Introduction to the Article Type

With so many RMTs on site, weโ€™re going to start collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.

Site regular and moderator ZoumasBloomers has here given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.

This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while youโ€™re at it!

Mods have been alerted and will spend some time on these pages responding, but this will work best if you help out others as well as getting responses.

Letโ€™s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!

ZoumasBloomersโ€™s RMT

Fabianski โ€“ Patricio

Mendy โ€“ Robertson โ€“ Cedric โ€“ Wan-Bissaka โ€“ Tomkins

Salah โ€“ Mahrez โ€“ Mane โ€“ Richarlison โ€“ Cairney

Aubameyang โ€“ Arnautovic โ€“ Sorloth

Goalkeepers

Patricio โ€“ 4.5m, obviously a quality goalkeeper with international pedigree, and Wolves have some tight fixtures. Seems a no brainer for the 4.5 rotations, after Ryan/Fabianski didnโ€™t rotate well. Sounds like Wolves were quite tight last year as well.

Fabianski โ€“ 4.5m, still got memories of his seemingly random hauls last year. Guaranteed save points. Hopefully going to West Ham doesnโ€™t diminish his point scoring potential (still havenโ€™t forgiven Ogbonna from last season)

Defenders

Mendy โ€“ 6m, a bit of a punt early on as he seems to be made of tissue paper and not played many minutes, but from his brief spell last season itโ€™s very clear that he offers attacking potential on top of a decent defensive record. Delph and Zinchenko donโ€™t seem to be in favour, and thereโ€™s every chance of a very tasty return to 5 at the back from Pep at some point. Will monitor Community Shield.

Robertson โ€“ 6m, should be nailed early season, and has some pretty tidy fixtures. Will get in a few crosses, and very easy to switch down to free up funds if pressing issues arise. May even do a goal. Chances are high that he will become a Man Utd defender once their settled XI becomes apparent, but for now I am happy to avoid Joseโ€™s grumpy circus.

Cedric โ€“ 4.5m, Iโ€™m expecting absolutely nothing from this bloke, may not even start after the World Cup, and doesnโ€™t get as many attacking returns as he should. However, he seems cheap and fixtures are reasonable. Easily benched if needed. A rabbit hole I seem to dive down at the beginning of every season, at least he wastes less money than Bertrand did last year.

Tomkins โ€“ 4.5m, Seems to keep clean sheets when paired with Sakho, and does pose a threat from set pieces. Some decent early fixtures providing Palace start better than last season. Roy should have them in a reasonable shape.

Wan-Bissaka, 4m โ€“ Would prefer for this to be Peltier, but injury has put me off there. Likely to be perma-benched unless I shift Tomkins early doors. Could prove to be nailed, and should at least offer some price rises as people realise this.

Midfielders

Salah โ€“ 13m, Iโ€™m too scared not to.

Mane โ€“ 9.5m, I like the look of Liverpool fixtures, and Mane has certainly had a good pre-season. Could possibly be on penalties, definitely seems fresh, and gives a good coverage of Liverpoolโ€™s attacking options so that I can spread my strikers around. Will have to put up with a few 60 minute substitutions though.

Mahrez โ€“ 9m, all aboard the Pep Guardiola rotation wagon. If playing, he should be high up the field, and was experimented with as number 10/false 9 in preseason. No WC fatigue, just need to wait on injury news. Can easily become David Silva if signs are that he may not start. Fully expecting disappointment after I WCโ€™ed him in last season and he cost me a top 1k finish. Could have some free kicks off KDB if he is feeling generous.

Richarlison – ย 6.5m, What on earth am I doing!? The man has a 50p head, and misses 1 on 1s for fun. However, ยฃ50m signings should start every game, and Everton have great fixtures. Should have a point to prove under Marco Silva, and a proper summer of rest after playing for nearly 12 months last year. Could well be this yearโ€™s bargain if he finds his shooting boots. Worth a punt, and a goal in preseason is a good sign.

