Introduction to the Article Type

With so many RMTs on site, we’re going to start collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.

Site regular and moderator ZoumasBloomers has here given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.

This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while you’re at it!

Mods have been alerted and will spend some time on these pages responding, but this will work best if you help out others as well as getting responses.

Let’s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!

ZoumasBloomers’s RMT

Fabianski – Patricio

Mendy – Robertson – Cedric – Wan-Bissaka – Tomkins

Salah – Mahrez – Mane – Richarlison – Cairney

Aubameyang – Arnautovic – Sorloth

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5m, obviously a quality goalkeeper with international pedigree, and Wolves have some tight fixtures. Seems a no brainer for the 4.5 rotations, after Ryan/Fabianski didn’t rotate well. Sounds like Wolves were quite tight last year as well.

Fabianski – 4.5m, still got memories of his seemingly random hauls last year. Guaranteed save points. Hopefully going to West Ham doesn’t diminish his point scoring potential (still haven’t forgiven Ogbonna from last season)

Defenders

Mendy – 6m, a bit of a punt early on as he seems to be made of tissue paper and not played many minutes, but from his brief spell last season it’s very clear that he offers attacking potential on top of a decent defensive record. Delph and Zinchenko don’t seem to be in favour, and there’s every chance of a very tasty return to 5 at the back from Pep at some point. Will monitor Community Shield.

Robertson – 6m, should be nailed early season, and has some pretty tidy fixtures. Will get in a few crosses, and very easy to switch down to free up funds if pressing issues arise. May even do a goal. Chances are high that he will become a Man Utd defender once their settled XI becomes apparent, but for now I am happy to avoid Jose’s grumpy circus.

Cedric – 4.5m, I’m expecting absolutely nothing from this bloke, may not even start after the World Cup, and doesn’t get as many attacking returns as he should. However, he seems cheap and fixtures are reasonable. Easily benched if needed. A rabbit hole I seem to dive down at the beginning of every season, at least he wastes less money than Bertrand did last year.

Tomkins – 4.5m, Seems to keep clean sheets when paired with Sakho, and does pose a threat from set pieces. Some decent early fixtures providing Palace start better than last season. Roy should have them in a reasonable shape.

Wan-Bissaka, 4m – Would prefer for this to be Peltier, but injury has put me off there. Likely to be perma-benched unless I shift Tomkins early doors. Could prove to be nailed, and should at least offer some price rises as people realise this.

Midfielders

Salah – 13m, I’m too scared not to.

Mane – 9.5m, I like the look of Liverpool fixtures, and Mane has certainly had a good pre-season. Could possibly be on penalties, definitely seems fresh, and gives a good coverage of Liverpool’s attacking options so that I can spread my strikers around. Will have to put up with a few 60 minute substitutions though.

Mahrez – 9m, all aboard the Pep Guardiola rotation wagon. If playing, he should be high up the field, and was experimented with as number 10/false 9 in preseason. No WC fatigue, just need to wait on injury news. Can easily become David Silva if signs are that he may not start. Fully expecting disappointment after I WC’ed him in last season and he cost me a top 1k finish. Could have some free kicks off KDB if he is feeling generous.

Richarlison –  6.5m, What on earth am I doing!? The man has a 50p head, and misses 1 on 1s for fun. However, £50m signings should start every game, and Everton have great fixtures. Should have a point to prove under Marco Silva, and a proper summer of rest after playing for nearly 12 months last year. Could well be this year’s bargain if he finds his shooting boots. Worth a punt, and a goal in preseason is a good sign.

Cairney – 5m, I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen him play. Looks the best of the 5m options for me purely because Kenedy has shocking early fixtures and Neves plays deep and loves a card. Fully expect Cairney to shuffle to Kenedy on my first WC. Will rotate with my 4th defender and 3rd striker.

Forwards

Aubameyang – 11m, the man that everyone will want from GW3. I’d love a nailed Aguero but I’m concerned that Jesus will steal some minutes in that GW2 fixture against Huddersfield. Saving myself the hassle of a transfer by starting with the Arsenal man, has every chance of scoring vs a travelled City side in GW1 anyway

Arnautovic – 7m, never a dull moment, equal chances of scoring a brace or elbowing someone in the head. Has been banging them in in pre-season, and West Ham’s fixtures aren’t as bad as made out (and they boast a decent squad this season). Concerned that Zaha may move back into midfield, or that his head will have turned by transfer rumours, so going with the early season form and security here. Only issue is that some re-jigging will be needed to turn him into Firmino if things go south.

