Bookies odds on clean sheet and go with that. Which will probably be LEI rather than CPL. Watford haven't failed to score since GW14

Here's a question. Why the need to bring people in from twitter who have never contributed to the community when you've had people who have been here for years that blow their records out of the water?

maybe to attract non-FFS members who are on twitter?

That must be it. It's always baffled me that one. It's nothing personal, it's just business.

If they have a following then they’re reaching out to more people, good marketing

Yep,marketing, that's the main problem with it all.

Seems like everyone selling out. Scoutcast, Twitter , YouTube. Full of personalities ( although that's subjective) but lacking any real FPL credentials and not really saying anything, and worse of all cashing in. Sad times.

I'm sure Geoff is doing his best but I think it's all against him. Mark is clearly all about making money and marketing now the site has grown as best he can . I dont like where he has taken it, or how it's in cahoots with FPL, nor do many other long time members but it is what it is and we change with it or leave which many have sadly done

The least the powers that be can do is give people who contribute to the site presently some exposure. That isn't asking a lot.

If folk wanna hear from FPL general , FPL corporal or FPL Sellout on Twitter they should go to their account, not via here.

Subjective I know but there you go ladies .

It's so this. When you hear them talk on the scoutcast they reference Twitter way more than the forums.

      Yeah, fair point really.

This was set up to bring in outside opinions that might be different from the thinking here, people we trust who have followings and generally have interesting things to say.

I think you're right though, there's room to do a more focused FFS user panel kind of article. If a user wants to take this on I'd be more than happy to help it along

That's nice to hear you say that Geoff. Hopefully some will come forward, it can only enhance the community feel of the place at the end of the day.

Yeah definitely. A weekly Community Article would do the trick I think. If a user takes charge of collecting the Community Panel responses the panel could just add them into a shared spreadsheet, or email them directly to the manager collecting the responses. Easy stuff, just takes a bit of initiative each week.

Hoping to get a few community things together for next season. Like this one:

So far this season he's scored 2 goals and an assist against Spurs, a goal against Chelsea, an assist against Man U, and also against Arsenal.

(Totals for the season, 6 goals, 6 assists, in 20 starts).

It's amazing managers are loosing Son after accumulating 88 points in the last 8 gameweek's he's started. That's 11 points per gw!

He has United next and as much as they have improved under OGS, Spurs are on top form as well and Son is playing as a striker for them. Definitely going to keep for this gw and maybe loose after, not before.

"In Son's absence, Tottenham host Chelsea in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie on Tuesday, with the return fixture to be played on January 22. The 26-year-old will also miss Spurs' crucial clash against Manchester United next Sunday."

      One of VVD and Firmino.

Either Liverpool will get nervy chasing the title, keep it tight and churn out 1-0 wins from now until the end of the season (set piece goals from VVD).

Or they will think attack is the best form of defence and start battering teams, whereby Bobby F will score tons.

Player: Kane. 4 of his next 5 are at home where he doesn't do well and Spurs are goal shy. These include a tough game against Utd, matches against Newcastle and Leicester who can park a bus. Kane drops deep in these kinds of matches. Son also leaving after Utd game will affect Kane as he has assisted a lot of Son's goals. Auba is under performing on his stats and will explode soon. City look to be back in form and money will be needed in midfield. Time to get rid?

Team: Man CIty. Time to jump back on their assets? They seem to be back to form and Aguero is back.

Spurs are goal shy? In December they put 3 past Southampton and 5 past Bournemouth- both in home games.
Auba will explode because he is under-performing?
Newcastle can park a bus? I'm a Newcastle fan and we conceded 3 vs a poor West Ham team and got absolutely battered vs Liverpool. Spurs could easily put 3-4 past us.

Apart from Bournemouth, they haven't been scoring much at Wembley. 1-0 against Burnley and 1-3 against Wolves; an organised team. As for Newcastle, I think the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool was a surprise result. Rafa doesn't concede a lot on the road. I am not sure when the Westham defeat was but seems like a long time ago.

      1. Aubameyang vs. Kane - With many managers looking to upgrade mid-high priced midfielders (Fanderson, Son etc.) to Man City assets whilst holding Salah and Hazard, there appears to be room for only one premium forward, who should that be?
      2. Manchester City - Following impressive back to back wins, is it too early to jump back on their assets, and with the squad nearing full fitness, who should we be looking at?
      3. The emergence of a new template? - With recent swings in form for teams with numerous significant FPL assets (West Ham, Everton, Man City), is now the time to move away from players who comprise the current template (whether they have good fixtures or not) or should we keep the faith?

