Scoutcast Episode 283 – Double Trouble

A Double Gameweek should be a time of excitement, as Fantasy managers look forward to loading up on players with multiple games and wondering which chip to use.

But the Scoutcast crew are far from enthusiastic, with Manchester City and Everton the key teams in the first such set of fixtures of the current campaign.

In tackling the community questions on the Sky Blues’ pair of games, Az, Joe, David and Luke are fearful of rotation and questionable form, which saw last season’s champions lose to Newcastle last time out.

Meanwhile, a suspension for Lucas Digne and lack of accuracy for Richarlison have left the crew also unimpressed with Toffees players’ potential.

Also under consideration are the single Gameweek stars who are, arguably, being unfairly ignored and could outshine their double match counterparts.

The latest on the Premier League’s whipping boys, who are handing oppenents a worrying amount of shots and chances, is another issue covered.

With this packed 90 minute show recorded during the end of the January transfer window David ensures we are kept to date with the latest key moves.

The crew also find time to look over their and the community’s Gameweek 24 highs and lows, a segment of the show that Az in particular wished had been cut.

This latest ScoutCast finishes off with the crew revealing their Gameweek 25’s plans, clean sheet picks and differentials selections.

      I think Leicester will provide strong opposition to Man U. Could be a 2-2 or something like that

    Brighton has a good run of fixtures upcoming. Have thought about bringning in Duffy, is it a bit risky though? Thinking about last match conceding 4 against Fulham.... What do you think?

      Even if he's not, you have playing sub keeper.
      That midfield looks awesome.
      I'm not a Llorente fan though.

      Same situation. Super tempted. Behind 120 points of my league leader. Can somebody talk me out of it? Besides if not now then when for TC? City should be super charged for both the fixtures. Will we have a player with the same kind of motivation later in the season? Will we even have a DGW player for TC later in the season? Iam 100% sure he'll start against arsenal but with chelsea coming up next pep might play mahrez against everton

    A) Is it worth moving Auba for Aguero this week? (Already got Sterling)

    Barring no injury to Fab I’m going to save a transfer so I can on the Arsenal assets next week and remove the Chelsea players who have City, Blank Spurs in the next 3.

    On Pogba: "I don't think there's anything with Paul."

    And yet he was flagged purely on hearsay by a couple of journos. There was literally no statement by the club other than Solskjaer saying he doesn't think there's anything wrong. Players grab their bits or walk funny a lot of the time. It's just that most of the time Jamie Jackson isn't there to start a rumour, that's inexplicably then taken seriously by FPL towers.

      They do seem very quick to flag sometimes.

      He was limping a little bit in the last 10 minutes but was fine scoring the penalty wasn't he...

      1. Pierce34
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 2 months ago

        He may well have a minor knock, but the thing with the flag is that nothing has been said to suggest he does. Normally in situations like that nobody would think there's anything going on, and then the only (minor) doubt would be cast by OGS saying he doesn't think there's anything wrong (which would suggest the possibility that something might be wrong). Still not enough for a flag.

    Who do you think will find form and step up to score big this GW, and why?

    Do you think it will be an already-established name in many of our sides or someone who is a major differential?

    Have you seen something in a someone's play or in their stats to make you think they could be ready for a breakout GW?

      Mahrez. Not culpable for the defeat against Newcastle so can push his claims for starts in this DGW.

      Slightly more off the radar - Hudson-Odoi. Chastening defeat for Chelsea midweek and players want a change. Board also reportedly not happy with his lack of first team opportunities with Bayern sniffing around. Can see CHO startimg this GW and pressing his claim too.

    Rashford, Jimenez

    (Speroni, Lovren, Digne, Kamara)

    A) Hazard -> Sterling(c)
    B) Hazard & Digne -> Sterling(c) & Stones/Danilo
    C) Hazard & Kamara -> Aguero(c) & Camarasa
    D) Something Else...

    Cheers.

        Thanks. Are you against B because you think Danilo/Stones won't get as many points as Doherty as an example? Or just better to save one of the FT and not waste it on transferring Danilo/Stones out in the near future?

        Cheers

          I think Stones and Danillo will only play the one game. Mendy may be OK, and Delph/Zinchenko can play LB. Stones will probably swap with Otamendi for one game, Laporte might play 2 but not for sure.

            Thanks. Considering Sigurdsson as 3rd DGW player now....

    Best move? Edging B
    A) Get Boruc for Button if Fabianski out or go with no keeper
    B) Anderson to Richarlison

      Personally A... Not convinced no keeper + Richarlison outscores Anderson over the next 3 weeks

      Richarlison:
      Wolves, City (Home) Watford away, Blank

      Anderson:
      Liverpool (Home) Palace (Away) Fulham (Home)

      Boruc plays Cardiff as well

        Thanks. Hoping Fab is fit though but if not it isn't the end of the world as I can play Bednarek anyway over Anderson and keep him for some decent games.

    Should I still look at Pogba > Son despite Pogba being fit... United's fixtures are getting tougher and have no Spurs cover

    Salah Sane Richarlison Pogba
    Rashford Jiminez *Aguero

    *(back to Aubamayang next week)

    a) Lingard & Hazard -> De Bruyne & Sigurdsson
    b) Rashford & Hazard -> Aguero & Sigurdsson
    c) What is this Siggy nonsense?

    Have two FT's and only Rich and Ederson (and Digne) from the DGW teams so I could do something about it but not sure how to proceed. Could recover for the blank by switching Aguero or KDB (depending on the performances) or Rich (but probably not) back to someone else. I do think DGW's are a bit overrated but at the same time I don't feel extremely confident about Lingard/Haz/Rash either so I dunno I dunno!

      C. I looked at Siggy but not sure he is worth the money over Rich. Hasn't looked great this season compared to last years. Rashford looks like a season keeper now as well, and De Bruyne and I think especially Aguero could only play 1 game.

        A with Sane?

        Would do B if you had could use your nexy FT to swtich Aguero to Aubamayang after the DGW

    Digne -> Danilo worth a punt for this GW? What's the word on Mendy?
