Niemi’s RMT

Patricio – Hamer
Mendy – Robertson – Shaw – Wan-Bissaka – Bednarek
Salah – Mane – Mahrez – Richarlison – Jota
Aguero – Mitrovic – Kamara

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5 – I really like Patricio as a GK, I think he’s genuine quality. At 4.5 in a team that have strengthened a lot during the summer I think he could be one of the great bargains this season. It’s a slight risk going with a GK who’s new to the league in a promoted team, but it’s a risk that could easily pay off. I’m going to play him every week.

Hamer – 4.0 – It seems like Hamer have a shot of starting some games for Huddersfield, so he’s my pick of the 4.0s

Defenders

Robertson – 6.0 – Impressive end to last season, very attacking, decent opening fixtures and no World Cup. An easy and sensible pick in my eyes.

Mendy – 6.0 – I was initially lukewarm to Mendy as a pick, but he looks likely to start the first few games and Pep seems confident he’ll become a key player in the Manchester City side this season. With the amazing run of fixtures between gameweek 2 and 7 I’m taking the risk.

Shaw – 5.0 – Another defender I wasn’t convinced about earlier in the preseason. Although he’s now found his way into my team, I’m not totally convinced on how long he’ll remind a starter. Probably the player in my team I’m least convinced about.

Wan-Bissaka – 4.0 – Has made the right back spot his own during preseason, and is an obvious pick with Palace’s nice opening fixtures. I’ve seen Crystal Palace linked to a few right backs though, so I’m monitoring their movements on the transfer market the final days.

Bednarek – 4.0 – Emerged late last season as a budget defender and kept his price for this season. Seems to be prefered alongside Vestergaard and de Hoedt in the back three, but is facing competition from Stephens. A more nailed option is Peltier from Cardiff, but I feel Bednarek has a higher ceiling hence why I’m going with him currently. Swapping Shaw and Bednarek with 2×4.5 is something I’m weighting up.

Midfielders

Salah – 13.0 – Doesn’t really need an explanation. Been in my team since the game opened, and not going anywhere. Captaincy option every week.

Mane – 9.5 – I’ve had Eriksen in this spot for most parts of the pre-season, but Tottenham is a big worry at the moment with many players yet to return from the WC break, squad players injured, and transfer business yet to happen. Mane is for me the obvious replacement showing decent form in pre-season, as well as kind fixtures at the start and potentially penalties.

Mahrez – 9.0 – Been in and out of my team, but after the game against Chelsea I feel fairly settled with him. Looked dangerous and could easily had returns on another day. Bernardo Silva has crossed my mind, but despite Pep’s quotes I’m not convinced he’s a better pick for the start of the season.

Richarlison – 6.5 – An amazing pick at the start of last season, before totally disappearing. Had great underlying stats, and he’s a player I personally like. Everton’s pre-season form is a worry, but the potential is definitely there at 6.5.

Jota – 6.5 – Been in my team for most of the season. A key attacking player in an interesting Wolves side, and could even be used up front in some games. I’m well aware there’s a good bunch of players that do well in Championship but can’t reproduce those performances in the Premier League, but I have a feeling Jota won’t be one of them. Maddison at Leicester is also a player I’m closely monitoring and I can’t rule out him finding his way into my team at the expense of Jota or Richarlison.

Forwards

Aguero – 11.0 – A player that always finds his way into my team, who I love captaining. This season is no different; he’s been in my team the whole time and the game against Chelsea just made me more confident.

Mitrovic – 6.5 – A player that I like a lot personally. I hoped he would come in at 6.0, but I still think he could be decent value at 6.5. I fully expect him to be Fulham’s penalty taker this season, which is a big advantage.

Kamara – 4.5 – Decided early I wanted to go with a third forward at 4.5, and Kamara seems to be the pick of the bunch. I don’t expect him to be a regular starter, but he’ll probably get some minutes here and there.

