The Community Round-Up

Navigating Gameweek 35’s limited fixture list has dominated the community’s thoughts over the last seven days, particularly those with a Free Hit chip in play.

Our Hot Topic posters assess Liverpool and Manchester City’s perceived favourable fixtures this weekend, and rotation fears are also considered as the season draws to a close.

Our Members table round-up features further information on the newly crowned champions, while our community scribes have been busy canvassing the masses for their views on how this round of matches will pan out.

We end with our round-up with at look at those managers who emerged from Double Gameweek 34 at the top of the community leagues.

The Community Articles

Those with a Free Hit chip will be particularly buoyed by Hutch_James’ latest canvassing of the crowd. They are anticipating some big tallies for those managers in a position to stock up on players from Jurgen Klopp’s and Pep Guardiola’s troops.

The Hottest Topics

As our Gameweek 35 “Rate my Team” surgery revealed, there are plenty in the community who are eyeing up three Man City targets with their Free Hit strategy. With a home encounter with a Swansea City side beaten 4-0 in the reverse fixture, the Premier League champions look ideally placed as a source of talent for this one-week Wildcard.

This is a view backed up by Doosra’s latest number crunching, as delivered by GWhizz.

Gabriel Jesus now stands out as a key target after it was revealed that his team-mate and striker rival Sergio Aguero would likely miss the rest of the season following minor surgery.

Ludo dropped by with the full skinny on the Brazilian’s prospects, while the compelling points potential of Man City assets for the run-in are also featured in our Hot Topic on the key lessons learned from Gameweek 34.

But as Bubz’s discussion points out, the spectre of rotation could yet loom large over Pep Guardiola’s charges now that the title is in the bag. Guardiola assured us in Friday’s press conference that he will look to continue fielding strong line-ups, but only Sunday’s teamsheet will calm any anxiety.

To accommodate the likes of Jesus, many are looking to dismantle their carefully-crafted Double Gameweek 34 template squad, with many of the recent Wildcard signings failing to impress. We asked who is likely to receive their P45 and who has earned the right to be a mainstay until the season ends.

Marcos Alonso is among those suffering heavy sales after the Chelsea left wing-back received a retrospective three-match ban. Andy85wsm sparked this discussion on whether time is up for the Spaniard, even though he will be available for the Blues’ two Gameweek 37 fixtures.

But few will be releasing Mohamed Salah go. The Golden Boot race leader and Fantasy Premier League’s top points scorer looks in line to start at The Hawthorns later today and may even escape rotation for the rest of the season, despite Liverpool’s Champions League charge.

Given the Egyptian winger’s achievements so far, Halfspace wonders what price he will be next season. This discussion also considers whether Salah could even be reclassified as a forward after his 30-goal campaign so far.

Unsurprisingly, Salah is among those to make the PFA’s team of the season, which was published earlier this week. This prompted us to ask the community for their Fantasy team of the season so far.

At the start of the week, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a popular recruit into Gameweek 35 line-ups. But with Arsene Wenger revealing that he’s yet to decide on is role against West Ham, many are tearing up their best-laid plans, according to Bemba Da’s discussion on the forward’s possible absence on Sunday.

Wenger was once again grabbing headlines on Friday after Arsenal released a shock statement that their long-standing manager is to step down in the summer. We asked the community for their favourite Arsenal-related Fantasy football moments to mark this momentous news.

Finally, for those confused about the rules surrounding Free Hitting, Geoff was on hand with more information about this new chip for the 2017/18 season.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Members Tables

Greenback Boogie has been investigating the best Man City midfielders ahead of their home meeting with Swansea and their Double Gameweek 37. The minutes of Pep Guardiola’s troops come under FPL Virgin’s gaze, as does the home form of Spurs assets.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing, the safety score was 90, which saw 33 players depart and 43 remain.

Anders Lium and Shirin Nizar are the respective leaders of Red Lightning’s Top 10K Any Season and January to May leagues. However, it’s all change at the summit of his Doubles, Blanks and Chips league, where Zeroual Aymen has taken the lead from Dylan McCullough.

Elsewhere, Paul Gee still tops the FFSMembers league, as does Rizwan Chadhry in the FFSmain league. Rizwan is second in the overall rankings, just 12 points behind world number one Bharat Dhody.

In the FFScout moderators and contributors league Jack Wain’s lead has been reduced to just 10 points. I head the chasing pack, with my fellow Scoutcaster Az in hot pursuit.

