FFS Cup

FFS Cup competitions reach final weekend

We have reached the final weekend of the Fantasy Football Scout cup competitions.

After the semi-finals took place in the divisive Double Gameweek 25, we are down to just two contests in the public and Members tournaments.

Public FFS Cup

Very fine margins could determine the next winner of the public FFS Cup.

Going into Gameweek 26 there are six players present in the squads of both finalists Get It Inter Ya (981) and Man-Chest-Heir F.C (124,414).

They are Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.5m), Leroy Sané (£9.7m), Paul Pogba (£8.7m), Mohamed Salah (£13.6m), Raúl Jiménez (£6.7m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.8m).

But interestingly, there is further overlap in their defensive coverages.

The tie’s favourite Get It Inter Ya has Matt Doherty (£5.3m) and Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) while his opponent is in possession of Andrew Robertson (£6.8m) and Ryan Bennett (£4.1m).

Both managers may have to make a call on Sané after his disappointing Double Gameweek 25 performance, while Get It Inter Ya may also want to factor in his Chelsea double-up into his transfers.

Neither one of David Luiz (£5.9m) or Eden Hazard (£10.9m) will play in Blank Gameweek 27 after their difficult trip to Manchester City this weekend.

No transfers have been made by either finalist at this stage.

FFS Members Cup

There are plenty of interesting battles all over the pitch to be fought between FFS Members Cup finalists Jay # (59,782) and Jambo17 (99).

The pair took slightly different approaches to Double Gameweek 25, with the former covering it with a double-up of Sané and Raheem Sterling (£11.3m).

However, his opponent Jambo17 did not have the disappointment of owning the German international, Triple Captaining Sterling as well as owning Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.4m).

Jay # will likely look to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.2m) as his answer to facing Aguero, although his opponent does have the possession of Pogba over him, who faces a plum away tie at Fulham.

    Wildcard already played.

Does this week look good for a bench boost:

    Ryan
    Robbo / Kolasinac / Jonny
    Salah / Sane / Pogba / Jota / Son
    Aguero / Rashford

    Subs are:
    - SHANE LONG (Ings injured, vs CAR, surely nailed to start and not going to be an 'easier' fixture for him)
    - BEDNAREK (vs CAR, strong chance for a CS and baps)
    - AWB (vs WHU, strong chance for a CS and baps)
    - LOSSL (not holding out much hope here, maybe a few save points!)

I know saving BB for DGWs is the norm. But, without the benefit of a Wildcard, it would require a lot of surgery for me to maximise DGW coverage and use the BB.

Surely this week looks good for returns from my bench players?

    Any feedback appreciated!

I have no WC so cant get 15 DGWers easily later on, and thinking to BB with Patricio (NEW), AWB (WHU), Bednarek and Redmond (CAR). What do you think AZ ?

That was the plan but hoped TAA would have had more than one full session this week.

Cant play BB with TAA in ly team can I? High chance of a no show. Or get rid??

Thanks Az. Should have mentioned that I also have 2 FTs so will so either Aguero > Auba or Sane > Mane.

Non playing goalie as in Lossl not to start? Or not to earn any points?!

From what I've read on Twitter, Jota's knock is only 'minor'.

The most important question is: Will everyone get minutes? I think most of yours will but I'd be wary of Sane. As for the GKs I don't really know the situation there, I saw Az commented on someone not playing? Otherwise on paper the bench looks good.

Play Patricio or Ryan is my dull dilemma this week. I own Doherty to 'cover' Wolves def & was thinking Ryan initially but Barnes has been looking dangerous. That said Wolves will need to manage Rondon and they haven't kept many CS.

In case you missed it, here’s what we learnt in the runup to gameweek 26:

Mendy will not be available for City against Chelsea. During the presser, Pep also learnt that Mendy was in Hong Kong - he thought he was in Paris.
        https://twitter.com/jamesrobsonES/status/1093865986212679680

Alexander-Arnold is expected to be back for the Liverpool game against Bournemouth. Klopp confirmed in his presser that he had trained fully on Thursday, his first in about a month.
        https://twitter.com/James_Carroll84/status/1093570715461304322?s=19

Whilst TAA faces a late test, Lovren is confirmed out. Gomez faces 4-6 weeks out after his surgery.
        https://twitter.com/neiljonesgoal/status/1093864133492117504

