Monitor – Gabriel Jesus

Just three Gameweeks now stand between Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers and the long, dark teatime of the soul that is the summer break.

Yet with mini-league titles still to settle and another Double Gameweek on the horizon, difficult line-up decisions continue to present themselves. After a pair of red-hot Gameweeks across which his Man City side have racked up an impressive eight goals, Gabriel Jesus has firmly inserted himself into the Fantasy conversation and summarily dismantled the Wildcard template frontline of a Harry Kane – Romelu Lukaku/Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Jamie Vardy triumvirate.

With goals in each of his last three starts, should Jesus displace one of his fellow heavy-hitters within our frontlines? And how much should we consider sacrificing to ensure we have the Brazilian on board?

In this latest Monitor article for members, we will be breaking down the striker’s season, recent form, and evaluating his potential over the final handful of games versus altnernative targets in the Man City squad.

I just posted this on twitter. Frustration is not the word..

Watching that Atletico goal is more painful the second time. How Arsenal's leader and main centre half on the field has allowed himself to brushed off the ball so easily is so bad. 90% of defenders would deal with it comfortably, 9.999% would clean him out. Then there's our lot.

If that's ferdy or vidic or jonesy then no prisoners are taken and with some of them chances at the same time if those fall to persy or eric or rude its game over still 90 mins to go though

    0.4 ITB, 1 FT:

    DDG McCarthy
    Alonso Christensen Lowton Simpson K.Long
Salah (C) Willian Son Mahrez Hojbjerg
    Lukaku Vardy Barnes

GTG? I'm really worried about my DEF, but I'd love to save my FT for next week to go Lukaku->Kane, and at that point I'll have Alonso back. Worth a -4 next week to upgrade DEF now?

Madness to go into the gameweek with no city players? My ML are very tight (10point ranges) and I am hesitant to take a hit...

    DDG --- Ryan
Maguire ● Cedric ● Lowton ---- Smalling Alonso
    Son ● Pogba ● Mahrez ● Willian --- Gross
    Kane ● Vardy ● Barnes

    A: Gross + Vardy >> hojberg + Jesus (-4)..will revert to 4-4-2 going forward

B: Save ft but no city coverage

C: something else? 0.1m short of mahrez > sterling. Could get sane instead but then next gw can only get one of sterling or Jesus which is a very tough choice

Im 100 points up on my ML but Since Jan has been disastrous & been hitting below average scores. When every move was going to gold is now .... well the opposite.

I have 10/11 players in that have doubles next week
    Ryan
    Fernandez Zanka Yedlin Chilwell Robertson
    Pogba Mahrez Alli Allen Salah
    Jesus Kaku Ayew

Worried Kane will explode but Kaku against weak gunners

    Any point in changing?

    Ederson
Lowton - Schindler - Vertonghen - (Hunmeier, Mbemba)
    Willian - Lingard - Salah - Sterling - (Carroll)
    Aubameyang - Kane - Jesus

16 points behind in my mini-League. This is my team:

De Gea, Tarkowski, Lowton, Otamendi, Salah (c), Willian, Son, Zaha, Barnes, Kane, Jesus. Subs: Hennessey, Kenedy, Morgan, Robertson.

Fairly sure this is how my rival will line up:

De Gea, Tarkowski, Azpilicueta, Trippier, Son, Sterling, Salah, Lingard, Kane (c), Vardy, Murray. subs: Ryan, Cork, Lowton, Chilwell.

Questions: should I captain Kane to cover him and rely on the differentials? Should I save the FT and hope Sterling doesn’t score big?