It’s also business as usual in QPR Utd’s Frequent Summer Posters league, where Zoumas Bloomers retains number one spot.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round-Ups, please email us a summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head-to-head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Free hit, nonsense having a strong bench. Just get one to cover and then load up your team

      1. bench boost for every gamew…

as it is no problem fielding whatever ones want i think it´s silly not to have a bench that gives you cover in case something happens. I have all the players i want except de bruyne but decided that i wanted Milner instead of Klavan because he is oop. i have Hennesy in goal as cover, Johnson (most likely not a starter), Long and Crouch. I can downgrade those and get something like 1m, but what´s the point of doing that when i have no places in my team where i can upgrade significantly? Yes, de bruyne could be there instead of Sané, but that will also mean Millie out and Klavan in, which is a oop defender out for a defender with one goal in his entire liverpool career. if say my keeper is sick or something, it´s so much better to have a sub than not. But i agree if that .5 leaves you short for a player that your really want it is worth the gamble. I might be overplaying it a bit, but i think 2 subs is wise, actually a keeper sub and Long perhaps? Also there is a bunch of 4.2. and 4.3 defenders that play so it´s not really much to invest, so should be possible

i think you ought to "top" your team a little. But first thing first; Auba is pr what Wenger said a tiny rotation risk, Lacazette might be a better choice. Only one Liverpool seems a waste and two Palace mids is maybe a little bit much? I know if the one gets the pen and the other puts it but whats the likelyhood of that? Pope could be Butland or Karius, even Pickford. No point in Fab when you can have Hennesey at a lower price. i would probably tried to get a City mid in by downgrading your subs. I would play Shaq over Barnes, but saying that i woould prob get Sané or Silva for Milli, if possible? you need approximately 1 million to do that and that you´ll get by getting Dummet for Lascelles, and someone cheaper than Tarkowski, like Lowton, pluss Hennesey. 3-5-2? Just some thoughts

I can't get a preamble done this morning as my partner is working so I'm with the kids. Back next week, of course.

My FH currently looks like this - Butland, 3.9, Baines, Bellerin, Milner/VvD, Klavan, Long, KDB, Sterling, Shaqiri, Ozil, Salah, Jesus, Laca, 4.5

I'll go with Salah captain. The way I see it, non FH managers will surely have to go Salah so I'm happy to cover that and let the rest be the differential against those managers. Hopefully there's one or two different players in there vs other FH managers too.

I know it's a little bit sad, but the preamble is a highlight of my Saturday morning and it is lots of people's favourite article of the week. Mark is actually a very good writer on the down low and, while I completely accept that he has family commitments, I think that as FFS aficionados we're allowed a little bit of a sulk about a missing out on the first ever free hit preamble.

FPL Virgin obviously is not a grown man... Sometimes it's funny on internet forums like this when we don't actually know the age of someone... We obviously know Mark, but has anyone seen FPL Virgin's face for instance? He could be a teenager for all we know... The point is that in real face-to-face life, you would treat a teenager as a teenager, or a child as a child, but on anonymous web forums like this you do treat people as equals because you're not 100% confirmed about their age... You're not taking someone's age into account here like you would on a street because you're simply not given the information here... And yet it is obvious that anyone over 10 years of age can quite easily be here... Do you get my point?

FPL Virgin is one of these people, highly likely to be a teenager, or a child, but who knows, some adults are like children as well...

It's a fair point, however in this case we are talking about an adult, sadly.

To FPL Virgin I'd like to say that this is just a game! We adults are playing a game, similar to children, and it is good that adults are not too serious and instead act like children at times. It's refreshing, gives us joy in life, helps us to relax, maybe gives us new ideas, helps us to understand other people, very important stuff!

But it is obviously very important to realize the boundaries of playing a game, to realize the exact role of playing a game in one's life, to realize which things in life are way more important than playing a game... Family is one thing, taking care of your children... That is the single most important thing in life many would say!

You are acting like a child, sulking about missing your favorite TV show, sulking about the fact that your mother didn't buy you chocolate when you were at the supermarket. Do you get the point?

So stop being an ignorant and selfish child and grow up!

Serous question - why do you feel the need to cover non Free Hitters, and why do you think they will do anything different to Free Hitters anyway?

Looks like picking Shaqiri instead of Zaha may well pay off, nice move. Our teams are identical otherwise. I regret giving Salah the arm band now though over a City player. Good luck and enjoy your family time.

How dangerous is Baines looking these days?

FH. I think laca may not be playing 90mn to prevent injury. And his PPG is nothing to get excited.

in open play i would say Coleman is the one to get, but Baines have pens and free kicks in his locker (most probably, could be Tosun as Allardyce prefers his pen takers to be strikers pr history). Coleman is more often in positions that could give points, but also a bit more costly. i went pretty template, but with the differntial being triple Everton defense, which is Pickford who saves a lot and also a great at saving pens, Baines with possible pens and free kicks and Coleman as he is virtually a right winger. It seems a tad to confident on Everton but the upside is huge, and could make a grand difference in or ranking. It could loose me som places but i decided to have some fun, and it is the last game and all. With those three a goal against doesn´t mean it´s over, some of them could still have decent chance of returns

Worth a -4 to ship out Robertson?

No free hit and if Firmino rumours are true too, would leave me with 9 playing.

Got my eye on Fernandez, Yedlin and Masuaku.

Tempted by Danny Ings? Anyone else, starting and will be very motivated. Huge differential. Winning MLs, so all about rank.

    Rest of front 7:
    Salah, Sterling, Sane, Zaha
    Laca, Jesus

Money no object, could buy anyone. Other options Ozil / Arnie / Tosun or shaq

    Thoughts?
