Fixtures

Which FPL players are on international duty ahead of Gameweek 9?

A week of international fixtures gets underway today, with two African Cup of Nations qualifiers and a cluster of friendlies kicking off a nervy period in which we keep our fingers crossed in the hope of our Fantasy assets returning to England unscathed.

This article gives a club-by-club rundown on which assets will be away from their sides during this period, also detailing the dates in which these players will be competing for their respective countries.

There are four players in action in the early hours of Wednesday, October 17 who then face a long-haul flight back from the Americas: Alexis Sanchez (£10.0m), DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m), Davinson Sanchez (£5.8m) and Raul Jimenez (£5.6m).

Davinson was among the substitutes in Spurs’ Premier League match against Liverpool immediately after the September international break, though Yedlin was thrust straight back into the Newcastle United starting XI for the visit of Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez sat out Chile’s previous two fixtures last month, while Jimenez was recalled early by Wolves as a precautionary measure in plenty of time ahead of Gameweek 5.

Manchester United are in action in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, October 20, so it remains to be seen whether Alexis features from the start against Chelsea after his exertions in Mexico next Wednesday morning. Jimenez and Wolves, meanwhile, take on Watford at 3pm on that same Saturday.

The good news for owners of Fantasy assets playing for Brazil and Argentina is that their meeting on Tuesday, October 16 will take place in Saudi Arabia, meaning an earlier-than-usual finish time for the likes of Roberto Firmino (£9.4m), Alisson (£5.6m), Ederson (£5.7m), Richarlison (£6.8m), Lucas Moura (£7.4m) and Roberto Pereyra (£6.2m) and a shorter flight back to the UK.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.7m), Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), Sadio Mane (£9.9m), Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) and Son Heung-min (£8.3m) are among the FPL players who are in action in Africa and Asia next Tuesday, meanwhile.

Sergio Aguero (£11.3m), Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m), Aymeric Laporte (£5.7m) and Benjamin Mendy (£6.2m) are some of the more notable “uninjured” players who won’t feature for their respective national teams over the coming week.

He'll be my captain and I have no Liverpool attack, so the more the merrier for me personally. Brace not to be sniffed at, though, I'll take it for sure.

        What's your view on this?

I was planning to use my WC over the IB, but not sure it's worth it. Perhaps my one FT is enough? Waddayasay:

        De Gea
        Doherty, Robertson, Alonso, Wan-Bissaka
        Salah, Hazard, Bernardo Silva, Fraser
        Mitrovic, Agüero

        Hamer, Wan-Bissaka, Stephens, Kamara

I'd love to get rid of DDG, and bench is horrible, but other than that seems fine?

Chelsea have good long term fixtures but Alonso's stats in the last 4 GWs are considerably down from the first 4 GWs. Is he still essential? Weighing up these two combinations on WC:

            A) Alonso, Maddison & Mitrovic
            B) Alexander-Arnold, Fraser & Lacazette

B would be double Liverpool defence with Robertson.

this is a tough i have A and TAA, i would go A.

A is stronger I think. Wouldn't drop Alonso with these sweet fixtures ahead.

Alonso is No. 3 in the entire league for value. A season-long hold for me.

TAA and Lacazette's minutes could be managed. And Fraser has a turn of fixtures in the the coming GWks.

A is the only option, till you find a better B plan.

I think A wins that one comfortably

                Alonso>>Alexander Arnold
                Maddison>Fraser

Thanks guys. Currently on A. Alonso's ownership is so high that I'd be worried to go without him.

Playing around with wildcard options and I don't like the look of what I'm creating. I feel salah or mane need to go to make full use of it but since their fixtures are so good through fear I can't sell yet.

Think I may hold until around gw12 and hope the current template been broken by then.

Figure people have been debating this one: Mitrovic or Arnautovic? Decent fixtures for both and similar performances thus far...

                  I think it’s easy.

Go with mitrovic, then switch to Arnie for Gw14.

Just a thought but would it be useful to have the players sorted by ownership?Like, high/ medium/ low ownership... Great info though!

That's a good idea, sorted by position is another option I toyed with but time got away. I did find myself battling with the futility of listing Domingos Quina's fixtures for the Portugal U20s...

There's no way he completes 90 at Wembley.

If he scores, he'll be substituted to an ovation as I see that as a tight scoring match.

If he doesn't, which seems more likely against more physical defenders, Jesus will be given 30 odd minutes.

Yeah. And so far I’d been ultra conservative with early transfers so far this season...with no meaningful injuries really. Maybe Mendy and KdB? Nothing else springs to mind.

So I thought! What the heck and used my 2FT on Sunday night.

Expecting at least 4 red flags and 5 yellows by Saturday week.

                          Ryan of those.

Ederson is, for me, the best value route into the City backline so I'd rather him.

Don't forget it's Champions League 23/24 October though.... Aguero will still only play 60-70 minutes against Burnley.

I think he'll play at Shaktar - he gets a 6 day rest before Mon 29th against Spurs

Already own robertson (no plan to make any of the moves till end of next week)

                        A) kane and moura > Salah + firmino (-4) fancy firmino to step up over the next few games given the fixtures over laca

                        B) alonso and moura > Salah + Bennett (-4)

                        C) moura > mane (ft)

Understandable. I'm going into this gwk with no Liverpool attack as Def fell asunder and needed a major change.

I suppose A could work really well should Liverpool slaughter Huddersfield. Still, I stick with C.

Defo keep an eye on Salah. If he gets reduced minutes and/or plays well for Egypt might just have to get him. I'm secretly hoping he picks up a knock so I can get Mane without looking over my shoulder. My team feels a lot more balanced with Mane but I just wouldn't feel as happy to captain him.

I'm considering a ridiculous hit now to make my midfield:

                            Salah, Hazard, Richarlison, Obiang, Hojbjerg

Play 4-3-3. Allows me to get Robbo next week for Shaw.

The objective is that Liverpool are where all the points are over the next 4. The best 4 Pool players are Salah, Robertson, TAA. This is the only way I can get all 3 over two weeks.

Or else I'll have to pick up Gomez or Mane instead.

I think I want Robertson more than both of them even is the problem 😛 He's got good attacking threat and bonus point darling. Think he can easily do like 11, 7, 5, 9 or something like that over the next 4 games.

Siggy one of the form players in the PL. He is fixture proof when in this level of form. Who's looking to bring him in?

Away fixtures very bad but might compensate with great home fixtures coming up.

Yeah, he's on the watchlist. Have RIchi, and not sure on the double up.

Everton's fixtures alternate easy:hard for a bit so need a rotation strategy as I'm not sure Siggy is that good against the good teams is he?

If he was between 6.5 and 7.0 I think I'd consider him. 7.4/7.5 is a price I can't fit in my WC team.
