Son and Llorente lead Spurs attack with Vardy benched

Son Heung-min (£8.8m) makes his third start in a row since returning from the Asian Cup last month.

The South Korean has been averaging 7.1 points per game at Wembley since Gameweek 13 and carries the added responsibility of being the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 26.

Over 550,000 managers opted to sign Son following the conclusion of Double Gameweek 25.

This time he is joined in the starting line-up by the returning Fernando Llorente (£5.7m) after he was benched against Newcastle last time out.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) keeps his place in the midfield but is joined by youngster Oliver Skipp (£4.5m).

Meanwhile, Erik Lamela (£6.1m) misses out on the match entirely with a reported back spasm.

In defence, Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) and Davinson Sánchez (£5.8m) are selected in a back four, with Toby Alderweireld (£6.0m) on the bench.

Claude Puel has made a brave call for Leicester’s visit to Wembley as he has left Jamie Vardy (£8.8m) on the bench.

Demarai Gray (£5.4m) leads the line for the Foxes, while Youri Tielemans (£6.0m) makes his debut in central midfield.

I'm torn, my mini league rival has captained Son and a score from him will see me lose top place in the league, but if Son doesn't score it looks like I might get kicked out of LMS. I don't know what to root for.

Need a new GK and LB first IMO. This is a decent team if you can replace Leno and Monreal:

      Leno
      Bellerin Sokratis Koscielny Monreal
      Suarez Torreira Xhaka Kolasinac
      Lacazette Aubameyang

Leno is one of the only players that doesn't need replacing. The whole back four are either too old (Monreal/Kosc) or not good enough (Mustafi).

Leno is a poor GK - not good enough for a Top 6 club - Heaton would be an upgrade IMO. Kosc has another season in him.

Leno was the difference between us conceding 3 and 6 vs United. He's decent and with a better back four in front of him will be less exposed.

              City - Ederson: Brazil No.2
              Liverpool - Alisson: Brazil No.1
Man Utd - De Gea: Spain No.1
              Chelsea - Kepa: Spain No.2
              Spurs - Lloris: France No.1

That is the type of quality Arsenal need at GK. You concede because your midfielders and attackers lack the defensive mentality required to defend.

Defence is a team game - you don't just rely on you defenders and GK. When you have Ozil, Mkhi, Iwobi, Ramsey, Auba in the side what do you expect - their hearts are not in it (Ramsey is better than the others tbf)

Who out of Arsenal's entire team would get into a top four side? Arsenal don't spend money, so is it not obvious that we don't have a world class keeper like in the list you made above. Leno is by no means in that tier, but he definitely isn't rubbish and is exposed by a terrible defence and midfield tracking (mainly Xhaka).

Wolves have a direct link to Portuguese talent through their club connections. (Hence Neves, Moutinho, Costa et all).

Who out of Arsenal's entire team would get in another top team? Maybe Auba or Laca at a stretch? Comparing apples with oranges - Arsenal are not a top team right now.

That's my point though. Leno isn't a top keeper, he is average and shouldn't have been bought if we want to get into the top 4

Arsenal don't spend money. Leno cost 19 million. Compare that with the Allison/Ederson/Kepa fees. We can't afford top tier talent.

Just because he isn't David De Gea, doesn't mean he's garbage. Put him behind a half decent backline and your opinion would be different imo.

I've seen him before he even came to Arsenal and knew he wasn't top tier.

You can't tell me we couldn't have found a good keeper for that money. We need better scouting since we have less money to spend

No one is saying he is top tier anywhere in this convo. He's a decent keeper and the sub 20 million price bracket is all they could afford. ffs we could only sign loan players in the last window - Arsenal FC can't even afford to sign reinforcements on permanent deals!

Sven just left before the last window - scouting is not going to improve.

Thing is we score enough goals. Just buy some moderately better defenders and we will pick up more points than now. Doesn't have to be a 50 million CB, just buy some proven PL talent from a mid tier team who would enjoy the step up to playing for Arsenal.

Agreed, most of the back four needs replacing, and a creative midfielder is also needed. Someone like Ramsey perhaps...

Agree mate. Ozil is meant to be that creative hub, but it seems to be a personal issue between player and manager that is keeping him off the pitch. Mhki and Iwobi don't create enough for a team with top four ambition.

Funny situation with scouting. The scouting was actually good through Sven Mislintat, but one reason he left was due to not being backed financially to secure the targets he found. Arsenal's frugality in the transfer market is beginning to bite them in the butt. You need to spend to compete now. Even Klopp realised this and changed his tune since he first started out at Pool.

In contrast, Wenger didn't adapt and was left in the dust.

We are going to see how much Wenger was hampered by a lack of financial support when Emery leaves in a season or two w/out a trophy and top 4.

Wenger wasnt the issue for me but a lack of spending

Wenger was tactically inflexible and stubborn to the philosophy of winning without spending large. Club legend, but the game changed and he was outdated.

Jury is still out on Emery obviously, but he needs a couple of transfer windows to shape a team in his image.

'stubborn to the philosophy of winning without spending large', you don't know that - if Emery/Arsenal spend a load this summer then maybe you're right, but I don't think that will happen

Arsenal won't spend big, Emery just needs 'his' kind of player in, and Arsene's old boys out of the team so he can implement his philosophy.

Maybe. I have him so obviously will keep
But I just mean he shouldn't be surprised if he gets less returns over the next few weeks.
Whereas someone like mane, for example has better fixtures and some form

Possibly the most blatant transfer of all time. How have you not got Pogba already?

Not his fault, was definitely a penalty. Blind ref.
