Let’s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!

Niemi’s RMT

Patricio – Hamer
Mendy – Robertson – Shaw – Wan-Bissaka – Bednarek
Salah – Mane – Mahrez – Richarlison – Jota
Aguero – Mitrovic – Kamara

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5 – I really like Patricio as a GK, I think he’s genuine quality. At 4.5 in a team that have strengthened a lot during the summer I think he could be one of the great bargains this season. It’s a slight risk going with a GK who’s new to the league in a promoted team, but it’s a risk that could easily pay off. I’m going to play him every week.

Hamer – 4.0 – It seems like Hamer have a shot of starting some games for Huddersfield, so he’s my pick of the 4.0s

Defenders

Robertson – 6.0 – Impressive end to last season, very attacking, decent opening fixtures and no World Cup. An easy and sensible pick in my eyes.

Mendy – 6.0 – I was initially lukewarm to Mendy as a pick, but he looks likely to start the first few games and Pep seems confident he’ll become a key player in the Manchester City side this season. With the amazing run of fixtures between gameweek 2 and 7 I’m taking the risk.

Shaw – 5.0 – Another defender I wasn’t convinced about earlier in the preseason. Although he’s now found his way into my team, I’m not totally convinced on how long he’ll remind a starter. Probably the player in my team I’m least convinced about.

Wan-Bissaka – 4.0 – Has made the right back spot his own during preseason, and is an obvious pick with Palace’s nice opening fixtures. I’ve seen Crystal Palace linked to a few right backs though, so I’m monitoring their movements on the transfer market the final days.

Bednarek – 4.0 – Emerged late last season as a budget defender and kept his price for this season. Seems to be prefered alongside Vestergaard and de Hoedt in the back three, but is facing competition from Stephens. A more nailed option is Peltier from Cardiff, but I feel Bednarek has a higher ceiling hence why I’m going with him currently. Swapping Shaw and Bednarek with 2×4.5 is something I’m weighting up.

Midfielders

Salah – 13.0 – Doesn’t really need an explanation. Been in my team since the game opened, and not going anywhere. Captaincy option every week.

Mane – 9.5 – I’ve had Eriksen in this spot for most parts of the pre-season, but Tottenham is a big worry at the moment with many players yet to return from the WC break, squad players injured, and transfer business yet to happen. Mane is for me the obvious replacement showing decent form in pre-season, as well as kind fixtures at the start and potentially penalties.

Mahrez – 9.0 – Been in and out of my team, but after the game against Chelsea I feel fairly settled with him. Looked dangerous and could easily had returns on another day. Bernardo Silva has crossed my mind, but despite Pep’s quotes I’m not convinced he’s a better pick for the start of the season.

Richarlison – 6.5 – An amazing pick at the start of last season, before totally disappearing. Had great underlying stats, and he’s a player I personally like. Everton’s pre-season form is a worry, but the potential is definitely there at 6.5.

Jota – 6.5 – Been in my team for most of the season. A key attacking player in an interesting Wolves side, and could even be used up front in some games. I’m well aware there’s a good bunch of players that do well in Championship but can’t reproduce those performances in the Premier League, but I have a feeling Jota won’t be one of them. Maddison at Leicester is also a player I’m closely monitoring and I can’t rule out him finding his way into my team at the expense of Jota or Richarlison.

Forwards

Aguero – 11.0 – A player that always finds his way into my team, who I love captaining. This season is no different; he’s been in my team the whole time and the game against Chelsea just made me more confident.

Mitrovic – 6.5 – A player that I like a lot personally. I hoped he would come in at 6.0, but I still think he could be decent value at 6.5. I fully expect him to be Fulham’s penalty taker this season, which is a big advantage.

Kamara – 4.5 – Decided early I wanted to go with a third forward at 4.5, and Kamara seems to be the pick of the bunch. I don’t expect him to be a regular starter, but he’ll probably get some minutes here and there.

Conclusion

I feel fairly confident in my team right now, but a few minor changes are possible. The defence is slightly risky but otherwise I feel my team is pretty safe with decent alternatives to my midfielders and forwards available at the same price point.

What are your thoughts on my team? Have I missed out on any obvious picks, or gone with players that I shouldn’t?

Very similar to my squad. I've got Bailly, Mane over PVA, Alexis.

Looks good, personally would want United def coverage over a luxury player like PVA.

Downgrade a power mid and get a heavy hitting striker. I don’t like the inflexibility of having all 7 or under strikers.

Is smalling going to play? Don’t think so.

Would also look at a more consistent nailed 4.5 mid, Hudson Odoi will be void sooner rather than later.

Can’t say much negative about it but I don’t think Milli will be worth it from the outset.

Maybe a bit of bitterness from never owning him....

But logic will say his returns should regress. Look at a Jota/Maddison/Sessegnon player. More exciting.

Appreciate the comments. But Mili scored high last year though and nailed on pens. Think Zaha will get him a few this season, there’s a reason for his heavy price increase I feel. And don’t want too many newly promoted players in my side

The midfield is a bit light. The thing about Liverpool is the attack. For those reasons i would swap out VVD for a 5.5m option and add either Firmino or Mane and Bernardo Silva or Mahrez.

      Good luck!