Conclusion

I feel fairly confident in my team right now, but a few minor changes are possible. The defence is slightly risky but otherwise I feel my team is pretty safe with decent alternatives to my midfielders and forwards available at the same price point.

What are your thoughts on my team? Have I missed out on any obvious picks, or gone with players that I shouldn’t?

Remember, post your RMTs below in this article. There will be another new RMT Community Article tomorrow.

    2nd draft:

    Fabianski

    Stones, Daniels, Alexander-Arnold
    Pogba, Hudson-Odoi, Salah, Mahrez
    Zaha, Firmino, Agüero

    Subs:
    Ryan
    Doherty
    Zanka
    Kenedy

    what you guys think?

A lot of risks in there for me. Stones, Alexander-Arnold and Pogba only just returned to training. Daniels might not play by GW4 after Rico returns from suspension. I’d maybe look at one or two surer starters, at least for now. They’re good picks otherwise, World Cup involvement aside, but you might find you’re a player or two short early on.

Defence is combination of bad fixtures and uncertainty to start.

Nice squad, Niemi. Here are my thoughts.

    1. Dangerously weak goalkeepers.
    2. Very strong and decent defence with some good reasoning. Wouldn't change a thing. (Except that I feel like going with VVD instead of Robertson)
    3. I'd sell Jota for a 5.0 to upgrade your attack and/or your goalkeeper spot. This leads to my next point:
    4. Your attack is weak. Agüero is a great pick, but Mitrovic and Kamara aren't gonna make you sleep at night. Yes, Mitrovic ended last season with a lot of goals, but none of the goals were of any class IMO. So, you could go for King at 6.5 instead, or spend 0.5 more to get a quality 7.0 attacker.
    5. It seems you can play both 4-3-3 and 3-5-2. What are your plans and why?

I hope you, or someone else, will take a look at my team too.

    GK: McCarthy/Fabianski
I feel good about this rotation, always one side on home soil, decent games coming in.

    DEF: Azpilicueta/van Dijk/Daniels/Wan-Bissaka/Peltier
Gonna rotate Daniels and Wan-B, but I still feel it's a bit weak. Not really gonna use Peltier.

    MID: Sanchéz/Mané/Bilva/Kanté/Hudson-Odoi
Only thing I don't really love right now is Kanté. Hm.

    ATT: Agüero/Aubameyang/Zaha
Thought about going with Lukaku instead of Auba for the first 2 GWs, but screw it, United won't ever score 3 in a game. Could downgrade for better defense.

    Going to play 3-4-3.

Comment your RMT and I'll give you as good feedback as you give me 🙂

Team is good but I would make quite a few changes, although there are no bad picks so mostly down to personal preference. I almost always wildcard early and I can see a WC in GW3 for a lot of Managers regardless, so for that reason I am going without Arsenal assets to begin with.

I see Salah as essential, same as 3 City and 3 Liverpool to begin with. Fancy both teams to score very well. Chelsea are a bit of an unknown for me, so I think two assets could be a little risky.

I feel the same about Chelsea. Would love to have 3 players from Liverpool, but really find it hard to get Salah into my team. Would you sell Auba then? And who would you go for, for your third City player, in my case?

Also, it's my first year really going into this fantasy game, since I've been playing a Danish one, so could you elaborate the early wildcard tactic?

        Cheers

Solid enough team but when you realise Salah isn’t there it suddenly feels a bit thin. I’d expect a bit more strength in depth when leaving out Salah.

Perhaps that money is too tied up in Azpilicueta and Sanchez, neither of who I feel strongly about. A downgrade there, reinvested into a Kante upgrade would make the world of difference in my opinion.

I’ve gone Lacazette over Aubameyang, how are you feeling on that one? Interested to hear your thoughts - frees up a bit of money too after all.

        Hmm. I need Salah, don't I.

I think I just need to fall in love with a cheaper alternative to Azpilicueta, but I just don't fancy Trippier or Maguire. Bellerin could be an option for me, or Alderweireld if he goes to United, but I need some convincing.