Harry Kane is trying to push his RTP forwards, with both himself and Dele Alli starting on field rehabilitation. Kane could be back for the Burnley game in GW 27.
        https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1093857824764035072

Valencia still faces a while out on the sidelines, however Rojo is back in training. Darmian is also out.
        https://twitter.com/SimonPeach/status/1093801458309439488?s=19

Aubameyang suffered from the sickness bug currently making the rounds at Arsenal, but is still expected to travel.
        https://twitter.com/jamesbenge/status/1093502136460005377?s=19

Nuno and Wolves didn’t have a press conference at the end of the week like most teams, due to them being away on warm weather training. However, Jota has been seen training in the pictures after missing the midweek game as a precaution.
        https://twitter.com/parker_bradley/status/1093795050092457984?s=19

Kiko Femenia and Doucoure could both return this week.
        https://twitter.com/FFScout/status/1093557965607628801?s=19

Both Wilson and Brooks will miss out this week but could target a return for the Wolves game. Howe’s statement could be interpreted in a couple different ways though.
        https://twitter.com/BenDinnery/status/1093802506214404096?s=19

Zaha received and extra one game ban, but it will be not in affect this week as they have appealed against it, meaning he will still be available.

It was also announced that Tomkins doesn’t look able to play this weekend, dealing a blow to the Palace backline.

Danny Ings will miss the game against Cardiff and will also not travel with the squad for warm weather training next week. Hojbjerg is ok to play, after recovering from a concussion.

It's a really tricky one to work out - think he means 4 weeks from the injury and not 4 weeks more. RTP for Wolves is optimistic, Howe confirmed they wouldn't play this one though.

I can give you the quote for Wilson and Brooks and let you try infer what he means from there, because I'm not sure!

“David has been to see a specialist and has had scans. It will be around the four-week mark for him. Callum’s is a clean-out in his knee and will be around the same mark. We are not going to get them back earlier than that."

Thanks, yes I saw this quote when he was originally out a couple of weeks back, but this new one today also suggests four weeks, would be odd for Howe to give that time frame in reference to past tense.
                  Annoying.

            Really helpful info here.

I just hope people who make decisions based on what you’ve said don’t react angrily if anything doesn’t go exactly the way they want.

Let’s remember this information is not indicative of exactly how this GW will go but just what’s been said by managers/players and seen on social media.

Posts like these are very helpful and shouldn’t be seen as ammunition for anyone to moan if a player that was suggested as being fit doesn’t get a game.

            Cheers.

More likely to start than Kola? Probably not, but I'm just guessing and there will be lots of people here in a better place to make an educated guess on that one! 🙂

              Klopp;

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expects defender Joe Gomez back in the next “four to six weeks” after undergoing on a lower leg fracture and there is also positive news regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Klopp said: “Trent trained fully. Jordan [Henderson] trained yesterday as well after not long a break. Gini [Wijnaldum] also trained completely normal."

This, although it's not just about Monreal. Last game Kolasinac played as a winger, with Monreal at left-back. And it was Denis Suarez who replaced Kolasinac as the attacking left mid. That's a situation to monitor, though my gut feeling is that it'll soon become Suarez's place to lose. It remains to be seen whether Kolasinac can start ahead of Monreal in a back 4 but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

Trying to recover from a dreadful couple of weeks. Which would you do?

              1) Ederson to Patricio (or similar priced keeper)
              2) Sane to Son
              3) Neither / other?

              Currently on 1FT 0.5ITB
              Ederson
              Kolasinac / Bennett / AWB
              Salah / Sane / Pogba / Richarlison
              Auba / Rashford/ Jimenez

              Hamer / TAA* / Tarkowski / Hojbjerg

              Thanks!

Would probably do the Sane to Son if i had to choose. Reasons below:

                1. You know with 100% certainty that Sane isn't playing next week as well as a potential benching this week (and playing Chelsea regardless, not expecting a lot of goals regardless). Son should be more nailed and better fixtures to come anyways (and no blank).

                2. This gives you enough time to see how the FA Cup fixtures pan out next week. This will let you know whether or not Wolves has a fixture in BGW31. Which would be a huge factor into whether you should bring in Patricio or a different keeper.

Yeah i feel you, Richarlison is in a rly shitty price range. Makes it hard to ship him off for someone half decent without excess $$.

I understand the frustration, but I don't think he has to answer for every tactical adjustment he makes mid-game.
