Best Everton players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Everton’s midfield and forward options could be worth including in our Fantasy Premier League squads this season.

New manager Marco Silva is expected to overhaul the style used by predecessor Sam Allardyce in 2018/19 and remove the shackles from their most dangerous players.

Two midfield options and one striker in particular, that were restricted last term, boast some underlying numbers which suggest they could impress in Everton’s appealing set of early fixtures.

Fantasy Football Scout members can view that data in the Members’ Area and also read our full analysis of it below to help them pick the best possible FPL team this season.

Those with Zaha, you not worried about his drop in stats away from home?

Only 2 games at home in first 4, of which one is Livp.

Hadn't been aware there was a big drop but seeing as how the first away game is Fulham and palace should have a bit more freedom away from home this year since they aren't starting off under Roy in a relegation fight I'm not too concerned.

I'm also planning to upgrade either Zaha or Tosun(or other mid price fwd) to Auba or Laca early on anyway.

I think for 7.0 & below players you kind of have to accept they won’t score points every week. He looks a good strategic pick from a crop of playable 6.0-7.0 strikers this year - Austin, King, Tosun, Arnie, Wood

If Zaha doesn’t work out and/or one of the others goes large in GW1, thye’re Only a FT away.

    First RMT..

    Fabianski Bettinelli
    Azpilicueta Robertson Mendy Ward Schelotto
Mané David Silva Walcott Jota Stephens
    Aubameyang Firmino Zaha

    0.5 ITB

Glaring this is lack of Salah.. but not sure I can justify 13.0 on him (yet).

It’s a cliche, but what will you do if Salah scores double figures GW1? He will be captained by >50% of the game, so that’s a lot of catching up, and a transfer wasted straight away.

Lol... I just think it’s like gambling on giving Salah teams a 20 point headstart & an extra FT, not putting the odds in your favour!!

And what if Mane scores 2 and Salah blanks in GW1?

              5 years, 8 months ago

              True!

But, that's just an easy downgrade if you want. I think the point MBP is making is that it's 2 transfers min to get Salah in and half the game will already have his points if he scores well. It's risky to go without a 50%+ owned player for sure.

Yeah, but Im talking about points and price changes
That could be great start for those w/o Salah

(Liverpool fan here) Mané is a lot more of a winger than salah, he is far less composed in front of goal and will often miss chances. As good a player as he is, I would bet against him scoring big.

                5 years, 8 months ago

                I agree
But that was last seasons situation,we have to see how teams will cope with Salah now, where they are 1 season smarter( or not 🙂 ),and how this will affect Manes space and his position

              • 14 Years
              5 years, 8 months ago

Then you’re grand because (a) Mané’s ownership will be tiny compared to Salah (b) Mane’s captaincy will be even smaller (c) you won’t have dropped any points to Salah captain teams plus that scenario is MUCH more unlikely than the alternative of Salah notching a big score (not impossible, but much more unlikely)

I do love a good gamble.. although I very rarely win. A risk I'm willing to take until GW1 starts at least, haha.

              • 14 Years

I do too 🙂 I just think there’s parts of your team you should be willing to gamble on (generally the cheaper sections lol) and parts where you want to be more conservative - the captaincy is sacrosanct in FPL, it’s the single most important position, and Salah looks the best choice to start the season. But definitely if you have a good feeling about no Salah then follow your gut, if he does blank and your selection does well you’ll probably be in the top 5k or top 1k straight away!

20 point headstart, that’s utterly flawed logic there! And what if? What if? Useless information! Salah is so expensive the Salahless teams are better overall, so it’s not that simple anyway, th headstart would be 10 or less IF he even scores twice... for that price Salah needs to score two or at least 1+1 to be worth... if Salah only scores one in GW1 then the other have a headstart... Anyway, it’s a game of luck as anything can happen!

          • 14 Years

How so? If Salah scores 12 points that’s 24 points you have given up to the 50-60% of teams who have captained him.

I'm going Salah free because I'll be in a weekly money ML. The way I see it, the weeks Salah goes big I win nothing, but the many weeks he blanks puts me at a considerable advantage. I just need to come out on top 1 in 4 times to clean up.

    Which looks best?

    A) Coleman, Jota, Tosun
    B) Cedric, Will Hughes, Firmino

Cedric would be 4/5th defender. Hughes/Jota 4th midfielder.

I would also say Martial and Sane has good chances to play at the start of the season. Not sure Valencia and Erikson is worth the outlay. Not sold on Wilshire either. Might I suggest Mahrez, Mee and Mili/Mikhi

Hi guys, what are your tactics regarding your bench? Minimize the money but with rotation and uncertainty around WC is it worth having for exemple a 4.5 def and a 5.0 mid on the bench?