About Lacazette. I've considered it myself, since it's basically the same coverage, but to me, there is just a large difference in quality. Of 5 stars, I'd give Auba 4 and Lacazette 3. I wouldn't be surprised if Lacazette only scores 1 or 2 in the first 5 weeks. Please tell me why I should go with Lacazette, it would be great to free some funds.

Also, what would you put in my team when Kanté is gone?

        1. Fletcher Moss

If you go with Salah that team will suddenly look very different so it’s hard to say. That’s a call you’ve got to make and let everything fall from there.

I’ve gone for Lacazette after he finished last season so strongly alongside Auba. I agree he’s not of the same quality but he seems to have the central position which should lead to more chances.

Also, with the number of 6.5m options available, that 1.5m makes all the difference when a 4th midfielder can go from Kante at 5m to someone like Jota, Sessegnon, Richarlison, Maddison, etc at 6.5m. Being able to jump around that bracket based on form/fixtures could be key.

Suddenly I'm considering Richarlison/Lacazette over Kanté/Aubameyang, although my stomach tells me to go with the latter. Your point about the central player makes sense to me, and is actually something I've always thought about too. But, Auba is on pens.

            Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I ended up heading out but hoping you still see this.

Not trying to say one way is right but always nice to discuss an alternative train of thought with someone. I’ll be listening carefully this week to make sure Laca is a certain starter as he’s come off the bench in a few friendlies lately. But the extra funds may be enough for me if he looks a safe bet.

Good luck for the season, however your team ends up by Friday evening.

Azpilicueta could easily become 6 or Luzi, if you want to stick with Chelsea. Extra funds could be spent on Kante replacement. If you are happy with Azpi, then Cairney should be the way as 4th mid to me.

I could bring in Luiz instead, to free 1.0, but with 6.0 for a midfielder, I just don't see any tempting players.

Schürrle will need some time to adjust I think, and I have too much (1 player, haha) United/Arsenal coverage to go Xhaka or Fred. What are your thoughts? Fernandinho?

To me, Kanté is just as good as any of the above, since I believe Jorginho will make Kanté score more points.

Mooy did quite well previous season. He's on set pieces. 5.5m od reasonable for his potential returns.
Agree, nit much attractive 6m options. Fernandinho oraz Fred ar just little bit better and more expenaive Kante on terms od FPL.

Is it worth downgrading the defence (or Mahrez -> B.Silva) to switch to 3-4-3 with Richarlison? I want to keep 3 Liverpool and 3 City 'attackers' whatever.

    Patricio
    Robertson, Mendy, Shaw, 5.0
    Salah, Mahrez, Mane
    Aguero, Zaha, Arnie

    (4.0, AWB, Stephens, Peltier)

    Cheers.

I'd downgrade Mahrez to Bilva and upgrade Shaw and your other 5.0. The rest is fine though I'm not entirely sure Zaha will provide good value.

    Begovic
    Robertson Tomkins Shaw
    Salah Mahrez Moura Jota
    Aguero Lacazette King

    Fabianski Hudson-Odoi Doherty Peltier

Worried my bench is too weak with Peltier’s knock and Hudson-Odoi, a punt that’s based on a hope Sarri rewards his pre-season form.

    Could do:
    Begovic, Moura, Hudson-Odoi, King
    to
    Hamer, Maddison, Fraser, Mitrovic

    De Gea [£4m]

    Aguero, Auba, Arnautovic

Looks good, but it would be best if you have subs who cover Neves' worst fixtures (esp. GW 3 & 6). Wouldn't want him playing every week.

Trying to capitalise on a decent Arsenal attack, along with a decent Liverpool/City defence and attack, with a decent enough bench to deal with any issues without panic-selling. What do you reckon?

    Patricio
    Mendy Robertson PVA TAA
    Mane Bernado Richarlison
    Aguero Aubameyang Lacazette

    Norris | Hughes Tomkins Chalobah

    * Can't decide between Tomkins and Schlupp. Tomkins has better goal threat according to stats, but I think Schlupp could start scoring goals if he gets a regular run in the team.