    Ederson, Hamer
Robertson, Luiz, Bailly (if fit), Dunk, Wan-Bissaka

    Aguero, Firmino, Mitrovic

Another option would be Alexis -> Salah and Firmino -> Zaha/King

    My 1st RMT:

    Fabianski --- McCarthy
    Mendy . Robertson . Bailly . Hoedt --- Wan-Bissaka
    Mané . Richarlison . Salah . Mahrez --- Wilshere
    Aubameyang . Austin --- Kamara

    £0.5mil ITB.

    Rotation plan:

    GW1 - Hoedt, Burnley (H)
    GW2 - Wilshere, Bournemouth (H) [Old team]
    GW3 - Hoedt, Leicester (H)
    GW4 - Wilshere, Wolves (H)
    GW5 - Hoedt, Brighton (H)
    GW6 - Wan-Bissaka, Newcastle (H) [Or Wilshere, Chelsea (H) {London Derby}]
    GW7 - Wan-Bissaka, Bournemouth (A) [Or Hoedt, Wolves (A)]
    GW8 - Wan-Bissaka, Wolves (H) [Or Wilshere, Brighton (A)]
    GW9 - Hoedt, Bournemouth (A)
    GW10 - Hoedt, Newcastle (H)
    GW11 - Wilshere, Burnley (H)
    GW12 - Hoedt, Watford (H)

    GW13 - Wildcard

I know Wilshere isn't great but only plan to use him 4 times, 6 max in 12 weeks.

Southampton Defense is unpopular, but look at the fixtures in that rotation, there a few cleanies in there.

I think Wolves defence could be more solid than Southamptons. Wolves rotate pretty well with Palace first 10 gameweeks. Boly/Doughty for Hoedt?

    RMT?

    Ederson
Tomkins - Van Dijk - Mendy
    Salah(c) - BSilva - Eriksen - Richarlison - Sanchez(vc)
    Zaha - Arnautovic
Subs: Hamer, Kamara, Wan Bissaka, Peltier
    0,5itb

Sanchez to De Bruyne, Silva to Pogba/Ozil in a few weeks time...

Really wanted Aguero, but that ment with Mkhitaryan - Jota in midfield instead of Eriksen and Silva.
£11M for Aguero, with rotation risk, when captaining Salah most weeks? Tough call

Personally avoiding Spurs until after GW7, 5 out of 7 matches away, half the team staying late at the world cup, could go Eriksen > Mahrez. Although I'm an Arsenal fan so I'm also just hoping that Spurs start slow.

I think this is it... Any suggestion would be appreciated

    Patricio (Hamer)

Mendy - Robbs - Francis (AWB - Peltier)

Salah - Mané - Mahrez - Richarlison (4.5 still deciding who)

    Agüero - Tosun - King

My last doubt is Richarlison vs Jota... Really think Everton will score a lot this season, and doubling on their attack makes sense.

It doesn't mean they don't have a good chance at starting just because they're priced at 4.0m

but less chances to start. 4.0 for a reason

Slowly getting there. Would you rather have Walker or Bilva in your team?

Yeah very short term just until gw3 or something. I am also very tempted to go Moura to Siggy.

Id be a little worried with Arnie. He has a lot of competition for the striker role and opening fixture is not great

      Definitely from GW3
Probably wait to see who emerges as the best option.

    RMT

    Foster
    David Luiz, Robertson, Shaw, Tomkins
    Salah, Mane, B.Silva, Mahrez
    Aguero, Tosun

    Fabianski, Kamara, 4.0, 4.5

Have a feeling Tosun will do great so dont want to drop him
Also 3 city attackers did wonders for me at the start of last season
    Any feedback welcome

Looks good. You know the risk / rewards in a City triple attack. You might have the right one for now but can't see Bilva holding his spot for long despite Pep's kind words.
Don't like the Tosun pick. GL

Looking ok or changes needed. Please suggest.
Will probably go Erik and Coleman to
KDB and Bellerin in GW 3 with .5 ITB

    Patricio

    Robertson Mendy Shaw Coleman

    Salah Mane Eriksen Frazer

    Aubameyang Zaha

    Button Stephens Wan-B Kamara

Like the Fraser pick. Don’t see him on many teams but get points

Can't see anyone else at that price range that jumps out and he has great fixtures too.
        Thanks.

Too much $$$ on defence. Don't think that's ever been a winning strategy in FPL

    RMT?

    Patrício
    Robertson, David Luiz, Mendy, Wan-Bissaka
    Salah, Eriksen, Mané
    Zaha, King, Agüero

    (Hamer, Kanté, Stephens, Peltier)

Can start Kante in 343 instead of 442 some weeks.

It's very good and very similar to mine above so I suppose I have to say that 🙂

If wan-B is not a starter you are in trouble.
Its like you are fielding 10 each week if depending on Kante as that looks like being 2 points each week.

Thanks yeah it's a risk but I really want Eriksen in that front 6.....my other option has BSilva in for Eriksen and BDavies in for Peltier...not sure. Yeah Kante is good for 2 or 3 most weeks...could get Cairney or Neves but same problem I think, not much in it.

          Very similar dilemmas
Looking at a way to get BSilva in to my team.
Eriksen I have and will have a lot but with KDB back by GW3 I will lose him for awhile. He can come in for Mane later down the line aswell.
