Scoutcast Episode 281 – Buzzing

Harry Kane’s ankle injury, which is set to keep him out of action until March, tops the bill during an action-packed show that bizarrely also takes in James Bond and Toy Story.

After taking great pleasure in looking back on their excellent Gameweek 22 scores, the Scoutcast crew tuck into the key questions from the community ahead of the next set of matches.

Kane’s absence sees David, Joe, Az and Luke discuss the best forward options, with Manchester United’s talismanic striker topping their lists. Moving money into midfield is also considered as the crew look at Dele Alli’s Buzz Lightyear-esque ability to step up whenever his Spurs’ team-mate is absent.

Whether to ditch disappointing players from the ranks of Chelsea, Everton and West Ham is another issue tackled.

Meanwhile, there are some words of warning for those looking to deploy their second wildcard now rather than save it to help navigate the double and blank Gameweeks to come.

Elsewhere, Az’s round-up of the community’s recent moves showcases a high-flying manager with a licence to thrill in the overall rankings.

The crew finish off with a look at their transfer and captaincy plans as well as the best differentials and defences in Gameweek 23.

Am sure I read an article on here from one of the top ranked players and he said he regularly takes big hits, one of the best players in our mini league always seems to take hits, not ideal suppose but if you think the changes will outscore the hits then it's worth it. I'll be taking a 8pt hit this week.

Are those putting Aguero in not worried that whilst Jesus keeps scoring Pep is unlikely to drop him? And with CL not far off, Aguero’s rotation risk will also be higher than most?

With no sissoko, dier, wanyama, dembele he could as easily play deep as up front.

Lucas will be the forward if fit, son is back in 3 games, and dele and llorente probably ahead in pecking order for front spot.

Could still do well, but he's a yellow card magnet and I think there are better options.

You’re right, definitely can’t fix it with one transfer.

Kepa has Arsenal, Bournemouth, Man City all away in the next 4.

Who knows what’s gonna happen with Lamela, might not even start.

Jesus not nailed, Kun due a start.

      No bench.

Cedric and Long (if his leg doesn't need amputating). On a struggling team with not the best depth in the league, 120 minutes plus penalties (likely) is not going to help their league performance irrespective of whether it is 4, 5 or 6

Hey I don't own any Everton assets so makes no difference to me but I do think this will give Everton the advantage. We shall see in a few days

I think you're on for a CS and maybe another attacking return this weekend mate. I may do TAA to Digne depending on how long he is out for

Why no love for Lamela? Shouldn't he start and get some returns with the Spurs favorable schedule?

Everyone hates Lamela in general. Not sure why.

Replies will be "coz he's shite" etc

Injury risk and not guaranteed to start. Depends on whether Poch goes with Llorente.

Abbreviations require the full stop for grammatical correctness though.

Didn't use any for "coz", nor a capital letter. Not sure what "though." is short for since "thought" is the same number of characters 😉 woop woooooop grammar argument

Could be another bargain, think back to before Xmas who would of wanted Rash, Pogba or any United.
Now the rush to get them is crazy, Spuds have good team just need a marksman.

it's an unnecessary punt, even with their injuries.

if you want a spurs player, pay the price for a consistent starter

One of the worst finishers in the league. Only thing he can do is dribble.

Yep, telegraphed his shot too obviously.

But his rate of improvement under his new manager is amazing. Should progress from here. Monitor, but not buy, imo.

I feel like he was this good all season (and all seasons). Just that the team has improved and he's got a few returns. Still the same old Redmond for the next couple of seasons too, I expect 😀