    * Hoping Mane will prove better value than Salah. He's my captain for GW1, and if he's on pens, he is also a candidate for captaincy in GWs 3 & 6, at least.

    * Tempted to replace Richarlison with Mata, but currently leaning towards Rich for the longevity (especially with Bernado in the team already). His poor GW6 (ars) could be covered by Hughes (ful).

    * I don't see a problem doubling on Watford, since Chalobah will mostly be a third sub.

    * Likewise, I don't see an issue with double Arsenal, since I won't be rotating them. I would like to have made the most of the value in Zaha, I am slightly concerned by Zaha's potential move away from forward position where he saw his 5 goals in 6 games.

    Captaincy:

    GW1: Captain Manéring
    GW2: Kolonel Kun
GW3-9: Commander Yang, Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François

    Bench:

GW1: BenjiMending (ars) replaced by Hughes (BHA)
GW2: AmbulanceVan Aanholt (LIV) replaced by Hughes (bur)
    GW3: As pictured.

In isolation i believe i could argue the case that every single player in your squad could prove a good pick, i'd like to offer some Kind of a "worst-case scenario" to make my point.

You've used the first 9gwks as a sample, so heres my worst case prediction for that selection of players over the first 9 gwks:
      Number of starts:
      Robertson: 6
      Mendy: 6
      TAA: 5
      Mane: 7
      Bernardo: 6
      Aguero: 6
      Laca: 6
      Auba: 8
Chalobah: might not play at all?
The other players: should start every game?

This might not be likely, but would you consider highly unlikely? If you agre I'd look to adress it Somehow, because if your looking at loosing an average of 2 of your starting 11 each gwk, I believe the risks taken are to big.

Noice! This makes me excited to see if I'm gonna get autosub points each week! 😆

I think Chalobah is pretty nailed, but if I change my mind on that one, I could easily swap for Stephens or something.

Bernado, Mane and Aguero aren't nailed in my squad for 9 GWs, thankfully. I'm likely to use FTs to sell at least 2 of them. So the current team is set up for the start of the season, barring potential captaincy plans, Chalobah (who could miss a match) and TAA, (likewise).

Your worst case scenario actually fills me with a bit more confidence, thanks. But I will bear it in mind in the final days before the deadline. Lacazette's minutes might be the most concerning, given the money paid and the opening fixtures. I definitely see the argument for waiting and assessing, but I still think he's the best option going besides Firmino (who I can't get (by design) because I've gone for 3 Pool elsewhere).

Thanks for your thoughtful reply 🙂

In all fairness you prob wont have to endure as many nonstarters, but there are some areas of your team were I think your'e more exposed than you need to be.

I dont know about you, but I feel that most of us use our transfers on the attacking slots rather than the defensive ones. Thats why I believe defenders should be as nailed as possible. I've had robbo all the way, and been on the fence wit regards to Mendy, but was convinced after CS.

          So my defence was
          Ahead of CS:
          Ed
          Rob, PVA, Coleman, tomkins, AWB
          And after:
          Pickford
VVD , PVA, Mendy, tomkins, awb

After slotting mendy in, i just couldnt bear the thought of having both robbo and mendy, two really expensive defs being rotational. This would be my judgement regardless of 4th and 5th def.

Youve got Rob, mendy and TAA, and considering schlupp. That just seems to much of a risk with very small potential gain?

          1. Deulofail
            • 9 Years

Wouldn't take much to convince me to go for VVD instead of Robertson!

I agree about using the transfers on attacking slots. It's half the reason I mind mind going heavy at the back, since defenders tend to be more reliable. Might be a bit different regarding these particular premium players, but I'd imagine if Robbo misses a game, he'll be back the next game, and possibly the same for Mendy. Whereas the same can't necessarily be said of midfielder of a similar price, who's playing time and/or form can fluctuate more violently.

Perhaps a simple move for VVD would satisfy this concern, since the bench should be able to deal with up to 3 players missing anyway...