Cairney – 5m, Iโ€™ll be honest, Iโ€™ve never seen him play. Looks the best of the 5m options for me purely because Kenedy has shocking early fixtures and Neves plays deep and loves a card. Fully expect Cairney to shuffle to Kenedy on my first WC. Will rotate with my 4thย defender and 3rdย striker.

Forwards

Aubameyang – 11m, the man that everyone will want from GW3. Iโ€™d love a nailed Aguero but Iโ€™m concerned that Jesus will steal some minutes in that GW2 fixture against Huddersfield. Saving myself the hassle of a transfer by starting with the Arsenal man, has every chance of scoring vs a travelled City side in GW1 anyway

Arnautovic โ€“ 7m, never a dull moment, equal chances of scoring a brace or elbowing someone in the head. Has been banging them in in pre-season, and West Hamโ€™s fixtures arenโ€™t as bad as made out (and they boast a decent squad this season). Concerned that Zaha may move back into midfield, or that his head will have turned by transfer rumours, so going with the early season form and security here. Only issue is that some re-jigging will be needed to turn him into Firmino if things go south.

Sorloth โ€“ 5m, Reasonable start to his Palace career, looks quite sharp for an absolute lump of a man and may well header a few in at some point. Likely to always be on the bench, but offers more potential than the 4.5m strikers. Nicely fills out an all Palace bench for me as well.

CONCLUSION

A lot of very highly owned players being overlooked, but a lot of decent price players that can be easily switched.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change? Feel free to tear into me in the comments!

Remember, post your RMTs below in this article. There will be another new RMT Community Article tomorrow.

Generally like this team. Bits that put me off:

DEF: don’t like CP double up.
MID: think Mhki & Sané would be better than Richi and Mané.
FOR: currently preferring Zaha to Arni but ideally would have both...could downgrade Auba to Firmino if getting Mhki for Mane in midfield?

Really strong midfield. As mentioned above main downside I can see is no premium striker spot. I think having a player in that spot allows you to be flexible and transfer that player in more easily if one appears as the clear option.

  7. Tomcooper9

    Fabianski, (Stekelenburg)
Mendy, D. Luiz, Robertson, (Cedric, Wan-Bissaka)
    Cairney, Sane, Salah, Richarlison, Mahrez
    Arnautovic, Aubameyang, (Kamara)

I realise my sub keeper wont play but im happy to have any 4m non-playing keeper there. I think rotating keepers isn't always easy to predict so happy to just set and forget one. Also don't mind ditching the third striker position.

Im fairly settled on this, but few areas im still deliberating:
    1) 5.5m defender - Luiz vs Coleman vs PVA vs Bailly
    2) 6.5m mid - could also be Jota or maybe Pedro if he looks secured of starts
    3) Man City mids - could just go with one, i.e Sane could be Mane or Eriksen.

I'd prefer a bit of city attaching coverage as their run is unbelievable after Arsenal, you can always move Sanchez on for one of them though. ๐Ÿ™‚ Ozil could be a great differential. Defence maybe not the most nailed I've seen....

  11. Jordan Stott

    RMT - thoughts much appreciated...

    Leno - Fabianski

    TAA - Daniels - Cedric - AWB - Pereira

    Richarlison - Mane - Mahrez - Miki - Siggy

    Auba - Zaha - King

3.5m in the bank to get Hazard in moving forward or to move to Salah if needs be... gives me some flexibility to inevitably get Kane/Aguero in.

Like the look of Siggy, would be tempted to dump Richarlison but unsure for who currently. Not sold on Salah, but few as though I should use the funds rather than just keeping them for the sake of it.

    Let me know your thoughts!

Defence a bit light, not sure if Leno starts all games, will Cech play a few? Also is Leno worth the extra 0.5 over some of the 4.5m GK options. Personally I also think it’s better to use your money and get it on the pitch rather than have that much ITB.

    Best fillers here lads?

    Would be a 4-3-3 in A, a 3-4-3 C/D and a mix of both in B.

