Points ceilings and floors dominate proceedings on our latest Scoutcast as Joe, Az, Luke and Neale look over the key issues facing managers ahead of Gameweek 13.

A chief concern is who to replace red-flagged Benjamin Mendy with, after the Frenchmen underwent surgery last week. The enticing points floor of clean sheet returns offered by the full-back’s Manchester City team mates, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte, appeals to Luke.

Meanwhile, Joe prefers the higher ceiling offered by the likes of Everton left-back Lucas Digne, who has been posting some impressive underlying statistics lately to suggest attacking returns are on the way.

As well as defensive issues our community questions section also cover the value offered by Toffees assets across the pitch, and whether 12.4m priced Harry Kane is worth the outlay when Spurs fixtures turn.

Whether Anthony Martial’s six goals in his last five matches is a sign the Manchester United attacker is  in form, or merely overperforming, is also discussed.

      Created most chances in the match v Brighton and then whipped in some quality corners against Chelsea, last two games. Plus he’s got Keane as Mina attacking those corners. 3 winnable home games out of next 4. Also looked strong in the tackle against Chelsea and won some 50/50s so not sure where the weak chat is coming from.

      A. Since you don't have any other MCI defensive cover, Laporte is essential for your squad.
      Also, no reason to ditch Bennett before his next 2, and the surgery you suggest in B and C is not worth it.

      Thanks guys. I was considering benching Fraser for Bennett. Benching arnie is a decent shout too maybe.
      Playing Bennett can help soften the Doherty pts possibly too. The fear of none owning.

    What option would you pick (first player gets in this week, the other next week).

    A: Laporte + Martial
    B: Digne + Dilva/Mahrez
    C: Schindler + Sane

    A probably looks the prettiest on the paper, C looks wildly attractive to me for the reason that I think Sane will come good, but its the likeliest that I do B as I think Digne is a solid pick and Id probably take a City mid over Tony.

    Had been leaning towards Doherty but I own Patricio and Bennett already which puts me off. Maddison > Martial likely to be my other transfer

      Can you still afford Maddy > Martial if you go for TAA? If so, they look like good moves.

      Agree that Wolves def triple-up is too much, but if you want Doherty you could always upgrade Bennett next week (maybe WB, Yedlin?). Good luck.