(Don't forget that, with 4 at the back, a TAA no-show could mean that Hughes can replace him. It doesn't have to be Tomkins/Schlupp 🙂 )

I'd go VVD! especially with both TAA and Mendy.

Seems like were very much in agreement.

Except the use of a transfer, could you highlight the clear benefits from starting with Laca, when you could use the first gwks to assess the concerns you have for him?

Oh boy, you're really challengin my today. Thanks! Okay, so except for saving that FT for a player I would (probably) want long-term:

                1) I'm avoiding the others, but I can still switch to them:

                (i) There are issues with every forward at a cheaper price (as well as more expensive). My favourite options are Vardy (WC/fixtures); Morata (Competition/Arsenal in GW2, so the advantage ovr Laca is only 1 game); Zaha (back on the wing?); Arnie (fixtures); Tosun (Everton form/competition); Wood (Injury/EL); Mitrovic (Fulham unknown in PL); and I could keep going. The only one I think is at least as good as Lacazette is Firmino, but I've already spent my Liverpool slots elsewhere for the best value over replacement players. Firmino doesn't get me enough more than Lacazette over the course of the first 5-7 GWs, say, to compete with what I'd lose if I went for Perreira over TAA or Bavies over Robertson, for example, imo. That and I think Lacazette is more liekly to start the first game (~96%) than Firmino (~87%). 😀

(ii) Premium = easy downgrade. I can monitor Morata, Vardy and most forwards, and sell Lacazette for any of them if I'm unhappy with him. I could also quite easily find the 0.5 for Lukaku by downgrading Hughes to a 4.5, Mane to Alli, Bernado to Mkhi, Tomkins to AWB, Agyero to Jesus or Richarlison to Meyer, for example.

                2) My concerns about Lacazette's playing time are legitimate concerns, but not as big as the concerns I have about the other players I mentioned above:

                (i) Lacazette and Aubameyang have always looked good while on the pitch together, which increases the chances they will continue to play (well) together.

(ii) Emery will likely feel some pressure from the fans to play them both after they hate Wenger got, in part, for "treating Lacazette poorly". Originally, I thought Lacazette should be benched (or the two rotated) as I feared an injury would hurt the team too much without another signing (e.g. Zaha). However, Nelson has looked good in pre-season and Emery has backed Iwobi, so they are almost like new signings themselves 😀

(iii) Emery could also switch to a 4-3-3 if he wants to (if he's not already playing it) in the even he is short on attacking players, in which case Lacazette and Aubameyang would probably be first choice, and if one were injured, he has Ozil and Mkhi (along with Iwobi and Nelson) to cover either side of the striker.

(iv) Lacazette has also scored 6 times in pre-season to match Aubameyang, with 2 assists to Aubameyang's 3. It would be a little silly to leave him out unless he played poorly in the first two, but even then, the fixture swing should be enough of a reason to give him another chance to score goals and build confidence.

                (v) Less need to protect/rest your best players at the start of the season.

                3) I'm an Arsenal fan and it will be fun and/or soul-destroying, but a rollercoaster nonetheless! As I said in the original post, I wanted to tap into Arsenal's attack because it looks great at the moment. This sounds like an argument from "cover", but what I really mean is that I might value Lacazette a bit higher than others' because I value the Arsenal attack a bit more than the average bear, so I might expect an extra goal against the tough opponents. I'm also not averse to a double up simple for the aversion to double up, eggs and baskets, etc.

I hope that answers your question 😉

                  Great reply!

I get it your not fixed at playing 4-3-3? So in fact all your thoughts about value over replacementplayer, in the case of Laca, stretches to midfielders aswell?

I'd love to have enough faith in Laca to make him a part of my squad. Don't feel like i've got enough "proof" to make it so, and will prob have to make two transfers to get him for gw3 if he looks like good value. So yeah, if you've got big faith in him and Arsenal, I can definately Get behind your logic.

