Captains

Vote in the Captain poll for Gameweek 18

There is a whole of options for the captain’s armband in Gameweek 18 and now you can cast your vote in the latest poll below.

Manchester City’s home match against Crystal Palace instantly looks like one fixture to target with the defending Premier League champions so dominant at home.

Leroy Sané (£9.6m), Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) are expected to be the most backed Citizens given their form at the Etihad Stadium this season.

Those perhaps unwilling to risk a ticket for ‘Pep Guardiola Roulette’ might look to Tottenham’s Sunday afternoon trip to face Everton.

Harry Kane (£12.6m) may have been sluggish against Burnley but the Toffees are without a clean sheet since Gameweek 13, while the Spurs forward netted a brace amid criticism from Fantasy managers at Goodison Park last season.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and Son Heung-min (£8.5m) may also be considered by anyone with little faith in Marco Silva’s defence.

A return to a more familiar attacking style for Liverpool in their 3-1 win over Manchester United may reinvigorate support for Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and his colleagues.

Elsewhere, an in-form Eden Hazard (£11.0m) hosts a Leicester City side without a clean sheet on the road since Gameweek 11.

Arsenal are the outfit hosting the obliging Burnley defence in Gameweek 18 but it will be interesting to see how much the disappointing scores of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) and Alexander Lacazette (£9.6m), combined with the Clarets’ tight display against Spurs, will affect their share of this week’s vote.

Er, nothing, it's a great team apart from the goalkeeper situation maybe. Can you get Flappy in?

If you can I would, and you won't waste a transfer. If necessary maybe downgrade Fraser to Snoddy to fund it.

HAAH - Manchester City, Wolverhampton, Chelsea, Bournemouth, West Ham, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Arsenal, Cardiff, Everton.

BBC have posted an article on rest periods and when the games fall over Xmas. Useful to those of us that play Sky, TFF and other games that allow you to make transfers during a game week.

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46279118

Spurs and Everton really do look like they have got the rough of it, much easier for City & especially Liverpool.

No City cover this week, save FT or take -4? 1.5 ITB:

    Alisson (Hamer)
    Alonso Robbo Doherty (AWB, Bennet)
    Hazard Anderson Rich Fraer (Billing)
    Kane Auba Jiminez

    -4 option would be:

    1) Alisson + Anderson > Fabianksi + Sane
    2) Auba/Kane > Mitro + Fraser > Sane/Sterling

2FT, 0.1m ITB, any suggestions chaps?

Looking at Ederson > Fabianski or TAA > Digne and saving the other FT. No route to Hazard (not willing to sell the City lads) a worry.

    Ederson
    Alonso, Doherty, Robertson
    Sane, Sterling, Richarlison, Fraser, F.Anderson
    Kane, Wilson,

    (Button)(Jiménez, TAA, AWB)

Save TAA > Digne to next week. May want to take Fraser out then too so could use this week for 1FT and free up some cash?

Ederson > Fab seems to make sense. 2 FT's next week for Digne and upgrade Fraser.

    A - Hart > Fabianski
    B - Cairney > Anderson
    C - Cairney > Snoddy
    D - Other?

    Hart
    Robertson - Doherty - Bednarek
    Salah - Eriksen - Richarlison - Fraser

    Hennesey - Cairney - AWB - Duffy

    2FT with 1.4mn ITB
    A) Murray -> Rashford/Ings
    B) Cook -> D.Luiz

    D) Patricio -> Ederson (Can't afford any city defenders)

Why am i seeing so many posts about getting rid of Son? He's been amazing value recently, he got the rest we all expected against Burnley, (so is surely a decent bet to start again this week, and thereafter too cos he's going to Asian cup in Jan). Also Spurs only just scraped the win against Burnley, no doubt partly as a result of him not being on the pitch (so Poch unlikely to rest again too much).

    Am i missing something?

    1. Limited & Mediocre Mana…

Because he got 1 point last game. That apparently means sell according to FPLers.

      • 7 Years

I wouldn't ship but I wouldn't bring him in, of course, because of the Asian cup.

We see way too much of this. "X was benched so I'm getting rid".

      Instead we should read

"X was benched so he will almost certainly start the next game".

Especially when it comes to captain picks. How did we KNOW that Kane would play 90 against Burnley? It was the benching in the previous game.

If a good player doesnt score every week his position in their squad is immediately in question. Good job most managers aren't like that else the selections would be even more of a roulette.

I should have added - if you know that a player is normally first choice or close to first choice and their form is good, such as Son.

Random benchings like Ozil because of form or effort are different.

    a) Ings >> hud(a), whu(h), mci(h), che(a), lei(a), eve(h), cry(h), bur(a), cardiff(h)

    b) wilson >> bri(h), tot(a), manu(a), wat(h), eve(a), whu(h), che(h), car(a), liv(a)

having Ings over Wilson will allow me to keep robbo in my team on WC. Is he worth the risk?

United don't attack, I won't be surprised if Cardiff win the game like 2-0

Saw lots of Team jumping on Lee Peltier(3.8)... I thought he was second choice to Joe Bennet.

    Am I missing something?

Wow, barring a trip to the Etihad, West Ham have good fixtures all the way until April 6. Incredible run.