Sorloth – 5m, Reasonable start to his Palace career, looks quite sharp for an absolute lump of a man and may well header a few in at some point. Likely to always be on the bench, but offers more potential than the 4.5m strikers. Nicely fills out an all Palace bench for me as well.

CONCLUSION

A lot of very highly owned players being overlooked, but a lot of decent price players that can be easily switched.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change? Feel free to tear into me in the comments!

Remember, post your RMTs below in this article. There will be another new RMT Community Article tomorrow.

    A mane + Eriksen
    B Salah + Fraser/schurrle (which?)

      B with Fraser

Salah is the best captain option (and has over 50% ownership) and gives you more flexibility in your squad

How does having Salah Gove you more flexibility, I think quite the opposite.
However, having him is the safe option. I've gone without him myself, I know it's a gamble. But where is the fun in playing it safe? And can you imagine your start of Salah fails to do what he did last year? For the extra spice to FPL I've scratched him.

Might be my final pick this. Untill someone slams it and makes me uncertain again.
    Pickford

    Van Aanholt- Robertson- Daniels

    Mane- Bilva - Mkhi- Sanchez

    Aguero--Firmino-- King

Stekelenburg - WB-- Cairney - Ogbonna

Daniels and Mkhi my only doubts on this lineup - is Mkhi nailed? Bournemouth defence doesn't fill me with confidence either - would probably prefer Boly and Rich/Pedro over those possibly? Could even fit in Shaw ahead of Daniels if you downgrade Mkhi

      1. SirT83

A downgrade of Mikhi is possible to do, however I think Mikhi will play a central role against lesser teams. But I'll take your tips and have a look at it. Good feedback thanks.

United are in shambles ... Sanchez 10,5 seems not worth it and Pickford is just back from WC. Evertons defense not the best either ... Leno might be worth a punt for 5,0 if he is Nr.1

Alexis is placeholder for KDB. Lukaku ain't ready yet (I hope) according to the reports, and Alexis will probably shine from it.

What do you guys think of this strategy?

    Patricio (Stek)
    Luiz, Mendy, Robertson (Wan-B, Peltier)
    Salah, Jota, Bsilva, Maddison (Hudson-O)
    Aguero, Arnie, Zaha

    3 mil in the bank

GW3: Luize for 4,5 def, Arnie/Zaha for Aubu

    1. SirT83

My thoughts are, don't keep 3 million in the bank!!
Upgrade Maddison or Jota and change Luiz. Chelsea defense not up to date yet.

Most probably my final selection, with a view to an early WC, I know it's bench fodder but not interested in that early on, RMT Please :

    Patricio

    D Luiz, Mendy, Robertson, VVD

    Richarlison, Sanchez, Salah, Bilva

    Aguero, King

    Hamer, Hudson-Odoi, Wan-Bissaka, Kamara

Except from Luiz in defense, this looks to be the best starting 11 I've seen.. Got me thinking twice about my own!

    Fabianski - Stekelenburg

      Looks ok Oz.
only criticism 1st sub needs to play .HO to any more nailed 4.5 mid - Stephens/Danny Ward/Masuaka.
can't see HO displacing Hazard/Willian/Pedro/Barkley if he does by some miracle we'll all get him.

    DDG - (Hamer)

Final Touches made. Team Complete 🙂

    Fabianski
    Mendy Robertson PVA
    Salah(C) Manè Jota Richarlison
    Arnautovic Aguero Zaha

    Stekelenburg | AWB | Stephens | Bennett

    Have 1.0m in the bank.

Can easily do Manè》Sanchez/KDB/Hazard or Jota/Richarlison 》 B.Silva if need be, but will sit on this for now with the 1mil itb.

Sane was early subbed on Sunday ... dunno if this is good or bad for his minutes in the PL
Moura is too risky in my eyes, might be soon out of the XI ... just a future transfer wasted

      And why Willy?

    Ryan 4.0
    Robbo Mendy Lowton PVA Wan-Biss
    Salah Mahrez Richarlison Cairney Stephens
    Firmino Aguero Mitrovic

    Thoughts?

Is it worth having a Burnley defender for the first 8 weeks? Do I need Zaha? Is Ryan worth the punt?

How does this look? I need to stop tinkering!

-I really want B Silva who will be good for GW1-4 so decided to bring a big hitter in the form of Firmino instead of going Eriksen/Mane.
-Ultimately I think Firmino + B Silva is BETTER than Mane + Arnautovic.