Pretty good tbh but not keen on double aresnal forwards, nor TAA

As much as I would love a Pool 5.0 defender, I think TAA is a big risk, both to start off the season (as nobody knows if he or Clyne will start the season) and long term. Even if he does start, I anticipate he will be rotated heavily with Clyne. Not a PVA fan but can see why people pick him with attacking returns and nice fixtures. Best Salahless team I've seen so far, and a good bench too with three starters. I'm not sure you need such a strong bench though. Who would you take out of your starting 11 to use that bench?

      1. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

I need a strong bench because of TAA 😆

I would take out Mendy in GW1, PVA in GW2 and Richarlison in GW6.

But it's mostly to cover injuries/rotation, what with TAA, Bilva, Aguero, Mane, Lacazette, Robertson....basically what WesMantooth said above 🙂

I've also organised it so that I'm only spending 1.0 above baseline on the bench to still get decent players. I see others spending more for about the same quality, in my opinion anyway.

Would you not rather downgrade Hughes to a 4.5 midfielder and Tomkins to Wan Bisaka and just upgrade TAA to Van Dijk?

            • 9 Years
            7 years, 4 months ago

Hmm but then if any player gets injured/dropped/rotated, I have to play AWB, and he's not as exciting as Hughes or Tomkins who can both score goals. If more than on player is injured/dropped/rotated, I have to play a crummy 4.5 mid. Plus I wouldn't be able to cover those three fixtures I mentioned above, nor choose a decent first sub every week (because AWB would be the obvious, though fairly lame, choice each week). I'll think about it, but I'm looking to avoid an early WC, so I don't think it's likely I'll go with the minimum bench tbh.

Here we go again...appreciate any feedback from you wise, sage peeps...

    Patricio
    Shaw / Robertson / Mendy
    Richarlison / Mikhi / Salah / BSilva
    Aguero / Firminio / King

    Fabianski / Hudson-O / Wan-Biss / Peltier

Researched and feel happy with all of them except for 1) Mikhi - swept up with all the love 2) BSilva - watched the CS and he looked good, and heard Guards comments, but feel he may be a waste of MC midfielder..

Anyways...would very much appreciate any feedback..

Niemi - nice team, but it seems very risky having 3 defenders you can't be 100% sure of.
How about Fraser in place of jota/rich and user the extra 1.0 for Pva in place of Shaw and upgrading bednarek to a 4.5.

I really want to take a punt on mitrovic, but king and Zaha look better on my screen either side of kun.

Ok I think this is nice looking team, my only concern really is Daniels who I have put there as a place holder. I would also prefer King over Gray but alas I dont have the funds unless I downgrade someone which I dont want to. Who would you put as the 4.5 defender or would u change something?
    Patricio
    Robertson - Tomkins - Daniels?
    Sanchez - Bilva - Rich - Mane - Salah
    Aguero - Gray

bench is just the cheapest template bench

    1. MysticMac17

I considered Gray too, think he should do well for first 3 gameweeks but you should look to sell him after that. Do you have any plans to change him after that and for who? Yeah Daniels is a no go for me. Bournemouth defence is hopeless, and even with kind fixtures, I will never trust that defence. Ake is also meant to be injured so that decreases their defensive prospects further. I don't like the 4.5 options besides Tomkins, so for Daniels replacement I would look to find a 4.5 defender that you can rotate Wan Bisaka with? Maybe a Wolves defender?

    Patricio
Mendy Walker Van Dijk Wan Bisaka

Planning an earlier WC? If not, you might want a stronger bench.

      1. MysticMac17

        7 years, 4 months ago

I do see your point for sure but I think all my starting 11 players are nailed with maybe the exception of Wan Bisaka. Peltier also will start but is not nailed either in the long term (depends how he plays with Richards there also) while Kamara looks like starting the first few gameweeks until Fulham change their system when Mawson comes into the team.