    9. Awesom-o

Marcus Rashford - could he be a premium forward disguised as a mid-priced forward that allows us to go without the likes of Kane, Auba, Aguero, etc?

Spurs - who from their midfield is the best option over the next 6 fixtures? Eriksen, Alli or could Lucas Moura take up similar positions on the pitch to Son?

Talking point should be a general discussion of premiums in my opinion, like the member's article the other day. I can't remember a time the last couple of seasons that we have so many fantastic viable premium options, but it makes it hard to decide who to go for. How do you decide who to ditch and who to keep?

Which player(s) should we discuss and why? Kane (again). Is he worth the price? Hazard next on the list- same question when so many others are performing well too.

Which team(s) should we discuss and why? Spurs/Burnley- Tasty fixtures + team shapes/styles are changing.

Talking point ? Which premiums are the most essential? Salah/Hazard/Auba/Kane/Sterling/Sane etc etc- So many players are faced with conundrums here on who to ditch and who to bring in. Are any of them actually ESSENTIAL?

      1. Many, like myself, will have had two Hazard captain blanks over Xmas. Dare we dispense with him being as Salah and Kane offer safer captaincy options over the next few weeks.. Does three captain options complicate things too much?

      2. Jason Puncheon? Worth a transfer in for Hojberg to free up 0.2m? Especially for recent wildcarders like myself again with two free's and no pressing issues this week...

      3. Mitrovic! On the Goals Imminent table permanently it seems! Gave him another game after the seven first half shot fiasco, returned me a nine pointer fair enough, but is he worth keeping going forward. Fulham look doomed.

Talking Point: Which premium striker is the way to go for the upcoming GWs? Kane und Auba showed some form recently but Aguero seems to be back in for City and one of their most secure starters in their offense ... Regarding the offer of good mid price options, their just seems to be space for one premium attacker!

Hazard. Is it worth making the swap to Salah/Sterling. Hasn’t proved to be a reliable captain and Chelsea don’t look anywhere near as good as Liverpool/city.

Plus shifted back out wide in his last 2. Is it worth selling after castle at home? Proving most of us have Sane, Pogba, Kane, and Salah to fit in also.

Player(s) - which heavy hitting forwards do the Socutcasters want in their teams and why? (Kane, Auba, Aguero, none/power midfield)

Team - Man United. Is their return to form sustainable and best assets to have (Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Shaw).

Talking point - as we are halfway through the season, what are the Scoutcaster's fantasy New Year Resolutions? Anything different they want to aim to do in second half of the season or tactics/methods that have been successful in first half of the season they want to continue doing (could also be heavy hitting forwards).

What strategies/captains/differentials are the scoutcast members looking to utilize in order to increase rank and likelihood of green arrows in the 2nd half of the season?

Seems like a good bunch of top fpl managers (Jay E, Fpl General, Az) seem to be treading water and even moving backwards in what has been a tough season to get a hold on.

Is 352 still the go to formation?

Siggy, Rich, Anderson, Pereyra etc have all gone off the boil a little.

On the other hand Arnie, Rash, Jimènez, Wilson, Ings, Rondon all have done pretty well recently.

Having two budget forwards and flipping between them based on fixtures/form looks a good strategy?

Player - Hazard (yet again... he looks like a great option so I get him in just in time for him to do sweet nothing for a few weeks and then I consider shipping him out again)

Team - Liverpool defense (now that the City game is behind them, should we be pairing two Pool defenders/GK with Salah... and if so which ones... one pricey and one cheap/value?)

Talking point - Taking hits after the busy holiday period to do a bit of a team reset (without using a WC). For those of us who have missed some promising bandwagons or had some red arrows of late and are considering a -8 to reshuffle a bit. Or should we be patient if we're mostly happy with our squads.

Talking point: Getting ahead of the curve.

Mark has had amazing success by jumping on players like Hazard, Sterling - and more recently Arnautović - very early.

How do we get ahead of the curve in the next 17 gameweeks? Which currently overlooked players have the potential to go big in future gameweeks?

And is this the season NOT to be patient - should we move as quickly as possible on emerging prospects?

      P.S. Get well soon, Kenneth.
