Finding the best combination of premium FPL options

After the hectic Christmas period, there is no little consensus over which premium Fantasy Premier League options are the best to own.

The problem has been particularly prevalent in midfield and attack with the recent re-emergence of Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) forcing managers to chop and change their more expensive assets to get him back in.

We have decided to take the opportunity of the upcoming break from league action to compare some of the popular players at the dearer end of their classification.

These are Salah, Raheem Sterling (£11.3m), Eden Hazard (£11.1m), Leroy Sané (£9.5m) and Paul Pogba (£8.4m) in midfield with Harry Kane (£12.6m), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.4m), Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.1m) up front.

Using the Fantasy Football Scout members’ area we have weighed these options against each other for various statistics over the last six Gameweeks.

The analysis takes into account their minutes per shots in the box, minutes per efforts on target, creativity and expected data.

We have chosen the period of the last six Gameweeks to factor in the hectic festive period but also to take into account some of the matches before that too.

Those who aren’t currently paid up members could wait until the weekend to pick up a discounted membership for £10 and access this later…

    Bit early i no, considering we have another week, but would you wildcard this team? Lack of man city cover worries me,

    Lloris
    Luiz, taa, Pereira, awb
    Pogba, salah, hazard, camarasa
    Rashford, kane,

    Bench, hamer, rondon, shaw, Torreira

      I wouldn’t. Lack of city cover is the only thing desperately missing really. For me, over the coming weeks I’d downgrade Shaw Torreira Lloris and upgrade somewhere else - one of their replacements maybe

      Too many "ifs" involved. What if they don't get knocked out ? Then you've got a £8.8 player sitting bench ,not ideal

      They've got to play China, Philippines and Kyrgyzstan. Quite fanciful to suggest they'll get knocked out early. Although I'm not averse to keeping son anyway.

    Which one would you prefer?

    A) Keep FT
    B) Son to Salah, Martial to Sane/Eriksen next week
    C) Martial to Sane, Son to Salah next week

    I have no Kane so maybe Eriksen would be nice o cover some Spurs? Or you think that Sane is better option - next 3 games looking nice for City and have no City cover as well.

    Pickford / Foster

      Hmm maybe too much money spent on GKs - would pick Guaita over Foster, maybe.
      Also maybe do Holebas -> Lovren, downgrade Firmino to Rashford and upgrade Silva (whichever one it is) to Sané.
      Just my opinion.

    This is my current team:
    Pat - Fab
    Kola - D. Luiz - Doherty - Keane - Holebas
    Son - Haz - Pereyra - F.Anderson - Rich
    Kane - Laca - Kamara

    Am really considering WCing to this lot:
    Lloris - Guaita
    TAA - D. Luiz - Digne - Lovren - Bednarek
    Salah - Sané - Pogba - Rich - Camarasa
    Kane - Arnie - Kamara

    Should I do it? Is it too soon to use my Wildcard?
    Really want some Liverpool assets in, but don't want to do too many hits.

    How have Cardiff looked over the last few games? Is etheridge a real option (can't rely on penalty saves all season)?

      Patricio, surely. Unless you already got Doherty/Bennett - don't think a double up on Wolves assets are a good idea.

      Etheridge could be worth a shout, but Cardiff are really shipping goals left and right atm.

      Don't think he would of agreed to go unless he had been guaranteed game time.

      Oh tough one. Think raahford just edges it for me. Although you perhaps have a rotation issue with him which you don't with Arne. But then Arne is always injured.

      Who know. Hope that helps.

    Which one? Have 2 FTs.

    A. Mitro + Anderson --> Arnauto + Richarlison
    B. Mitro + Anderson --> Rashford + Fraser/Perreyra
    C. Mitro + Anderson --> Firmino + Westwood (With WC in 2 weeks time)
    D. Mitro + Son --> Firmino + Fraser
    E. Mitro + Son + Anderson --> Rashford + Sane + Deulofeu for -4

    Lots of options! Looking to break template.