    A) Mendy, Davies, Alonso, Stephens
    B) Mendy, Tomkins, Luiz, Deulofeu
    C) Mendy, Tomkins, Cook, Pedro
    D) Luiz, Tomkins, Peltier, Mahrez

    Ederson, Boruc
    xxx, xxx, TAA, xxx, WB
    Salah, Mane, xxx, Richarlison, Chalobah
    Aguero, Arnie, Zaha

I like A or D personally, would prefer a premium defender over a rotation risk / perhaps unreliable midfielder. Tomorrow we could get more information about Pedro with the community shield and a cheap midfielder is usually a good band wagon place holder.

Looks a good team ZoumasBloomers, all players are good picks, not sure on Sorloth. I'd personally either go down to 4.5 or upgrade to 6.0/6.5 at 3rd striker as I'm not sure how much he will actually play during the season.

I've gone for the 6.0 option as it looks like Chazza Austin should start!

    Any thoughts on this lot?

    Ederson 4m
    Robbo Luiz Bailly (Cook, Wan-Bisaka)
    Salah Eriksen Keita Richarlison (Billing)
    Aguero Zaha Austin

Looking to cover the best defences early on and if one gets dropped can move on to Bellerin or cheaper options.
Eriksen can easily be swapped for the form City mid that emerges and Keita could be a good differential or swapped to an Arsenal mid.
Very happy with this team and it's the first 343 I've gone for.
Bench fodder ouls change but it looks like all should start the season.

    Any opinions, advice, ratings?

    Patricio - Hamer

    Mendy - Robbertson - D. Luiz - Steve Cook - Wan Bissaka

    Salah - Mane - Eriksen - Pedro - Stephens

    Aguero - Zaha - Kamara

I like Zaha due to the fixture list, but the transfer rumours scare me. Should i go with Firmino and downgrade Mane which will allow me an easier transition into Aubameyang?

I prefer it as is. It may well turn out that Aguero --> Auba is the ideal swap, so I wouldn't go sacrificing players for the first 2 weeks just to make a later transfer easier, if that makes sense

    Morata Aguero

    Button WB Hughes Kamara

Firstly, who out of Luiz and Bailly (assuming they both start the season)

I like to look at my team in just the short term (4/5 GW’S), mainly looking at fixture and form to maximise points and have players in their best patches of the year.

      Bailly.

CHO may not start (probably won't). Morata quite a risky pick but could be gold if he starts well. I'd probably start Hughes over CHO.

Yeah Hughes will automatically come on if CHO doesn’t play.

I think CHO will start at least the first 1/2 GW’s with Willian and Hazard only just returning to training. Can trade him out after that.

bench is a bit weak but dont anticipate having to use it. Also have 0.5 itb if needed.

First team I've seen with sterling. Not that that's a bad thing but think you'll get better value elsewhere. Also think I'd prefer TAA, Bailly and Mendy over your first 3 defenders although would probably switch Ederson the too to avoid 2 city defenders.
Just to note, Shaw will probably need to be moved, holebas may not be 1st choice, monitor Ramsey injury and if be worried about Firmino starting the 1st. I'm not against the weak bench but would advise less risk in the starting 11

Thanks. Yea had taa but then thought he may not start and thats an easy 1m saved on robbo. Baily and shaw were both in my thinking potential double up then shift shaw after a few weeks.
Sterling for me is 2nd highest point scorer and most nailed city winger (imo) and a bit of a deferential as u say

Ramsey carrying knock and transfer speculation. I would go Mkhitaryian. Gives you 1 m to improve bench and perhaps get 6/6.5 striker. Not keen on Holebas. Card magnet also.

        Mkhi not nailed though.

I’d try make it more flexible. What if a premium striker becomes essential like Kun/Auba. Also what if there is a standout mid price option like Zaha/Arnie/King. Sterling will miss first game and could take time to get up to speed after WC.

Was 442 with kun & firmino but thought the 451 maybe a diff so id be flexible enough to drop a mid and upgrade 2nd striker. Still a work in progress

    Thoughts on second draft?

