Crucial Champions League action has huge FPL implications

Tonight’s Champions League matches could have a huge impact on the Fantasy Premier League 2018/19 landscape.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, whose assets have been popular this season, are in action in the European competition.

Qualification to the knockout stages is on the line, with neither club assured of their fate.

Liverpool must beat Napoli to stand any chance of progressing, and may also have to rely on results elsewhere.

If Red Star Belgrade beat PSG then a victory of any sort will suffice, but if the French side are victorious then Liverpool must either win 1-0 or by two clear goals.

A one-goal margin of victory will not be enough if Napoli score.

Meanwhile, Spurs need to match Inter Milan’s result against PSV to secure passage to the next round.

That is not something to be assured of given that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are facing Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

At this stage, either one of Liverpool or Tottenham could end up in the Europa League or be eliminated from continental competitions altogether.

Either scenario would have a big impact on Fantasy. Europa League fixtures would mean a greater concentration of Sunday matches, especially pertinent for those playing the Sky Sports game.

Furthermore, either one of those clubs being knocked out altogether would potentially heighten the appeal of their Fantasy options with fewer fixtures to fulfil in 2019.

Sky sports is a British audience broadcasting company, right?

Last week they covered the fact that England & Scotland Womens football teams have been drawn together in the world cup.
Ok, so 2/3 minutes talking about the tie and interviews.
They then go on to discuss Englands record versus the other two group members (Argentina & Japan).
No mention of the fact that there's another British team playing Argentina and Japan, so the coverage was purely for England's womens team....

Just highlighting what is a 'constant' in Sky, BBC & ITV sports coverage who are all broadcasting to the "British' public.
We pay the same fees after all.
It's nothing new but it's a disgusting state of affairs.

It seems to imitate Sky Sports football coverage of Premier League teams, they'd rather spend more talking about teams in the top 6 (England Women 4 in the world) then the others (Scotalnd are 20 in the world).

Shout out to all FFS Man Utd fans.

Put your hand up, with no judgement, if you would love if Klopp was United's manager and Mourino was Liverpool's.

I'll get the ball rolling by saying that SAF was the greatest of all time in England ahead of Paisley and Shankly.

        True.
I was more pumped about the Klopp interview than anything tonight.
The delight at the game plan working, through preperation, in nullyifiyng the Napoli attack so well..
He's matured them into a team that is at Euope's best in game management rather than one of Europe's best at being exciting and scoring goals only.
It's such a positive transition and he always always first and foremost gives credit to the fans.
Then look at sourly Mou, who when things do go Well, claims the credit for himself. Or when things go badly, throws his players under a bus.

I know who I'd rather and United fans can only look on with envy at Pep and Klopp even if they can't admit it.

If your 11 workers on the pitch don’t perform you generally dong win. Jose has lost many in that dressing room.
Some players didn’t like pep at first but just got on with it with proven results and all the hard work has paid off. Klopp treats his players well and has a style of play and it all seems fun and hard work gets results. Jose has lost the dressing room at more than 2 clubs now and thus his stock has crashed.

A bit off topic but I have my reasons 😀 If your very life depended on picking a victor out of the following games this coming weekend, who would you put your trust in?...

    Crystal Palace V Leicester

    Fulham V West Ham

D definitely. Maybe C as well.

Choice might be made with you, potentially with A out and maybe even E.

Did the TAA injury look serious?

Thoughts on Dele Alli as an option? He looked good with Son against Leicester but was missing against Arsenal, also had a blinder against Chelsea, a little bit streaky? But surely more assured of starts ahead of Son?

There's a good amount of chatter about keeping track of Arsenal and whether they go to a back 4. Kola out then? And who around 5.0 could replace him? Already have Doherty.

I have my eye on him, but maybe not for a couple GWs.

Yeah good point, all though the home game against Spurs not so bad as he could get an attacking return and they were so close to getting a clean sheet at Anfield.

Really think Kola's spot is safe for now. Holding is out long term, Sokratis and Mustafi suspended, and Koscielny just getting back in the team. I imagine they'll keep a back three with Monreal, Kos, and maybe Lichtsteiner for now, with Bellerin and Kola as wing backs. Hard to say if he keeps his place in the next couple weeks though

Otherwise, maybe Holebas? On almost every set piece, and decent fixtures

    Foster
    Doherty-Alonso-Robertson-Wan Bissaka
    Hazard-Dilva-Richa-Felipe Anderson
    Kane-Auba

    Fabianski-Success-Duffy-Billing

    Dilva to..?
    A) Dilva> Bilva
    B) Dilva> Mahrez
    C) Dilva > Son
    D) Dilva + Billing >Gundo + Son/Bilva - 4
    E) Dilva + Success > Gundo + Mitro - 4

    Thanks for helping me out!

    Schmeichel
    TAA Kolasinac Alonso
    Pereyra Dilva Anderson Hazard
    Kamara Lacazette Kane

    Stekelenburg Richarlison AWB Digne

Dilva & Laca > Sterling & Mitro for -4 good moves?
Have exact funds but want to wait till after tomorrow's game to ensure Sterling doesn't get injured

Definitely wait till after games tomorrow. Since you've already got Laca i'd be patient with him. Not sure what else you could do since I don't know what you have ITB
