Mendy misses out for Man City as Bernardo Silva returns

Benjamin Mendy (£6.5m) was the surprise absentee for Manchester City on Saturday afternoon as he was not even named in the match-day squad to face Fulham.

Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) kept his place in the starting line-up while Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) came back in with Gabriel Jesus (£10.4m) dropping to the bench.

Nicolas Otamendi (£6.2m) made his first start of the season alongside Aymeric Laporte (£5.5m), who has now featured from the beginning in every match so far.

Ryan Sessegnon (£6.3m) returned to the Fulham side facing the champions today, but he has been deployed at left-back with Luciano Vietto (£5.5m) and Andre Schurrle (£5.9m) flanking Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m).

Ryan Fraser (£5.6m) was named in the Bournemouth starting XI after an injury scare while Jamie Vardy (£8.9m) returns from suspension for the visitors.

Popular Chelsea trio of Marcos Alonso (£6.8m), Eden Hazard (£10.7m) and Pedro (£6.8m) all start for the Blues. Meanwhile, there was a second consecutive start up front for Cardiff City’s FPL midfield option Danny Ward (£4.5m).

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) was named in the starting XI for Crystal Palace as they face Huddersfield with James Tomkins (£4.4m) coming back too.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£7.2m) was on the Arsenal bench for a second match in a row, with Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) starting again.

Early transfers with European football back this week is a no no for me, but if Hazard/Fraser rise or Eriksen or Wally drop more than .1 'll be priced out. An early hits on the cards but I hate doing it.

    Is it worth the -4?

Hazard worth the risk. Will rise at least .2

It's only worth it if you get away with it! I wouldn't make a move this early myself.

I'm normally safe with transfers especially where there us football to be played before the deadline. I don't think now is the time to change that tactic either.

Don't like the fact Gross is normally benched for away games. But Richarlison definitely deserves consideration.

Fair enough I mean Brighton’s fixtures do heat up come that gw but richarlison after arsenal also has a good run!

I would go Maddie and that’s not a knee jerk to scoring today. Leicester have good fixtures and he’s playing well and nailed. Spurs also have good fixtures now as well but I do think Son will come in for Moura at some point.

Of the two you are thinking of I like Maddie but Richarlison also decent although he cannot keep up his conversion rate.

Had him since GW2, captained him last 2 weeks, but will probably captain Salah next week.

I don't think anyone thinks he'll score a hattrick next week, it's just that he's a REALLY good player to buy. He'll probably be the top scoring FPL player this season.

Its a very broad audience here & hard to categorise eveyone into a single group, but I would imagine at one extremem there are some folks who had never had Hazard in their plans, and now will be transferring him in, in some cases for hits on the back of his hattrick. At the other end of the spectrum there will be folks who saw how good he looked in his early appearances, and the good fixtures combined with a tougher run for liverpool on paper and jumped in early.

Regardless of where each person personally places on that scale, its not rocket science to see a forward classed as a midfielder, who is on penalties, and in a very attacking team, with very good fixtures, and expect them to do well.

Hats off to the captainers, they were the real winners today 🙂

Easy pick for this game. Giants of the game, serious title contenders, led by a manager with some pedigree from Spain, have some south american flair a large european striker and some serious pace in the attack. Should be an easy win for the hornets

I would say no. Salah -> Hazard makes more sense imo.

Anyone who watched the Bournemouth vs Leicester game.....Aside from the penalty, how was Maddison?

Lining him up as my Mkhi replacement as I already have Wilson for Bournemouth so Fraser seems like overkill. How terrible were Leicester generally?

There are going to be some managers with huge scores tonight. Unfortunately I will not be one of them