With this team I have 0.5 In the bank so can actually upgrade my bench but I don't want to. Its a risk I'm willing to take. I'm gonna use the money to upgrade Eriksen to KDB in GW 3. In GW 4 I'm planning on downgrading Van Dijk and using the money to upgrade Mane to Hazard when Chelsea have Bournemouth and Cardiff back to back at home (big scores I anticipate for him).

For now, my wildcard is planned for the second international break. If worst comes to worst, I will use after GW 4 in the first international break.

double city defence and no city attack?

      1. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

I was strongly considering the Mendy Walker double up, but I fugured I could get better value from Mendy and Robertson/VVD with Bilva, instead of the City double with Keita. Then I downgraded the Pool defender to get Robbo + TAA + Bilva.

I think Mendy + Walker is a good idea, and could reward long-term. Perhaps ultimately not the most optimal combination though.

        1. MysticMac17
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 4 months ago

Agreed, it hasnt been mentioned much on the threads. I think they could become very popular, particluarly if Pep roatets between using his systems. If he changes to a 3-5-2, that will surely mean much higher expected points for both Walker and Mendy and there doesnt seem to be much competition in those positions (Danilo at RB and Delph at LB and mayyyybe Sane at LWB).

      2. MysticMac17
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

I will get KDB in GW3. I have 0.5 in the bank with this team and I will upgrade Eriksen to him in GW3. As for the attack, I don't trust Pep with rotation (even after Aguero's goals yesterday). And even if they do play 3-5-2 at some stage, Mendy and Walker should get more points playing in advanced positions as wing backs.

      1. MysticMac17
        • 7 Years

I can get a premium striker by downgrading my premium midfielders (most likely Sanchez). The only premium strikers I will be interested in bringing in as Arsenal ones when their fixtures get good from GW3 onwards. I can always downgrade Sanchez and upgrade my 4.5 striker to Laca who I anticipate will become popular.

I think my ultra premium midfield (and their kind fixtures) counters the risk of not having Aguero. I also imagine Mendy and Walker will get clean sheets in GW 2

Maitland-Niles isn't likely to be LB for long. Perhaps 0-2 GWs? That would leave you with 1 playing sub (assuming AWB does start), right? Or is Kamara more nailed than I'm thinking?

          You'd have to sacrifice Mane.
I'd back Auba to outside Mane

    Fabianski
    Doherty

Danilo is injured, and won't be around early weeks of the season.

I've not seen Danilo, Kennedy or Lingard in a single RMT before.

And Son is off to the Asian Games after GW1. And Lingard won't be around for the opening game. And Kenedy has terrible fixtures, and won't be available to face his parent club in GW3.

Danilo injured, Son off to Asian cup after GW1. Kenedy bad fixtures and not available GW3. Look for a cheaper mid that Son and spread the saved money into the defence.

Thoughts on below? team overall and my selection dilemma

    Fab Patricio
    Mendy Shaw Coleman Bedranek AWB
    Salah Richarlison B.Silva Sánchez stephens
    Kun Arnie King

Ideally would love 0.5more to upgrade Coleman to Robertson but I think it’s a decent team nevertheless

Could downgrade bilva to Jota and upgrade defence?

Could downgrade Sánchez to Mane and upgrade defence

How about downgrade Shaw to a nailed 4.5 then upgrade Coleman to Robbo

Think you need more Liverpool attack

Pretty settled at the moment. Bailly's 'knock' is concerning me though.

    Ederson (Stekelenburg)
    Robertson Mendy Luiz Bailly (Wan-Biss)
    Salah Mané Richarlison (Cairney Stephens)
    Aguero Zaha Arnie

Ahead of GW4 (just before Liverpool face a run of lei, tot, SOU, che, MCI) I'm going to look to bring in KDB (or another City attacker who may be in good form) for Mané. This will require Ederson being downgraded, probably to whoever is in goal for Arsenal (5.0), provided Arsenal don't look a shambles at the back.

Not bad at all. McDonald likes a booking so may be worth looking at Dale Stephens.

Would you do Gross to Richarlison to perhaps upgrade McDonald to Ralls or Cairney?
