Scoutcast Episode 284 – Emotional

The emotional side of Fantasy Football management cannot be underestimated.

As the Scoutcast’s discussion on mental health shows, many managers can struggle in their everyday life when a bad Gameweek strikes.

This episode features some powerful accounts of the impact being a Fantasy manager can have on the community’s lives, from sleepless nights to depression. Az, Joe and David also reveal how Fantasy Football has affected their emotional wellbeing over the years.

Recorded midway through a season-defining first Double Gameweek of 2018/19, the crew also look back on their decision to shun Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero.

City assets feature again in our community questions section, as the crew assess likely rotation, especially around future Double Gameweeks.

Elsewhere, Chelsea’s new-look attack is also weighed up.

The crew then finish off with a detailed look at their Gameweek 26 transfer moves, captaincy decisions, differential picks and clean sheet prospects.

This Scoutcast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

I think Mahrez, Sane and Jesus will start one of the next two. Not necessarily together though.

What would you do with this team? 2FT's 1m in the bank.

    Fab
    Doherty WanB Shaw Schindler Bednarek
    Salah Haz Rich Pogba Ward
    Rash Aguero Mitro

    Thinking some basic moves like:
Haz and Aguero to Son/Mane and Auba.
    Any other ideas.

Personally I’d go for some basic moves like Haz and Aguero to Son and Auba.

In all seriousness those are absolutely the moves I’d do. Depending on tonight I might be tempted to keep Kun > Auba for next week though.

Nope. Most who have a TC didn't use it this week.

My guess is many / most will be TC'ing Salah in 36, so the potential for that to go horribly wrong is immense. Esp if Sane gets two assists tonight contra a 1 pointer from a last-5-mins Salah cameo against dead and buried Huffs

So, my big decision this week is whether to shift Sterling or Hazard for Son.

Haz is actually more vital to his team scoring than Raz, methinks, so I may keep Haz and move Raz.

Also, keep Digne or ship out. I quite like downgrading to a Burnley defender there.

    1. Dave Bauer
      • 14 Years
      5 years, 2 months ago

Might not be relevant depending on your plan for chips, but there’s still a decent chance Chelsea won’t blank in 31. City almost certainly will.

Got all my chips, haven’t fully decided what to do yet. Obviously will BB and WC for the DGWs and Free Hit for a blank week.

TC probably Salah v “already at that point relegated” Huddersfield in GW36 looks favourite at this point.

I've done Haz to Son, keeping Raz.

...Burnley? not sure about them, but yes, Digne out if for free.

i'm leaning towards sterling. Managed minutes for sterling and the fact Hazard has a new toy to play with up front !

        This for me, too.

No worries about DGW rotation with Haz and seems like a new spark of life with Higuain there now.

City MF still a minefield and points likely to be shared. Plus, will get Mendy anyway when fit again.

I did hazard myself. I absolutely agree hazard in that lw position looks enticing.
But what swayed me was the fixture. City away blank and spurs.
For city Chelsea is not too bad. Then a blank then west ham home.

But I may also get rid of sterling before gw28 to get auba

      1. Nomar
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Those fixtures are OK for Chelsea though. They are capable of scoring in both those games.

        1. InSaneMan-e
          • 10 Years
          5 years, 2 months ago

          Perhaps.
I'll look to get both out by 28 but for 27 I felt sterling as a better chance for points. Invariable if Chelsea score at city haz will be involved.
Small margins imo. No clear answer

I would sell Haz over Raz.

City's fixtures are better than Chelsea after the blank.

They will score more goals and Sterling will be more consistent than Hazard.

I think Higuain could be a better cheaper way to cover Chelsea attack from GW29.

To be honest I wouldn't be that upset if Aguero was benched. If he starts and plays close to a full match it'll be a short-term gain of course but I'll be racking my brain over whether I should sell him for an Arsenal forward for a hit for next GW. If he's rested I'm happily keeping without any torturous thoughts of hits!