    Here where I have landed:

    Patricio - Fabianski
    Mendy - VVD - Lowton - Kabalese/Chambers - Wan Bissaka
    Salah - B Silva - Jota - Richarlison - Cairney
    Aguero - Firmino - King

    Feedback welcome!

    Ederson (Speroni)
Coleman, Davide Luiz, Tompkins, (Cedric), (WB)
Salah, Mane, Pedro, B Silva, (Richarlison)
    Aguero, King, *Sturridge

*The big gamble - the idea behind sturridge is - ok he won't play every game. But he's looked very sharp pre-season and looks to be a part of Klopp's plans to some extent. I've made sure i've got a decent backups for when he doesn't pay. There's also plenty of other similarly priced options if(when) he does get injured again. Too risky...?

Unless TAA plays tomorrow and looks like he might start GW1, I'm quite set with this.

    Pickford (Stek)
    Luiz - Mendy - Doherty/WanB/Peltier
Salah - Eriksen - Keita - Costa (Ward)
    Aguero - Firmino -Tosun

Pickford and Luiz to change if Chelsea keeper looks like being a 5.0.

replace Keita with a more offensive MF asset ... he wont score that much and blocks the third Pool spot which you might need sooner than later

first you have to decide on structure and a easy moveable formation. then you need sure starters or the right back up on your bench.Ok lets have a look. if Cabalerro stays second and they get schmeichel in you got Begovic as backup.that will waist a free trasfer straight up you might be better of with a 4.5 pairing like pad and fab or you go with a premium and a 4.0 keeper. i like davis but the fixtures are not as favorable same for moura plus new guys are risky sometimes they need time to adjust to the PL +first off new castle and they will be a hard nut to crack if you ask me.david luiz looks like he is asleep i think sarri gonna seee this very soon too he just looks terrible.Shaw is a kettle of fish of his own and united not looking very convincing at the back + Bailly is flagged with a knock just keep ears and eyes open for news. and there is grey what are we accepting from Grey? he had a coupe of good moments in preseason but thats it and its bloody watford, i am a watford fan but i would stay as far away as i can from watford player fpl wise .your bench is very unbalanced in my opinion.Ok i cant tell you how to go forward with 1.5 in the bank but i can tell you that you need more balance going forward there are many tools arround like season ticker etc. also this site has a pretty good looking template flying around you might keep the players you really want and play around with the template. sorry for the novel couldn't put this in a short reply good luck and let me know if you need anything else.Happy tinkering.

    Pickford
    Mendy Robertson Daniels 4,5
    Salah Mane Sanchez Richarlison
    Aguero King

Best for me so far, but still not happy. Thoughts?

Bench? Shouldn't need too strong a bench, just something to rotate with the 4.5 / post gw 3 daniels.

AWB and 4,5 mid and attack. Not the strongest bench. Downgrade mendy or Robertson to get a stronger bench?

    Fab / Patrício

    Robbo, Mendy, Coleman, Bailly (Wan-B)

    Salah, Eriksen, Jota (Hughes, Cairney)

    Kun, Arnie, Zaha

    Should I
    a. Keep it as it is
    b. Zaha-Sorloth, Fab-4.0, Hughes-Rambo
    c. Bailly-4.5, Jota-Rambo?

Is it good to go with

    Bednarek (4.0M), Daniels (4.5M), Holebas (4.5M), Jagielka (4.5M), Wan-Bissaka (4.0M)

Not going with the premium defenders..any advice?

Not keen on Jags or Everton overall defensively. Holebas? Is he not flagged? Think he has a couple of stiff fixtures first six too so might need a plan for that. I'm also steering clear of Southampton until I know more.

Sorry that all sounds a bit negative doesn't it? I do like Wan-B.

    Hi guys.

Think I've cracked it. Possibly I'm just cracked...

    De Gea/Button
    Mendy/Robertson/Cedric/Daniels/Wan-Bissaka
    Salah/Bernardo Silva/Richarlison/Jota/Stephens
    Aguero/Firmino/King

3-4-3 most probably with the only real gw1 decision being between Cedric, Wan-B & Daniels for 3rd def. Covers Man Utd defensively and City & Liverpool going forward with a couple of punts in there to round out. Thoughts?

De gea is a no as Manutd have been very poor defensively in pre season and last season got lucky due to inform degea..which changed too over the world cup.daniels is by no chance nailed too.downgrade de gea so can upgrade jota/king

If that's your plan Foster rotates pretty well up to Jan.
      gw15 tough for both.

    Speroni - brooks WanB Bennett

Down grade somewhere to upgrade HudO ? Feel like hes a bargin if he plays and if not brooks should get gametime
