vertonghen / Chilwell / Lowton / Morgan
    Salah / Willian / Son / Mahrez / Ibe
    Lukaku / Aubemayang / Barne

I'd be worried that Smalling will eventually lose games to Jones at some point.

Kane or Kaku essential? If only one? I'm dreading not having Kane more than Romelu.
    Alonso > Long
    Aubu > Kane
    Allen > Gudmundsson -8

(No FH) leaves 8DGW and 9GW35 (no keeper). Hate to lose Alonso as no doubt he will finally return over the double but feel i have to work Kane in. Any other advice greatly appreciated. Plan to bring in 3x City for 35 then WC36, BB37.

    De Gea
    Maguire - Alonso - Lowton
    Mahrez - Son - Mane - Salah
    Auba - Firmino

    Henry - Mariappa - Allen - DCL

Sanchez is less owned but Pogba is cheaper..tricky one.

However, Pogba is one of five players I have predicted to score this double gameweek on my blog here: https://checkthestatistics.wordpress.com/2018/04/12/game-week-36-five-gems-to-beat-the-doubles/

Hopefully there is a differential in that post to work wonders for sky managers.

    Best of luck!