    1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
      • 14 Years
      5 years, 8 months ago

I’ve went With an experimental 4.0, 4.5, 4.5, 4.0 Bench (GK, MID, MID, FWD) and 4.5m ITB.

I’m sick of trying to guess which players will do well in GW1-6 so going very structure based this year with a lot of flexibility to change to other players.

My core big hitters are Alonso, VVD, Salah, KDB, Firmino though who should hopefully be reliable.

Interesting for the 4.5m itb, that could be really useful.
Yeah I think the priority is to have nailed on consistant big hitters with 1-2 4.5 players on the bench. Mine are Ederson Robertson Salah Mané Dilva Kun. Only hesitation is Dilva but if he does not play consistantly I can make the switch to an Arsenal mid GW3

        1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
          • 14 Years
          5 years, 8 months ago

I don’t think my team has suffered too much from it either, still happy with my GW1 11:

          Fabianski
          Alonso, VVD, Cedric, Tomkins
          Salah, KDB, Martial
          Firmino, Zaha, Austin

That 4.5m allows a quick hop onto the bandwagons as they develop, but the first 11 have a good chance or points & good fixtures... Martial is biggest gamble but relatively risk free assuming we get utd lineup before the deadline, will swap to Lingard if Martial isn’t starting, or to Milivojevic. Or Mkhi/Siggy/Theo etc if neither martial nor Lingard starting

Yeah decent GW1 team. Not too worry about having only KDB from City though? Especially with him coming back late from the WC

              • 14 Years
              5 years, 8 months ago

Mendy for Alonso is on the watchlist, also potentially Sanè for GW1 instead of KDB if Pep making noises that KDB will miss a few weeks.

If Kun hattricks v Arsenal, will have to look at Zaha > Kun & that’s the full ITB fund near gone lol

    RMT's

    A
    Patricio Speroni

    Robertson Mendy Jones Ward Schelotto

    Salah Walcott Jota Deulofeu Stephens

    Aguero Auba Zaha

    B
    Karius Speroni

Mendy Ward (4.5m eve) Tomkins Schelotto

    Salah Walcott Jota Sanchez Deulofeu

    Aguero Tosun Zaha

A - gives the flexibility of 433 / 343 and can downgrade def to bolster mids/add kane as required.

B - looks for value in defence and allows flexibility with Sanchez money.

Is Patricio definitely first choice? Think i’ll Get him if so, Wolves are so defensive. As are Cardiff.

Maybe Wolves/Cardiff GK double will be this year’s value options, 300 points for 9.0m, even though some unexpected CS points will be on the bench every week

Got to assume so. He wouldn't sign for them otherwise I wouldn't have thought?

Not too sure about Cardiff just with their horrible fixtures at first. Hoping that Wolves can do well defensively and he gets those save points as well.

Based on results so far, what is your world cup team of the tournament?

Who do you think will win the Golden Ball?

I think we can all agree that Mbappe is easily the favorite to win the best young player award

What do you think is the goal of the tournament so far?

Who will win the 3rd place match and the final?

    1. #FPLBhuna

      Golden Ball: Kane

      Young player: Mbappe by far

Goal of the tournament: Quite a few but none come to mind so I'll go with Trippiers beauty last night

      3rd place: England

My team of the tournament so far:
      Lloris
      Trippier - Varane - Maguire - Vrsalijko
Modric - Kante - De Bruyne
      Mbappe - Kane - Hazard

Golden ball: Modric for his quiet, yet crucial, excellence in controlling the midfield for Croatia; Kane, Kante, and Hazard are worthy contenders as well

goal of the tournament: Pavard's goal

Belgium and France to win the 3rd place match and the final respectively

He will take some of the set pieces, he almost never touches the ball in the box, his points will come from wonder strikes, he assists the assisters if that makes sense and he'll pick up a lot of yellow cards

Some have said he's a deep lying "quarterback" type who sprays the passes round and scores the odd wonder goal

...basically Jonjo Shelvey with no PL experience.

      Steer clear IMO

      Wait and see.

Depends on pre-season form & tactics.

I prefer Tosun & Evertons fixtures but not sure if either player is gtd to start every game.

So, Kevin Mirallas scores FIVE in their recent friendly, I have a gander to see what price he is in FPL but he's not listed? Is this an admin error or does anyone know of an explanation why Kevin Mirallas is missing?

Cheers! Well when they add him. I might give him a berth - you heard it here first 😉

    Dilva+Auba or
    Mkhi + Kun
    Which is better?

And why am I not seeing Martial in almost all the teams?

Long term I'd go Silva and Auba.

Personally I dont mind the Martial pick but he's a transfer waiting to happen. Plus I'm not keen on the Leicester fixture even if it is at Old Trafford.

Martial is already present for the preseason training sessions, right? Once the worldcup players are back, wildcard would be inevitable. I thought it would keep me going for the initial gameweeks.
