Merry Christmas From Fantasy Football Scout

Christmas Day is finally upon us, giving us the opportunity to take a break from Fantasy Premier League, as hard as that is.

While you’ll probably be devouring roast dinner rather than FPL content on this special day, I’m sure the cogs in your mind will still be whirring over the next 24 hours.

You might open presents hoping not for a pair of socks but for a double-figure captain haul under the wrapping. Or perhaps instead of deciding whether to go for light or dark turkey meat, you’ll be more perplexed over whether you should start Wan-Bissaka or Ryan Fraser on Boxing Day.

It has been a season of transition at Fantasy Football Scout. The biggest change has been our esteemed leader Mark taking a step back from the forefront of things, and the introduction of a new team.

I want to extend my thanks to the Fantasy Football Scout community for making us feel so welcome in these new roles. Believe me when I say it was quite a daunting prospect when we first took them on, considering the monster-sized boots we had to fill!

The work of deputy editor Neale, community manager Geoff and Paul, as ever, plugging away behind the scenes, have been invaluable to helping us produce content we have been proud to deliver.

A great big thanks also goes to our team of mods for the endless and difficult job they do for us everyday.

That just leaves me to make a rare request for you to tear yourself away from the site for this one day of the year and spend some time with your family and friends.

We will have the team news round-up, scout picks and captain analysis coming out either later today or tomorrow morning so that when you log back into the world of Fantasy football on Boxing Day morning you will have everything at your finger-tips for Gameweek 19.

        sterling is not worth it. Bulk of city's play channels through Sane's flank. Sane 2 mill less and equal if not less likely to be rotated. two city mids not worth it

    Surprised that many here don't understand that rotation of a player depends first and foremost on the player's fitness and how injury prone he is. Some players are more fit than others and want to play every minute. That is why Messi and Ronaldo don't get rotated much for example. Players like Sterling, Son, Martial, Aguero usually have their minutes managed even when the schedule is not tough. You won't see them complete 90 minutes 3 or 4 matches in a row. Other players have their minutes managed because of age or being injury prone. D.Silva, Snodgrass, Murray, Ings, Kun are examples of that. Expect these two kinds of players to get rotated in this busy period more than the Kanes, the Lukakus. Players that can be flogged almost week in week out.