    Ederson - 4.0
Bailly - Arnold - Doherty - Wan Bissaka - Simpson
    Salah - Mane - Mahrez - Richarlison - 4.5
    Kun - Arnie - Zaha

Have City, Utd and Pool defense cover. Spurs should have a shaky start with WC, no WHL and fixtures so avoiding them. Also want to wait and see what happens with Arsenal and Chelsea. Always have 4 playable def and only need 3. Salah and Kun rotate captaincy perfectly. Doubled up on Pool and City attack for obvious reasons. Richarlison is my 6.5 option and can easily switch to Jota/Pedro/Etc if needed. Arnie and Zaha are central to their teams and will be heavily involved. Both are goalscoring teams aswell!

Only weird pick I've not seen before is Simpson. Don't really know much about his prospects

I read today he's looking to leave, or Puel wants him to.

He's basically not in Puels plans. Hopefully gets a transfer out for our wage bill.

4.0 option who looks like he could start and rotates superbly with Wan Bissaka. Even if he doesn’t start it doesn’t affect much.

We don't know but he returned to training early, which impressed Klopp.

He’s definitely first choice. Clyne hasn’t be good since his injury return - even in pre season. Wouldn’t expect rotation to kick in until CL starts which is a while away. Also should start first game with two friendlies and two weeks of training under his belt

      Like it a lot.
Simpson is the only bad pick imo.
If there was a descent 5.0 defender you liked, I drop Simpson to a 4.0 and upgrade Doherty. Otherwise I would just replace Simpson with someone like Tompkins

He could mean the 4.0 defender at BOU though.

Managed to end up with a team completely different to most of my previous drafts, but also better!

    4-3-3 (usually):

    Patricio, (Norris)
Mendy, David Luiz, Robertson, Lovren, (Obi Wan)
    Salah, Eriksen, Silva, (Hughes, Gunarsson)
    Aubameyang, Arnautovic, Austin

    0.5 ITB

Idea is to play 4-3-3 in general with Salah (c), Auba (vc), but with a quality option in Hughes on the bench if anyone is unavailable (e.g. potentially Lovren GW1)

Currently I'm wondering where to spend the extra 0.5. Austin to King/Wood is the obvious one but I reeealllly like Austin as an option. In the past, he's been incredible value. I also wonder if there's a better (more nailed) 4.5 mid than Gunarsson - I've heard Stephens might be under threat from Bissouma

        Thanks.

I've found the forwards the hardest to pick. Think there're a lot of good picks, but not many outstanding ones.

        Will definitely consider

Looks nice but not sure on Pool defense double up. I’d get a cheapie for Robertson and upgrade Hughes to a 6.5 mid like Richarlison or Jota. Then you could get Mane for Eriksen. He could struggle without Kane and Alli at the start. Like the Austin punt!

      1. DantheManinaPan

Thanks - personally most of the stats and analysis I've read suggests the premium defenders are better value than the cheaper midfielders. That's why I have Robertson over the likes of Jota.
Also I'm torn between Mane and Eriksen, but think Liverpool defence is a better investment than any other atm, and hence the pick. Could just as easily argue that without Kane and Alli, Eriksen's goal involvement will be higher, coz they're not nicking stuff off him ๐Ÿ˜›

        Thanks for the advice

      Quality.

          I'm not sure.
Personally I'm wondering whether Sane is a fear pick - it's too frightening going without a City mid so we feel we have to have one! We don't know if he will play every week, whereas we know Eriksen will be at the centre of everything Tottenham do week in week out

Robertson, Baily, David Luiz, Cedric, Wan-Bissaka
    Salah, Mahrez, Richarlison, Mkhitaryan, Cairny

Really solid and very template. I’d look at giving your team a bit of identity and picking a slight differential that you think will do well.

First time i ask for an RMT, after weeks of tinkering.
    What do you think?

    Fab / Patricio
    TAA/Luiz /Mendy
    Richarlison/Keita/Salah/Cairney/Sanchez
    Aguero/King

    WB/Peltier/Sorloth

    1,5 ITB

Sanchez as a placeholder for KdB/Hazard
The Bank-Money for allowing easy upgardes like Keita-->Özil or even a switch to Kane upfront.

Not enough goal scorers in your team. Don’t like Keita pick and bench too weak. Use money to upgrade bench.

What do you think about this?

    Salah, Eriksen, Richarlison, Mkhi

    Kun, Arnie, King
