Crucial Champions League action has huge FPL implications

Tonight’s Champions League matches could have a huge impact on the Fantasy Premier League 2018/19 landscape.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, whose assets have been popular this season, are in action in the European competition.

Qualification to the knockout stages is on the line, with neither club assured of their fate.

Liverpool must beat Napoli to stand any chance of progressing, and may also have to rely on results elsewhere.

If Red Star Belgrade beat PSG then a victory of any sort will suffice, but if the French side are victorious then Liverpool must either win 1-0 or by two clear goals.

A one-goal margin of victory will not be enough if Napoli score.

Meanwhile, Spurs need to match Inter Milan’s result against PSV to secure passage to the next round.

That is not something to be assured of given that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are facing Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

At this stage, either one of Liverpool or Tottenham could end up in the Europa League or be eliminated from continental competitions altogether.

Either scenario would have a big impact on Fantasy. Europa League fixtures would mean a greater concentration of Sunday matches, especially pertinent for those playing the Sky Sports game.

Furthermore, either one of those clubs being knocked out altogether would potentially heighten the appeal of their Fantasy options with fewer fixtures to fulfil in 2019.

    1 ft, 3 problems:

    Duffy (2 match ban left)
    Martial
    Wilson

Who should I deal with first?

Don’t see Martial or Wilson as problems?!

Wilson has tougher fixtures, but he’s cheap and shown he can score in tough fixtures.

Martial is one of the highest value players in the game. May it may not be injured, but unlikely to be a long one.

    Ederson
    Alonso, TAA, AWB
    Sane, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Gudmundsson
    Kane(c), Lacazette, Success

    Subs: Keane, Obiang, Jonny

Sigurdsson and Gudmundsson to Snodgrass and Alli for -4?

Or other problems I should address ?

Go Snodgrass then. Should leave you a nice wodge of cash to upgrade your 2nd striker for free next week.

Auba scores a brace in the weekend which wont suprise us actually... Sterling gets crazy...and Salah gets 2-3pts vs United... then Salah out will he back. Why do people make judgement only by analising last GW?
I had Salah until now. Im happy. Its just that Kane Auba Sterling will score more in next month or so than Salah. Same for Haz too

After Inter you still had quite a task left to qualify for the group stages. Getting through the way you did, after it looked like you were going out you get a goal at the Nou Camp late on to qualify. If that doesn't get the players buzzing then I don't know what will. I would be well happy if my team had just did that, I wouldn't be worrying about Burnley tbh.

I am well happy. Absolutely buzzing. But I think if you look at last season too, we rarely played well the weekends after big CL games. I do hope I’m wrong though.

As I thought. Win at Dortmund followed by 0-0 at home to Swansea; win v Real Madrid followed by 1-0 win at home to Palace; win v Dortmund followed by 1-1 draw at home to WBA.

              See a pattern?

Earlier this season I looked at every single post-midweek match over the last couple of years and can confirm this. Spurs mean average is almost a goal fewer in games following. They do still win regularly but are slower out of the blocks and rely more on defence to secure the 3 points. I would not be captaining Kane this weekend if I did or him

A for next few weeks before he goes to Asia cup in early jan.

Well he spent his 1.3itb and his TV is still 105m so .. any increases this week = lost value on sold players with upgrades costing 1.3 on his two transfers so he brought in xxx and xxx and sold xxx and xxx.

Like B for christmas. Højbjerg on 4Ys and Fraser got dodgy fixtures in gw 19 & 20. Assuming you have 2FT?

    Play wc or wait?

    1 FT 1.9 itb

    Fab
    VVD, Alonso, Doherty
    Rich, Salah, Felipe a, Fraser
    Jimenez, Kane (C), Laca

    (4.0, AWB, Diangana, Dunk)

Could do Rich to a mid under 8.9 e.g. Spurs or Chelsea mid for next gw... or Dunk to any defender. Obvs city options but idk if i fancy any city under 8.9 and only short term ie 1 or 2 gws as will need to wc soon

    Thoughts?? Cheers

Tricky. I think since you got Kane as captain you could wait. Something (injuries etc) could always come up.

Prob Dunk or Rich to someone, or even Diangana. Obvious move I would look at is Rich > Son but doubt he will start v Burnley.

Ty. Yh could do with a guaranteed starter 🙂 may look at pedro or willian if they dont play midweek. Or a Luiz/Davies

If Aguero is back vs Everton what are your thoughts?Do you think it's worth more than Kane or Auba/Laca or maybe even consider to sell Hazard/Salah/Sterling to get him in?

Not rushing him in for this game

I'd wait. If he plays itll be limited minutes. Personally think I'll give city one more week until i wc and.bring in sane, aguero or sterling

    Patricio Hamer
    Alonso Rob Doherty Digne AWB
    Salah Sterling Anderson Rich Fraser
    Auba Jimenez Success

1.1m ITB & 1FT. Still got my WC. Know I dont have to do anything, but when I am I ever going to use it?

    A) WC and use Salah to fund someone like Kane, Sane, Son etc
    B) Wait (when would you use it)?