    Current Team

    Patrico
    Bennett - Mee - AWB
    Salah - Sane* - Richarlison - Son
    Aguero* - Rashford - Firmino

Bench Hamer - Diop - Luiz - Mendy

Considering doing one of the below, which seems best??
    A) Aguero > Auby (-4)
    B) Sane > Pogba (-4)
    C) Both (-8)
    D) Stick

Your squad cant handle the blank so ultimately it'll have to be both. But you don't need to do both this week.
Ride out kun at home. Get sane out for gw27 then kun out for gw 28.
I agree that auba vs huddersfield is enticing but sane not starting vs Chelsea is a big risk whereas kun will start for sure (assuming no injuries)

Have 4 players blanking in GW27 with 2 free transfers until then, could just as easily use them and then bench 2 players.

Thinking of Sterling + Ings > Jota + Auba

    Ryan* Button*
    Robbo TAA Doherty Bednarek Bennett
    Salah Sterling* Pogba Sane* Son
    Rashford Ings* Kamara*

    0 Ft 0.8 itb.

    1. Pierce34

I'd just play 4-5-1. I don't think the odds of Aubameyang and Jota outscoring Sterling and Bednarek by 9 points or more are very good.

      1. King Kohli
        • 11 Years

These moves also help for gw 27 where Sterling doesn't play and Bednarek is away to Arsenal.

Oh yeah I didn't notice the keepers. In many situations just fielding 10 players is probably better than hoping a cheap keeper repays a 4-point hit, but it makes it closer. Go with your gut!

        Well my moves would be:
        Sterling + Richarlisin + Ings > Son + Jota + Auba.
Surely they are worth 8 points when you factor in gw 27 as well?

Yeah, but it's whether it's worth -4 for this week as you could make them for next week for -4 (unless priced out)... Guess it should be worth it though as Richarlison is so meh and Sterling has Chelsea...

Both Hammers and Hudds are out of the FA Cup, so West Ham playes Hudds at home in GW31, a delicious fixture too!!!

Sterling TC here, is a goal, cs and full bonus to much to ask for? Would mean 63 points as TC

A lot to ask from the bench.

Bit greedy mate 😀 I'm also on Sterling TC (Only City asset)

It's out of our hands and prepare yourself for him to be benched. If he starts, it's a massive bonus and we can be happy with the 30 points from weekend

Scored 21 points in one GW vs Southampton, don't feel 1 goal is too far-fetched!

Same. Shame some rivals captained kun he gets more points.
I hope for any return. Would be great

I'll live without the CS to block some Ederson and Laporte points.

Own Laporte and Sane, so a CS would be most appreciated. Would get 4 from Laporte, 3 from Sterling TC and 1 from Sane if they all play and keep a CS!

Last year I hit exactly 100 and one of my defenders didn't play and Alonso got auto subbed on with a -1.
        Brutal.

looking at gw 27 , there a few possible replacements for richa in the same price bracket with good fixtures

    Madison
    Barnes
    Anderson
    Amiron?

all with nice fixtures following gw27 too. you guys tempted by any of these midfielders ?

    thanks 🙂

Anyone else looking at Westwood as the enabler 5th mid? The stats are good and Burnley are on the up with reasonable fixtures and play 31.

For me it's a straight swap for Camarasa.

sitting here and thinking is son gonna keep it up. is he a good captain opton for 27. perhaps go with aubameyang instead and downgrade sane. but there isnt really options under 6m. seems like sane to son is the easiest option.

0.2 ITB. can anyone lend any help on the disastrous team I've acquainted below?

    Patricio (Button)
Luiz / Robertson / Coleman / AWB (Pereira)

Salah / Sterling / Pogba (Camarasa / Brooks)

    Aguero / Jiminez / Rashford

Fixtures have not fallen kindly to this team. Defence looks ropey

    Help would be much appreciated!
